Many comments have suggested bike fit and shorts which are all good points. Some women depending on their anatomy require a more specific saddle choice to reduce friction on the erm..frontal area. Probably a difficult subject to discuss at your LBS. However many products are available though not always budget friendly.…

Hey I run the trails near me. It is more fun and less polluted. Start slow and don’t worry about anyone else. Whenever I see someone slower or struggling I think well done! I remember someone saying that at least they’re lapping all those on the couch. That will be true for you. No matter what effort you can make, no…

Cutting back or eliminating alcohol is always a good thing. Personally I try and avoid through the week. I build perhaps one or two drinks in to my allowance. Good luck x

Are YOU a physician? Read my post again. I was prescribed something which is handed out like candy in this country. A ‘quick’ fix because no physician has the time/inclination to follow through when a patient presents with anxiety and depression. I and millions of others can testify to the benefits of magnesium…

Hi, i was sober for 10 years. Early motivation was about keeping family together rather than health issues. Initially it was tough but when my association changed it became easier. Your partner needs to be on board if this ride is to become easier. I do drink these days after much self examination and honesty and much…

Hi, i came off of medication some time ago as side affects bothered me more than depression and anxiety. I was on a generic version of Prozac for a year. I’m not a physician, however regular use of magnesium oil has been a real boon. Sleepless nights are gone and days are generally calm and relaxed. Two of the many health…

Hi, i have been using magnesium oil for muscle soreness after my cycling workouts. As well as having many health benefits, one of the most beneficial to me is improved deep sleep. This of course aids recovery. Very cheap to make for yourself. Best wishes.

As above. Little steps over time. No quick fix. Dont be influenced by social media and modern body image hype. Get a good feeling from looking after your body from fitness and diet and let that become an addiction. Best wishes.

Hi, the best thing i have done in a while is abandon social media. Being insecure and suffering with low self esteem i was always battling. Any progress was short lived because social media always plays to our insecurities. Its been over 18 months now and I don’t regret it one bit. All the best on your journey.

My advice as a cyclist (150 miles pw). The pain is felt in the knee but very likely due to tense muscles. The IT band notorious for pulling the knee tight when over worked. Also look at quads and glutes. A good foam roller routine or if you can afford it, massage will make a big difference in my opinion. I also play…

+1 for Garmin. I use Garmin vivoactive with a separate chest strap (more accurate than wrist hrm). It counts steps and syncs to MFP and third party apps like Strava. It has built in programs for indoor and outdoor cycling and running. Each program has user definable data screens. Worth a look. Check out Dcrainmaker.com for…

I'm a keen roadie. I use MFP to track calories and keep energised for those long days in the saddle. Cycle all year round, and happy to ride through rain. Feel free to follow add whatever for motivation and support. Keep turning the pedals.
