Montana here: hat, gloves (a must for me), leggings, socks, long sleeve, vest, and I haven’t needed them yet but other runners I know use the Yak Trax, hopefully I get some for Christmas lol!

For the first few weeks it’s best to try and make social events things that are contracting to alcohol or stituation that you won’t be tempted or pressured into it. It gets easy later down the road but for now it’ll be tough since your friends and possibly yourself don’t realize how committed you are. Ask friends to go to…

I was at 134 when I started too! We have very similar stats :) I have an athletic build so pretty strait, definitely not curvey. I gain most of my weight in my stomach area. Nice work on your weight loss, that’s impressive you stuck with it! What is the 5:2 diet?

Sure I would love to be your buddy! I recently got back into it too and would love someone to keep in touch with. Feel free to add me!

Hi! Good luck, I hope you get through them all! I have never read them, should I be?! I am about to re-read The Hobbit in the hopes of finally reading The Lord of the Rings!

Hi everyone, I believe this is the thread that best suits my goals. I am 5’2” and weigh 122 lbs.

1 yr and 5 months :) I have loved every day of it!
-
Actually had a similar scenario this week!! Yesterday I bought a scale, weighed myself with clothes on and was 6 lbs different from when I weighed myself today naked. So basically I am never doing that again :)

That’s the only way I eat it! Same with sauerkraut :)

Currently reading The Book Thief. I was sure that I wouldn’t like it, but I have been unable to put it down!
-
I agree, but once it kicked in it made a huge difference!

Good luck in your journey, have you considered quitting alcohol? This helped me a lot, it was one more thing that encouraged impulsive and uncontrolled eating/extra calories. This isn’t the main reason why I quit, but it did have a huge impact on my motivation and ability to care for myself even when I am not doing well…

Oh and I forgot to mention! At first it’s awkward and hard to say no at social events or be sober, but after a little time all of that goes away, I still have just as much fun as everyone else, plus I get make sure my loved ones get home safe by being a designated driver. I do get tired earlier than those that are…

You can do this if you put your mind to it! I haven’t had a drink in one year and four month and I have loved every sober minute of it! Make a list of reasons why it doesn’t align with your goals and who you want to be as a person. For me after reading research that showed that even as little as one beverage a day is shown…

Severe GAD and social anxiety here, and although we can guess at what causes these things, in reality anyone can have these issues even if they have a very loving and apparently wonderful life. Most of the time just listening and trying to understand and realize it’s a real thing is the best way to talk about it. I second…

5k on the 8th! First in forever. Kinda panicked that I wouldn’t be able to run it but then realized it was only a few weeks ago that I was running 3 miles in 100 degree weather so I think illl at least make it to the finish line in the nice cool weather here! (It’s been in the 30s). Kinda excited to see what happens!

Just finished Little Bee (was very unimpressed) and The Death Cure (was pretty good, but I felt it could have been better). Currently I am trying to finish all my books that are on my “currently reading list” on good reads, regardless of if I lost interest or not :)

Like others have said, you are most likely running too fast. You will gain speed and endurance by running slower for longer distances. I suggest finding a marathon training regimen that includes speed runs/easy runs/hills etc these programs are built to increase both your speed and distance over a period of time and are…

Do you have a reference we could refer to? Where did you read it?

I love the name "Vermont Latte" and it sounds AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

After reading Wuthering Heights, I think I can finish reading romance novels for the rest of my life, I reached the highest peak and it's all downhill from here (just kidding). But seriously, anyone who loves romance should read it, it consumed me in every way, I feel like it was one of those stories that became a part of…

@theowlbox we were so excited for this movie, as my husband is a huge DT fan, and I have enjoyed the the few I've heard (long story short I jumped in mid series so need to start at the beginning-hubs listened to them on book on tape on our cross country trip). But we chose not to see it because of the terrible reviews, we…

Currently working my way through Phantom of the Opera. I love it and get frustrated by it at the same time! It can definitely be dull at points, but the story is so intruiging. I remember when I was a very small child (probably 8/9 yo) that I was drawn to the Phantom when I saw the movie, I truly felt for him, which is…

Left today, was not willing to risk sticking around or being stuck in traffic! Unfortunately my husband can't leave until Thursday, so he will probably get some bad traffic. Hoping we have a home to go to after all this passes! My thought are with everyone both traveling and sticking it out.

Don't compare yourself to billboards and magazines! Instead go to the mall and look around, look at the real live humans next to you, now find a few that look your age... those are the real human beings in this world, they look just like you and me. Sure some are skinnier than others, some are larger, but overall our…

Love kombucha, it's the only carbonated drink I like and I would drink it everyday if I could! I don't make it because we travel so much but if we didn't travel for work I would absolutely make my own! I've never really noticed any health benefits other than it settling my stomach and feeling refreshed, but that's just me…

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that part... I completely agree it tastes very off! Definitely not something that is realistic to drink unfiltered. At home in MT we never use anything but tap water, so it's not like we are unreasonable, the water here is bad

Very cool, I am loving learning about everyone's preferences and choices!
