Might I ask, how did you incorporate practice and strength building for these poses? I love being strong, I’ve also decided I want to work towards the strength needed (mental & physical) to accomplish things like this! Is there a program you followed? Or did you just continue progressing in certain poses to build up to…

I remember a few years ago when I was tracking here to teach myself how to eat enough. I came on this thread regularly. I took a break while growing our third tiny human & I’m back now. I can’t believe you’ve run your 80th park run!! I remember how excited/nervous you were to run the first, how you were training with C25K…

In a desperate attempt to not have to go swim suit shopping with all 3 kids (5&under) I tried on a suit top I bought 2 yrs and 20lbs lighter ago. It fits I wore it this afternoon I felt AMAZING

Yes!! This is why I’ve really fallen in love with tracking. No food is off limits, I just work things to make it fit. Thankfully I don’t crave junk much anymore but it’s refreshing to know I’m teaching myself proper portions and motivations behind eating in the first place.

We had 2 close friend or family weddings last weekend + festivities leading up to said weddings & hosting out of town guests for the grooms side. (My husbands baby sister was married on Sunday!) 1. I wore 2 different dresses and felt great in both of them. 2. My husband and I fulfilled various “behind the scenes” roles for…

This is awesome!! How inspiring and what a creative use of your valuable time!!

Awesome!! May I ask what your calorie goals are set at? Maintenance, Lose 1lb a week, what sort of deficit are you at (if any) and are you logging your exercise calories in MFP + eating them back? I’m currently doing Strong Curves and while I’m noticing good body comp differences + strength increases, I haven’t lost a…

It’s only been 20days of tracking (lots of those days I was over) but 1. I can already see + notice a difference in my clothes fitting better. 2. I’ll need to find a used bench + bar & plates soon since I’ve now surpassed the dumbbells I have. Yeah!! What an incredible visual!

I’ve had my calorie goal set a little higher than MFP generates b/c 1. I’m still breastfeeding my 1yr old (he’s in process of weaning himself) and I can’t be bothered to manually add back the calories every day. It’s easier to tack on an extra hundred in the initial estimate rather than put it in as a deficit and eat them…

Yess!!! I had a long break between 1 & 2 but a short break like this between 2 & 3. I have often thought the same thing! This is SUCH a short time in the grander picture of life. I’m surprised at how weary my mind had become over the last 4yrs of encouraging myself with that reality. It’s like I reached a point a few…

This is a little backwards, but I think it still applies  No one told me that sometimes when you’re a mom and you’re nursing your baby you have to choose between fat loss and nursing the baby. And to further this, no one told me (and BOY is it hard to find stories of similarity online) that EVEN if you’re SO…

I Started Strong curves this last week and MY GLUTES ARE FINALLY ACTIVATING. I’m familiar with lifting, I’ve worked out with fitness blender (fb) for several years, but after this 3rd baby (he’s 1yr) I could tell I needed to follow along with something that could help increase my glute strength but that I could do at my…

Question about eating back exercise calories. I find imputing exercise into MFP to be allll over the board. It’s also excruciatingly tedious HA! I lift. I switch things up. Sometimes I lift in a timed format, sometimes I lift according to sets/reps. Sometimes when I lift my heart is getting a workout just like cardio.…

I also used to be a runner and now I only do it in the spring/summer early morning hours when it’s pleasant outside! I thought I was gonna be a runner for life until I found lifting! Haha These days I run b/c I have 3 small kids and I like the QUIET.

Wooo!! I was trying to explain this phenomenon to my husband the other day. I was trying to help him understand what I meant when I said “I want to feel like myself again.” In his mind, the way my body looks has nothing to do with who I am (which is awesome!!). He was so confused  But this is encouraging to me!! I…

Ok, 2 more. 1.yesterday my body was exhausted from too many days of too little sleep + I'm successfully fighting off a cold but overall the body has to work at that. I started a low impact, short workout just to move but still respect where my body was at. 15mins in I could tell it was doing more harm than good so I…

Talk about a NSV and tearing up!! This is SO nice. Seriously, what nice, kind things to say! Full disclosure. I've been feeling a bit bloated lately and it's been hard to see myself as "fit" even though my body's capabilities prove otherwise. What an encouragement!! Thank you! Other NSV: I noticed while pushing my children…

You're welcome! I could definitely say the same for yours, it's always a real joy to me to hear of others discovering the enjoyment of exercise and what works for them! As for other channels, I'll share the two I used the most. Dance Fitness with Jessica and The Fitness Marshall. It's honestly been quite a while since I've…

I just love this!! The RevFit ladies (and a few other YouTube channels like it) were my re-introduction to fitness! And then it also lead to strength training and other changes! Dancing to those songs gave me such a realistic goal to pursue (I would do the same song on repeat until I felt I could actually follow along…

@Madwife2009 you are very welcome! And how exciting to try so many new things! I went Kayaking (on a local river with some shallow rapids) for the first time this summer. It's SO MUCH FUN. With how much you love going fast down hills on the bike I bet you'll enjoy kayaking! Especially if you have an opportunity to get out…

Yes. Bread gives me brain fog. Same with pasta. I've found certain switches helpful. We now buy sourdough bread. It has less of an effect on me and the kids don't mind it. I also have fresh hashbrowns as my breakfast carb. (Instead of toast) Lastly, I make Porridge (overnight oats) (1/2C oats, 12C water, 1T plain yogurt…

From one mom to another: your mothering inspires me. Why? While I haven't read through this entire thread I've been here long enough to see how your personal lifestyle changes are changing your entire family . From your adorable youngest daughter wanting to participate in any way she can (reminds me of my oldest who is a…

I'm finally getting back into logging. I ate mindlessly today and didn't want to see the damage. But I just logged to the best of my ability and ya know what? It wasn't as bad as I thought! <---NSV #1 As much as I would love to be able to eat intuitively, food it still attached to my emotions from time to time. It's not an…

Yes!! This was me!! For both babies!! This second time around I just stuck at the lowest calorie intake I could manage without my milk drying up (2400cal) and continued working out and eating nutritionally. My workouts include HIIT and lifting as heavy as I can with dumbbells and no spotter. I workout 5 days a week. I lost…

Yep!! This has my vote! Mostly because it's FREE and there are 600+ videos so I don't get bored!

Did something funny to some muscles in my back/shoulder area. Severely inhibited neck mobility and a precise yet strongly radiating pain were the main issues come Monday morning. -I did not use this as an excuse to become a complete lump in both physical activity and food choices. -I also didn't freak the FREAK out about…

How do you all feel about fitness? I'm not talking about "decide to become strong enough to do pull-ups. & go CRAZY" :-D nothing over the top. Just you setting goals for you. It could be simple and tailored to what you find enjoyable. (Or complex!) I know lots of people who after reaching maintenance switched their goals…

Way to go!! I have a hard time with freely offered treats like this! This reminds me, (this isn't really NSV but I promise it's related on some level) my mom has been eating healthfully for as long as I can remember but especially as she's gotten older she can feel the difference if she eats something processed. Usually…

Sat & Sun are my rest/recovery days but sometimes we end up going on family excursions so there can be light activity involved. Well! Not this last weekend! Hubby and I took the kids to check out a new trail at the state park a few miles from home. It's marked on the portable maps as 1.9 miles and "easy." Turns out its…

Took measurements at the end of March and then about 2 weeks later I weaned the baby...I've had this hunch that the hormones form breastfeeding were slowing things a bit... Retook measurements yesterday. I've lost... 3in at my chest (expected) 1.5 on my inner thighs, AND from my lower abdomen/muffin top 1in off my hips…
