I can still get shin pain if I start running too fast even on a track that I run each week because my warm up usually consists of walking from the car to the start line. I also got some the other day because I wore hiking sandals on a walk instead of my normal runners. My running club changes location each week so some…

The 5-6 day a week programs I've done break it up so you focus on legs one day, back and arms another and then repeat, also had a core and flexibility day once a week.

It depends on the leggings, some have a built in crotch liner and some dont and seams can be in the wrong place IYKWIM. I test them out in front of a mirror at home and also I tend to size up when it comes to leggings. I have heaps of different ones, some of them I dont have to wear underwear but I mostly do anyway. I…

Isn't every female diet 1200cal:D I did 1200 cal for about 6 weeks and then upped it to 1500cal for the next 5. Lost 10kg in 11 weeks but I exercised for 1 hour a day 6 days a week from week 3(which is why I ended up upping my cals to 1500 as 1200 was not enough).

I had a quick look at a calendar for insanity max which looks like you are working out 6 days a week. How are you doing recovery wise from that schedule? If running is your goal have a look for a program which has that a focus, a good one will incorporate some strength training as well. I am in the opposite position in…

I am trying to work out what they are going to tuck! I would be going down the recomp path as I personally think with a bit more time that your skin will continue to recover.

I found body weight programs good, inevitably you'll get interrupted and I find these easier to get back after dealing with whatever it is they needed. I never liked my kids in the same room when I am weightlifting or using the cross trainer in case they sudden come over/under me but that wasnt always possible when they…

Stay away from the weight room for as long as your doctor has told you too.I was let home from hospital really early due to having an 10week old baby at home and didnt follow his initial advice of taking it easy for a month (with a toddler and a 10wo its a bit hard to take it easy). I ended up back in hospital a week after…

I tended to be an all or nothing exerciser (and dieter), I was working out 6 days a weeks and then if I had to miss a couple of sessions I found it hard to 'get back on the band wagon' and it might be another 6 months before I got going again. This year I took a different approach, I started only running (an activity I…

[quote=Read a comparison on the two and the only real difference is the ionics ability to use your phone GPS to track runs (as well as a esthetics).[/quote] The Blaze uses your phone GPS to track runs, ionics has in built GPS. I traded the surge for the blaze because I have issues with the silicone bands causing allergic…

Running doesnt make everyone hungry for some it has the opposite effect. You might be faster if you lose weight but not if your under fueling your runs.

Dont try anything new the day before ie. food and dont try to change your normal routine. ie. if you normally exercise fasted dont decide to eat breakfast before the race. If you normally exercise in the arvo and its a morning run get a couple of practice goes in at the same time as race time. Arvo running for me is a…

The trailers not hard to pull with a 4 and 2 yo. I use to stick 3 in mine (5,3, & 1) and that wasnt too bad either unless there was a hill. My kids would still happily ride in it now though it would be hard work. With the 4yo you could get him a scooter so he can start with that and when he's had enough its small enough to…

The point of tracking exercise calories is not pointless for some people esp if exercise is inconsistent. Me for example first I would have to have an idea of my base activity level to work out if I am sedentary etc then how often do I exercise. Well some weeks its 4-5 days some weeks 1-2. While I am generally pretty…

I ended up having to stop running for about 8 months last year due to PF. For about 6 months I just left it untreated, yes it felt better most days but then if I had a day of shopping/housework or even a slow walk etc it would kill the next day and I would be almost unable to walk. I finally saw a podiatrist and got a it…

I dont bother, I do a couple of hours walking a week delivering catalogues so I start with a heavy backpack and finish with no extra weight. Its pretty negligible over all.

Ensure you wear the bra you will wear on the day to your final fitting (and any undergarmets such as spanx). I wore spanx to my wedding and for photos and took off before reception (reception was at night and the professional photographer was gone by then). That way I got to sit comfortably/eat etc.

I think everyone has their own 'schedule'. For example once a month I have to go several times a day usually for 1 day or 2 max but its not the runs just normal BM although sometimes the need feels urgent. Aunt Flo comes to visit 3-5 days later. Because of this I am usually lightest just before my period unlike most women…

It takes about 4-6 weeks for the change in medication to take full effect. Preg has done lots of things to my hormones. I had to say goodbye to my gall bladder following my 2nd preg (so did my sis on her 2nd one). I am unsure when my thyroid issues started but I have only discovered it post kids but from what I've read it…

I've read/watched a bit about set point in an online nutritional course I was doing. I think we make our own set point which can be at any weight. I have often come back to the same weight (and also struggle to go below a certain weight) but I know that there are habits I have that contribute to coming back to this weight…

Yes its possible to lose weight eating 2000 if your TDEE is at least 2300 but your goal of 10pds in 2 months wont be achieved because you are probably going to lose about 0.5pds a week if your deficits around 300. With only a little to lose it may be hard to see the difference. Since you mention issues with weighing rather…

That really just means you are losing weight in the same proportion of your current body composition meaning you are losing muscle as well as fat. People will jump on and tell you how inaccurate these scales are, and yes they are only a guesstimate but if you use them under the same conditions then they can show you a…

I even tried to take a weekly average of the predictions and it didnt match.

Yep I have a weight wall and somehow have never managed to get through it. For me I am trying not to view the changes I've made as a diet but a changed way of life because realistically if I think of it as a diet its depressing to think its going to be a year long diet and also if I view it as a diet I'll just end up back…

Are you actually measuring it? My bum is the same. I lost weight quickly around the middle (stomach and back) and my bum is smaller but hasnt shrunk in comparison so looks bigger. I have already started to have to deal with the back gap of my youth where as a few kilos ago my stomach was is issue when finding clothes to…

I lose and gain weight fairly evenly as well. I have heaps of clothes that I have been able to wear over a 20lb weight difference. But there are some clothes that dont accommodate weight fluctuations and those are the ones that tend to end up at the back of the cupboard and I just forget about them. I have Bf% scales and…

Well you can change the value to 1 calorie but MFP is designed for you to eat your exercise calories, the deficit is built into the goal calories already. So you would be losing weight even if you didnt exercise. People often say that the numbers are inflated so start by only eating 50% of exercise calories back. Others…

My sil has a double chin even at a low weight. She saw a plastic surgeon and was surprised how quick n relatively inexpensive some lipo was for the area. I've also recently seen a celeb who had it on the bulge just under the armpit. I believe both are not full blown surgery. Plastic surgery has such negative rep but I…

What works for one person doesnt work for another so its def trial and error. I drink heaps of water the day before and that usually means an extra BM late in the day. Night before I usually try have fairly bland food and I dont carbo load just an ordinary meal. Last race was fish & veggies (and I stole a few fries from my…

Well I dont know about an all milk diet, but I have taken to replacing the odd meal with a protein shake made with milk. Semi skim milk has some but no all fat removed, from what I have read whole milk has 3.5% fat, semi skimmed has about 1.7% and skimmed has about 0.5% fat. Calorie difference is about 5 cals per glass…
