Thanks everybody, I'm staying strong, I have to stop those steroids, they make me so ill. I have this wierd reaction to a lot of meds. You're probably right, it's water more than likely. I certainly haven't been eating enough to gain anything. I appreciate your responses.

You need to google a keto calculator and follow the direction to get your macros. I don't know which one is best. I'm not sure how long it takes to go into ketosis, but I lost 10 lbs the first week, that's pretty much water weight but have steadily been losing since.

Yesterday, I was at a work event, big GM meeting where I was lauded for my skill with clients. After the meeting, I was leaving and one of the managers yelled at me across the parking lot that I'm looking "really good" today and I haven't lost that much weight yet but it was the first time anyone has mentioned how I look.

I have to say it's a little difficult figuring out the difference between how the US calculates and Canada, Mi creatinine serum was 84 and the healthy range was (40-100 umol/l) Maybe it's just a decimal place thing?

That's what I'd really like it to be able to maintain my diabetes at normal levels, and I love keto so it's under 20 for me at least for now, I might experiement when I hit maintenance but it will just be experimenting, if my bg starts spiking down go the carbs. I didn't really like the idea of fat bombs but I caved, I've been walking past a bunch of danish for three days now, I haven't caved but last night I made my first chocolate fat bombs. I need that extra fat to make sure I have the satiety to resist. They're like yummy little chocolates.

I'm not a vegetarian but I have seen some great recipes on you tube from "Headbangers kitchen" It is a bit harder to get your proteins for your macros with out busting thru the 20 carb limit tho.

If you research the specialists before hand you can ask your Dr. to see if he can get you in for a specific one. Otherwise, you're right, but then I'm in Alberta too.

Update: I actually had a doc that was cool! I did say I was ketogenic, and he knew about it. He was very happy with my A1c of 6.3, I think.. needs work. He wanted to prescribe statins because my cholesterol was high. My glucose fasting was 5.6 , I don't know what GFR is but that was 69. Cholesterol 7.32 HDL C .99 LDL 4.96…

I'm in Canada, there aren't private places to go to do these things, and I would be dependent upon my Dr's willingness to perform these tests. I do want to ask for a CAC scoring test.

I was thinking I'd say it's whole foods, low carb, and no polyunsaturated fats, but healthy fats does sound much better. Going to listen to the podcast now. Thanks again, everyone, I don't think I'd be able to do all this without you.
