AnnePT77 said "When I decided to lose that maybe 10-15 vanity pounds, I just cut back on the frequency and magnitude of indulgences - I didn't eliminate them totally. The loss was ultra-slow: Looking backward to do math, it was an effective average daily deficit of only 100-150 calories . . . but over a year or so, I lost…

Comfortable trainers that support my feet. I have flat feet and when I was 232lbs I was constantly getting foot problems that affected how my whole body ached even after a short walk. Then someone recommended Asics trainers to me - they were a game changer!

Thankyou @AnnPT77 😊 Such great advice!

I agree - Keto ( for me ) would be another unsustainable fad They key is to find something sustainable forever for YOU - that's it. It's not easy - that's why people regain the weight they lost.

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/ghrelin I'm not stalking your thread honestly 🤣 but this basically sums it up.

Also maybe you're carb sensitive? I don't do keto but I try not to have too many carbs as they leave me hungry within an hour. Maybe give low - ish carb a try.

Don't worry about it. Log it and move on 😊 If you're hungry eat - play around with macros , calories, meal times etc .. I'm sure you know this already if you have lost weight previously. An aggressive calorie deficit nearly always leads to a binge - I've already said this today in another post so sorry if I'm repeating…

No one ever has 'enough' money It's human nature to want more. More security, more stuff, more freedom etc .. Livable wages like everyone has said on this thread depends on how you live and where you live. I'm in the UK in a city near London so it's pretty pricey. Rent prices are extortionate and to get on the property…

Eating very low calories and going all gung ho with exercise almost always leads to a starve and binge cycle. I have done OMAD and it was effective for a short time - I play around with intermittent fasting but not all the time. It's what works for you. But what almost always doesn't work for anyone is very low calories…

You're doing the right thing. My food intake was all over the place too - just eat when you're hungry. It's difficult when you can't taste or smell anything isn't it 😔 I wish you a speedy recovery 😊
-
Yes maybe you're right- I think trying to eat at a 200/300 cal deficit midweek and maintenance calories on days where I'm out or weekends might be better. I think I might try no eating back exercise calories for a week or two. I've been pretty sedentary recently- so maybe that's the problem. Thanks 😊

When I was obese I started out with walking. It was difficult- but it gets easier. Start slowly and get some good shoes. Working your way up to hills and hikes with different terrain. Then I bought a bike (outdoors) This was a game changer - I found that I loved it! It was difficult and I used to get off and push it uphill…

Yes this for me too - if I eat too many carbs I'm usually hungry pretty soon after even if its a big portion. I agree that playing around with your macros and meal times might help you understand what keeps you satiated. The only way I stick to reduced calories is if I eat good fats and protein with every meal. Also…

I haven't tried a few of these so I can't comment -but all fries are pretty good aren't they! Not those oven cooked sweet potato abominations though - I made some the other day to try and curb my cravings for proper fatty fries but it didn't work. Oh and mayo and ketchup please 😁

It's pretty hilly where I live and I always used to think twice about which way I was walking to avoid the hills. Now I don't even think about it - I trot up them like a mountain goat 😂

I got Covid about a month ago and although the worst of it lasts about 10 days ( for me) I still feel off. Even though I took the right precautions and adhered to lockdown / mask wearing etc .. all through the pandemic I wasn't really that worried about it - and to be honest didn't give it a lot of thought as I usually…

I felt slimmer today 😁 I know I must be slimmer because I've lost 53lbs but sometimes it doesn't register. I felt light on my feet and good about myself which is a welcome emotion!

I had a look around the charity shops yesterday for a winter coat as I'm not spending any more money on clothes until I'm in maintenance. The ones I liked were all too big. This is a new problem - I liked it - even though I'm cold 😄
