^Me too! I thought it was outrageous when a co-worker came in yesterday and told me that she & her husband went out to dinner for his birthday and spent $300 (not including drinks and tip). Everything on the menu was a la carte.

I think it is personal preference. You see stats on it both ways. It seems to me, as with all things related to health & wellness, it is "find out what works for you, and is sustainable for the long term". No one knows you better than you know yourself.

I have had a fitbit for four years now. I just replaced my Charge HR with a Charge 2, two weeks ago. I love my fitbit. It is perfect for my step based activity. There is certainly a lot more competition in the tracker device industry than there was 4 years ago. They are bound to have a decline in sales. I will continue to…

I think it may just be an individual thing, more than an age thing. I joined MFP 12/27/16 and started with the New Year (1/1/17). I am 65. Down -16 pounds, weighing, measuring, and logging everything I eat and drink, moving more, and staying within my calorie allotment. It is kind of maddening, as my husband, eats about 5X…

^True. I was just out for lunch and they were already moving in items for the next holiday (Easter). They don't even let the current holiday get over.

Mulch or wood chips. As Allison says, the fabric is a joke. Weeds find a way. Seriously, if you have ever tried to get rid of rock....................it is a nasty job. P.S. My husband has worked for a huge garden center for over 40 years, about 10 of that as a landscaper, and they despise rock, especially when adding…

Search Google or Pinterest for mug cup recipes. There are a ton of them and a lot of calorie friendly ones.

My DD & her girlfriends have a "Gal-entines" Day celebration, even the married ones. My husband works 2-10pm and I work days, so we had our celebration on Sunday. Steak dinner.

I just tried something similar to this. Fat free cool whip with 3 TBSP of nutella (heat in the microwave for a few seconds so it mixes in better). Mix the cool whip and nutella together. Chill. Enjoy. Makes about six 1/2 cup servings for 120 calories. My go to treat every day for staying within my calories is 1 dark…

Very well done! You look fantastic!

Kale, quinoa, tomatoes.

I don't think people are trying to be nasty. They are trying to help you save your money. There are no quick fixes for weight loss. No magic pills. Everyone would be a normal weight if it were that easy. If it seems too good to be true, it isn't.
-
Enjoy them, but they are not going to help you lose weight. Except for maybe psychologically.
-
Do whatever works for you. If you can lose the weight and keep it off without logging, that is great!. Many of us can not.
-
Really, than why is there a need to have this fat acceptance post?

Seriously? I bow to your superior intelligence. My point was never about how big or small we are as a species and when this developed. My point is that no one has the right to shame anyone else about how short, tall, fat, skinny, color, race, sex, religion, political affiliation, country of origin, etc. The "epidemic of…

There is no blame for anything. Are you saying that obesity has only been around for 50 years? Not so. I agree that it may be more prevalent, but there are a lot of reasons for that. All I am saying is don't project your ability to overcome your weight issues onto anyone else. Not everyone is you. Judging someone else is…

Humans have gotten bigger over time. It is part of evolution. Nothing new. You claimed that for the "vast majority of obese people, it's about the choices they make." There is no way you can determine this, with certainty. There are so many factors that may enter into this. All I am saying is that no one can be certain…
-
This is BS. How do you know the choices the vast majority of people make? You know the choices you make. No one else. You can not speak for anyone, but yourself. You can not even to pretend to know what goes on in anyone else's life. Quit judging others by what you can or can not do. You are doing it, and that is…

or, quit building 3 billion dollar battleships and spend some money on taking care of this country's people. Or, give us the health care that the US Congress gets.

[ As you can see, I am taking this out of context, but, is it "pure laziness", or is it something simpler, maybe hopelessness, on those of us who are morbidly obese, or even just overweight. There really is not a simple answer to this, but also, there is no excuse for rudeness and intolerance. It is up to each of us how we…

Yes, I could, but I don't...............anymore. but then, I could eat too much of everything I like, that was the problem. Since 1/1/17 I am learning moderation of all food, and portion control. Hopefully on the way to my weight loss goal and being able to maintain a normal weight.

Any food or beverage is ok, as long as you are at, or under your calorie allotment.

Yep, mine is 48-52. 65 F

I had the best salad the other day. 3 cups Romaine 2 oz grilled boneless, skinless chicken breast 2 TBSP sliced, toasted almonds 1/4 cup sliced fresh strawberries 1/4 cup fresh blueberries 1/4 cup feta cheese 2TBSP raspberry vinaigrette So good!

Well done! MFP was a tool, you and your determination accomplished this! Good luck on your 1/2 marathon!

Everything that has calories counts. Eat it. Drink it. Log it. A few calories here and there can make a difference. I don't want to have to ask the "dreaded" question here, "why am I not losing weight"?

I kind of have volunteering in an animal shelter at the back of my mind as well, and am hesitant for the same reason. It would break my heart. :'( Maybe I could volunteer at a doggy day care place. Moot point for now as I have 10 months and 19 days left till retirement.

LOL! MFP should have a LOL button. My favorite is "I want to see what happens if I don't give up"

but, it is good with a little evoo on a salad
