  • I normaly eat low carb food with lots of butter, olive- and coconut oil, but during my days off after NYE I didn't and my body really protested against what I put into it. Back to better eating now! :) I prefer dark chocholate too!
  • Maintaining weight over the holidays is an accomplishment! You did great! Dr Fung writes about a study on his blog ("A prospective study of holiday weight gain"):
  • Thank you! This is exactly how I felt yesterday, I felt like I needed it - both the chocholate and the nuts for my mood. I think today was so much better just because I ate what I needed.
  • Keeping my fingers crossed for you both! Of course you'll make it! :) Good idea with this thread! My goal? Hm, for january I want to maintain my weight. Me and my daughter are going away on a 10 day holiday soon and as we have breakfast included in our hotel and I also want to have dinner... well... Goal nr 2 is to get…
  • Just like you say blambo, we got the tools the day we decide to jump back into it. That is great knowledge! How strong of you to take those breaks and come back afterwards, even if you kept an eating window. Well done! Yesterday I was really grumpy and angry and nothing felt right. I had my one meal as planned but for the…
  • Ah, the 1st and 2nd was worse than nye. No proper food and too much snacking while watching tv and hanging out. Me and my husband almost never have any time togheter and I really enjoyed spending time with him. Not that that is an excuse, ha ha, I know... ;) Starting over with OMAD on tuesday was hard and I'm still more…
  • Haha, I know! B) It just sounds so nice. It's not the numbers that matter, it's our health, but still... ;)
  • I too have trouble sleeping when on a longer fast (never on OMAD) but I don't drink sodas at all, only water, tea and coffee. For me I think it's more about getting such energy kicks from the fast that I only need somewhere between 3 and 5 hours of sleep, compared to 8-9 a normal night. If cutting out the coke zero doesn't…
  • Hi and welcome! You really seem to have the right attitude for omading, I hope this will be the way for you! I'm so sorry for your loss, I think every one here can relate. We all got our own stories to why we overeat and more than a few do it because of a loss of some kind. I do hope to hear more from you later on! Happy…
  • I had a good time, had a really nice meal and few drinks but then I went home. Best time of the evening, my dog and I danced through the fire works. Today I awoke full of energy, not something everyone does! Hope you all did too!
  • Wow, I can't imagine weighing 54 kg! I haven't been below 60 kg since I was 15 I think. (I was 175 cm when I was 13) But I'm like you, loosing fat on my stomach first and thighs as the last resort, if ever. It's the healthy way, but can be quite annoying, I know! I hope the new year gives you ( ;) ) the body you want - and…
  • I don't know what it's like for others, but for me I usually see either a minus on the scales or a minus on the measuring tape. Never both at the same time. The scales usually comes first and then it's like my body takes some time to adjust and show off the loss of weight. I'm happy I realized this, because every time I…
  • I mix 2 tbl spoons with a full glass of water, that makes it drinkable to me, and have that with my food. It's good to wait an hour to brush ones teeth after having something acidic I read, letting the saliva flush the ACV away first or eat something with a high ph to even it out.
  • Hi ruby-emrald and welcome! You got three options when posting pictures, drag and drop, upload or use an existing url. (sorry about the swedish words, it's what it looks like for me ;) ) Just klick the arrow next to the document icon when writing your post. It sounds like your off to a great start! Good luck :)
  • Hi - nice to meet you too!! :) You know what, I'm going to have some egg salad with avocado for lunch today and drink lots of water and tea, and then go there and really try to enjoy myself. I do have an excuse to go home early if I want to, we have a dog who isn't all that fond of fireworks. Not scared, but not happy…
  • Gained a kg, but some of that is probably water as I had bread again. I haven't had much carbs the last couple of weeks and now I had that for both breakfast and dinner. Half of the kg was gone this morning and the rest will disappere soon I hope. I'm really not looking forward to new years eve, we're invited to a big…
  • 20 lbs, that's a lot, you've done great! (And so much better than me during christmas ;) )
  • Oh, I've eaten and eaten today, mostly low carb food but lots of chocholates. My main issue is that I've had more than a bottle of mulled vine, 18% alcohol. I feel stuffed and less than sober and a bit worried about tomorrow. This isn't good, I know better. I want to just move on, keep on OMADI'ing but tomorrov will be…
  • It is good, spicy and warm! A little bit too much alcohol for what I like to have right now though (there are alcohol free variants too, but not tomorrow) but it's only for one day ;) It'll have to be okay! Are you going away for christmas or staying at home?
  • We've decided not to do gifts this year. Our son has nothing he wants and prefers money in his savings account and me and my husband are going to do something nice togheter later instead. Usually we go to visit family, but this year we're staying home as the holidays are so short. (They live across Sweden) It feels soooo…
  • Hurray, what a great job you have done!
  • Yes, a lot of water and tea and I also drank a glass of water with a teaspoon of salt just to avoid the dizzyness if possible. I don't know if that was it, but I was fine the whole time. I won't be doing longer fast often, but perhaps once in a while to test my limits ;) I can understand why people say they feel they…
  • I hope the evening was pleasant! Sounds like you did really good choices, even though the seasoning rub. Feeling bloated is no fun, but it goes away - just give it a day or so :)
  • That's the even smarter thing to do ;) But it's nice to know nothing is forbidden, we just have to wait a bit. I love that feeling!
  • After the meal above I decided to see if I could extend my fast a little, just as a test. I had lunch saturday and then I didn't eat until monday morning. Strangely I wasn't that hungry at all, but began to detoxify quite a bit early monday morning and decided to have breakfast then. (I needed to go into town a couple of…
  • Hi and welcome Whoniverse_Lover! I'm so glad you found this support group, it's so warm, friendly and helpful, it can become another safe place for you to go when you want to. I'm so sorry for what happened to you. They (experienced fasters) say that we can heal old traumas when fasting and I really hope so, especially in…
  • That is such a clever thing to do and what'll make you succeed in staying healthy. I wish I had done the same thing yesterday when my husband brought home some of the special christmas ham his friend makes, today there are just one or two slices left. Hm...
  • I don't belive it matters if you have one of those every once in a while if the other 95 % are healthy choices. We have to look at the bigger picture :)
  • In my mind it's a Mc Donalds meal, but perhaps I misinterpreted :/
  • Videos, both Joe's and Dr Jason Fung (especially Solving the two compartment problem - why we should fast to loose weight) are really great inspirations when willpower decreases. I have never spent as much time on YouTube as I have since I started OMADing, ha ha... How do your stomach react when you have your splurge day?…
