The non petty bit is obviously to look good, feel good and ohhh to feel confident in what I’m wearing. The petty bit - group selfies with my 2 tiny friends where I’m always hiding at the back. Compliments are all “you’ve a pretty face” or “you’ve got a great smile”. I don’t want to be hiding my body forever.

That the more you move then the more you need to keep moving. Exercise isn’t such a trial. Who knew?!
-
My mini goals for this week are - log everything & keep within targets - 10,000 steps per day - 2 gym sessions - See scale number slip below 240 (please!) My slightly bigger motivation is I’ve been invited for Christmas in Thailand with my aunt’s family who are all super fit and sporty and I don’t want to feel totally huge…

Late to the party, request sent. Hanging about at 235, motivation a bit awry the last couple of days, in need of some support/kick up the backside! Feel free to add me.
-
I got my scales to start moving by upping my water intake from 2 litres to 3.5 litres per day

I honestly don’t know how I’d manage mine on no carbs, I’m ok having reduced and cleaning up my diet for it. Last year I was totally out of control feeding stress and yo-yoing all over the place. Starting gently with shifting a bit of weight and getting hba1c under 7 and then I’ll look at cleaning the carbs up more. Slow…

My head hasn’t been in a great place the last few days but I’m so proud of myself for not having a binge and staying under calories.

Walked almost 5km there and back to meet a friend for lunch. Wouldn’t have done that a couple of weeks ago, would have driven and not given it a moment’s thought. Feels good.

Friend just turned up at my business with McDonalds for her lunch and a chat while I worked. I didn’t stab her. Does that count? I also didn’t want the McDonalds either!

I just walked 8km rather than doing usual thing of getting a taxi or a lift to pick the van up from where i left it last night after a boozy night out with the husband. I’m currently top of our Fitbit challenge, I enjoyed it and I know I need to keep moving to really see results.

The weirdest thing just happened to me. I need reading glasses for my phone and computer, the past year or so as weight has gone on and type 1 diabetes has spiralled out of control at times, I've needed them more and more. Fired the computer up today, stuck glasses on and everything was blurry. Took glasses of and can see…

I dipped below 15 and half stone (217) yesterday and back above it today (217.4) so under there, then all the 5s and 0s are mini goals to then 215 and then 10% loss is 214.2 and then on to 210 for 15 stone. I've a feeling there's something else in there too but can't remember what it is! I like breaking it up in to tiny…

I've not been in a swimming pool in many many years but I signed up for the Diabetes UK #swim22 challenge to swim the equivalent of the English Channel in 3 months from 22nd Feb. This week I've swum 1.8 of 22 miles. I'm so proud of myself and wish I knew before what a great calorie burner swimming was. And nobody seemed to…

I ticked off w4d3...still super achy in the calf muscles, need to sort that
-
Hi, just found this group. I did Week 4, Day 2 yesterday, I ache....need more fluids and better warm up and stretches!
-
The patience is wearing very thin!

I feel like I'm drinking gallons....it's largely sugar free squash/cordial, the very occasional diet soda. Dehydration is one of my biggest problems, I think it's partly diabetes related. I'm on my 4th UK pint of squash today...so almost 2 litres, no idea about ounces!
-
Just checked and still set at sedentary...guess I'll try cut some of the bad fats and up the protein and see if I get some more progress. It's very frustrating!
-
@jnananamaste no drop in calories suggested yet but I'll double check and drop the activity level
-
I use a food scale for anything being cooked from raw but packaged goods I go by the labels if it gives a portion size eg for one crumpet. I have got in the habit of checking the MFP entries too as found some total screw ups. And yeah, quality would make a lot of sense, there's a load of bad stuff gone from my diet, mainly…

As a type 1 diabetic you're describing how I feel when my blood sugar levels go low in to hypoglycaemia but get it checked out with a doc
-
Please add me too, 100 to lose at the beginning, 13 gone
-
You're doing amazingly! I'm about to send you a friend request if that's ok?!

I'm a type 1 diabetic with an insulin pump and constant glucose monitor (been diabetic 40 years but only got the tech 6 months ago). It now fascinates me how different things affect my blood sugar, I don't eat fruit now other than a couple of blueberries with my breakfast porridge and hardly any bread where possible. Low…

Me too, will friend request

The only supplement I take is iron around the WTOTM, seems to help me a huge amount and I get mahoooosive sugar cravings the couple of days before
-
I turned 40 last year, made a load of good changes to my life and work but the body/lifestyle thing got neglected so I'm late to the party but here now. Today I'm stuck without transport so wrapping up warm later for a walk. Pleased with dropping my first half stone (7 pounds) and committing now to logging everything…

I bought a cute pair of Zara trousers about 2 years ago with a plan on slimming in to them....they went up but didn't fasten then, there is much more work to do now, maybe by summer!
-
I quit Diet Coke a couple of weeks ago, not deliberately but I got sick and just haven't gone back to my 4 cans a day habit. I'm having the odd sugar free Sprite or Fanta but it's an occasional thing rather than every day.

I've just joined and about to send you a friend request. I'm 237, a couple of health complications but no reason why I shouldn't be winning at this. Having a bit of a slow start while I shake off a chest infection and then I'm on it with you! Michelle
