A lovely hour of restorative yoga after a couple challenging work days. :)

Gosh, is it Wednesday already??? Let's see ... Monday is still a fog as I recall just running around like a crazed woman trying to contain the chaos that is my job. Can't say that was either enjoyable or healthy for mind, body or spirit. I think I fell into bed before it even got dark outside. Last night, I took a short…

I love Sundays cuz they are the only days I have to myself and I indulge in extra long days at the gym ... which i enjoyed today. Felt so good to stretch the old bones and do some weights.

Spent a beautiful late afternoon at the beach and stayed to watch the sunset. It was stunning and restorative. I needed that. ☺

Today I helped a friend move what seemed like a hundred small boxes from her house to a storage facility for over 2 hours ... not necessarily what one would normally term an enjoyable physical activity, but in this case the opportunity to catch up, laugh ourselves silly, and drinks beers after it was all done made the work…

Tough day. Thunderstorms all night drove all 4 dogs into our bed. Needless to say, it was a little crowded, lol. I'm calling sleep a necessary physical and enjoyable activity this evening and turning in hours earlier than unusual ... goodnight, moon. o:)

Day 3 ... 30 minutes walking my sweet little Mattie girl (black lab rescue). She's a well-behaved walker!

I was pressed for time by the time I left work and needed to get food on the table, so I threw on some serious dance tunes and danced around the kitchen while trying out a new recipe. It was delicious, by the way. Found the recipe on my MFP feed .... grilled lime chicken topped with avocado cilantro salsa. Yum!

Washed and hand-dried my car. It was filthy after a weekend hiking in a dusty and remote location. Took an hour and 15 minutes, but now it looks MAH-velous, I feel good about being active, and I saved $20.

I'm in too ... tomorrow, May 1, will be my start day. See you both here again tomorrow evening! :) Walking the neighborhood Yoga/stretching Beachcombing (yep, I'm one of the lucky ones) Hiking Gym Swimming Gardening (more like pulling weeds right now) I am not a dancer, but might step out of my comfort zone and try while…

I log every morsel, including my nightly glasses of wine. I'd be happy to join you on the path to accountability.

Undereating will always come back to haunt you. I'd reexamine the quality of the calories you are consuming at snack time ... try a protein bar or half an avocado and take a vacation from ice cream and carbs that turn into sugar in your body. If you drink as much as I do ... and it sounds like you do ... understand that…

That's wonderful! I didn't think i could go there yet, but reading these posts inspired me to throw my hat in the ring .... yesterday was my 1st day without wine. I'm going to see how far i can take this. My job almost REQUIRES alcohol to survive!
-
What is it called?
-
I was just thinking that .... hard to say no to alcohol, wings, and ooey-gooey dips and chips.
-
great idea ... or set aside the money we saved not buying a bottle and take it shopping for a new outfit for our slimmer, more sober selves!

I chose to cut down rather than abstain completely. That has been working out for me. I am a little disturbed that I chose not to go out with some friends this evening specifically because I didn't want to hassle with explaining to them why I wasn't drinking as much as I normally do. Is that crazy?

I am a massage therapist who let my license lapse 2 years ago. My husband is a massage therapist who makes a good living full-time. While it is true that it is more difficult for my husband to procure clients, one or two sessions with him, and people are sold. I think the secrets to his success have been his over-the-top…

I totally understand your dilemma. If it were just me and I lived in a vacuum, this would be easier. But when your spouse shares your enthusiasm but not necessarily your commitment, it's a challenge.

I'm in. Just rejoined MFP after a year's hiatus. I'm pretty good about healthy eating, but my downfall is wine. Must have at least two glasses --usually more like 3 to 3.5 -- every evening, 7 days a week. Since the new year, I have measured out precisely eight ounces each evening and have managed to stop when that was…
