Thanks. I needed to hear that from someone else so I didn't feel like I was making excuses to "stray".

I had a really stressful day today. Only had a yogurt for breakfast and was really hungry at lunch. Was with my husband and daughter who had just been diagnosed with bronchitis and was on her way to a therapist. Had to grab lunch. Where - McDonald's. Then I read the menu wrong and ordered an Artisan grilled chicken…

I'm really motivated because I need a hip replacement and the doc won't do the surgery at my current weight. I also really was tired of feeling like food was the center of my life - especially carbs. You know, pretzels, bread, pasta, ice cream, cookies. I really never was taught very good impulse control or how to limit…

Great to see all of you here. I'm no expert but I'll gladly share some of my "tricks" and with 30 more pounds to go, I'm sure I'll be looking for encouragement as well. My best tip, log everything and be honest. If you're not positive of the amount, choose the one higher in calories and don't eat back your exercise…

Thanks. Great advice. I always find it easier if I've planned.

I don't want to sound stupid, but what is a Keto diet?

Congrats on getting down 40. That's a major accomplishment!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I'm finding my toughest challenge is to avoid stress eating. I'm over calories for today but I have them set lower so I'm not too bad. I can't tell you how much having you all out there helps me. I finally feel like I can talk to people who understand how difficult it is to lose a…

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and tips. Yesterday I was down all day with a migraine - barely ate or drank anything at all. After the miracle of pharmaceuticals, I was fine but dehydrated this morning. I weighed myself but really didn't put much stock in the number after basically no food yesterday. Today I ate my…

Great job. Four days is a wonderful start. One thing I've found is that I don't say that I'm "on a diet" I say I'm changing my eating habits. As weird as it sounds, it plays a trick on your mind because we all associate diet with deprivation. Then we find it hard to stay on track. I also allow myself a treat now and then…

Happy to help.

I'm hypothyroid due to a thyroidectomy and 12 years later we still mess with my dosages. I'm also in need of a new hip but not allowed to exercise. Doc wants me on no carbs unless they are crunchy fruits or veggies. Very hard to do and I'm constantly not eating enough protein because I end up with too much fat. I'm here to…

Please add me. I've always struggled with weight and know that I'm a stress and emotional eater. Had back surgery in March and gained 25 in 8 weeks. Started at 270 in October as I need a new hip but can't have the surgery until I'm down 40-50 lbs. Not allowed to exercise due to increased damage to hip so am on no carbs or…
