Fall down seven times, stand up eight.

I am 124 pounds down with another 20 to go and stuck in a plateau now for about 6 weeks, so I truly feel your pain! But I agree completely with frhabert, who said it is important to keep looking at how far you've come and accept that it is fine to be losing more slowly, especially as we approach our goal weight and our…

I can testify to what a great weight loss pal Sandie2102 has been. Really really helped to hear from her every day. Thank you! And thanks for the advice!

I’m 65, 5’1”, female, obese my whole life. Got serious last November. Daily stationary bike in my building’s gym, plus in warm weather a daily swim too, in building’s outdoor pool. Radically changed eating habits, very low sugars and no meats but lots of fish, some poultry, lots of yogurt, fruit and green/orange/red…

Any way you can put that $19,000 toward paying for the drug, since it’s working for you? I’m on it since November and have lost 108 pounds (toward an overall goal of losing 145 pounds). Side effects were bad for one or two weeks early in, but after that, they were gone. With weight loss, exercise became less onerous and…

I do stationary bike and swim laps every day but just added senior fitness YouTube videos in the last couple of days. So far have focused on Pilates but there’s all kinds for toning and stretching and strength. I will rely on bike and pool for the cardio, YouTube for strength and balance and toning.

On Mounjaro since Nov 2022. Female, 65 yrs old. SW 272. CW 178. Now at 12.5 dosage. Exercising an hour a day (swimming laps, stationary bike) and some weight training. Keeping at or below 1000 cal/day. Pretty much eliminated meat from diet. Mostly yogurt, seafood, eggs, berries, carrots, green vegetables, some oatmeal.…

You’re looking terrific! Bet you feel soooooo much better. Congratulations!

Fascinating to read the responses. For me, the support I’ve gotten from friends and family has included: (1) letting me talk about my new exercise routines, which is interesting to me but probably a bit boring for them; (b) agreeing to look for dinner options at home or out at restaurants where they can enjoy what they…

65 years old here, on Mounjaro since Thanksgiving and luckier than you. Not diabetic but do have Hashimoto’s and PCOS.. lifelong overweight or obese. Except for occasional nausea (like maybe three times total since beginning), I’ve had no problems with the drug. Just now up to 12.5 dosage. It has cut my cravings and I have…

I had a terrible habit of late night eating. Yes, choosing a snack like an apple would work for a while, but eventually, if I stayed up, I’d get cravings and then eat more. My solution as of a few months ago has been to go to sleep earlier, and wake up earlier. Somehow, I still wind up eating dinner at about the same time,…

I’ve been on Mounjaro since November. Down 83 pounds, about 60 to go. It has helped me change everything … low fat, low starch, high fruits, veggies, dairy and fish diet, with daily workouts (stationary bike, lap swimming, weight machines). The drug has eliminated the repetitive thinking and intense binge urges, leaving…

I hit onederland recently after losing 75 pounds and treated myself to a show at a local, classy theater and a day spa facial, with plans for a day spa massage next to round out the celebration. Treats for mind and body. Once I lose the next 60 pounds, I plan to do a whole weekend at a spa resort. I’m using the savings I…

I find MFP vastly exaggerates the calories lost for a particular exercise (I swim laps and use a stationary bike) so I just ignore this. If I keep to my 1200 limit, I lose weight pretty steadily and I try within that limit to reserve some calories for a low cal snack before bed, like an apple or nonfat yogurt.

I’m with ya. SW 279 CW 199 GW 134 Age 65 Eating mostly fish and poultry and dairy for protein, berries and veggies for the rest. Very low fat and very low sugar/starch. Keeping under 1200 cal/day. Stationary bike 30 min/day plus swimming laps 30 min at least five times a week. Walking more. Goal is 5-6 pounds a month for…

To PAV888: I have been trying to increase the dosage per protocol for the drug, and under my physician’s supervision. At the moment, I can’t even find a lower dose, so I may discover what happens when suddenly I am off the drug entirely. Not looking forward to that and hope it does not happen. To others: yes, this drug…

I’ve been on Mounjaro since November. SW 272. Current weight 202. GW 133. Had one bad time for a couple of weeks when at the 5mg dose, with queasiness when eating more than a mouthful. But other than that, it has been free of side effects. The drug has made a massive difference in the kind of cravings that led to a…

If you are new to Mounjaro, then it is common to have queasiness that makes eating unappealing. It will pass, though it may recur when you move to a higher dose. Don’t freak. See how you’re doing in a day or too. Until then, very plain foods like oatmeal, consommé, tofu, bananas and such may be more easily tolerated.…

Glad you’re doing better. On the fruits… some are sweet but also have lots of fiber, like berries, and may be better for you than things with lots of sweet but little fiber, like grapes. Ditto some veggies better than others, like spinach and broccoli. Nonfat plain yogurt plus berries makes a meal that feels very different…

SW (Nov 2022): 272 CW (May 18, 2023): 205.1 Accomplishments- gone from super obese to morbidly obese to severely obese since November Walking better, going to gym daily, oriented diet toward unprocessed foods, low fat and starch, heavy in veggies, fruit, yogurt, fish Immediate goal: one-derland by June 6 (my 65th birthday)…

I’m on Mounjaro since November and have gone from 272 to 206. About half of what I need to lose. I find this drug tremendously useful. It has had a dramatic effect on my cravings, my repetitive thinking that led to binges, and overall on my appetite. I have still needed to be very conscious of what I eat, but now I can do…

That table looks awesome! I can’t say I’m into the meal planning, but I have changed my shopping list, so there are healthier grab-foods, like baby carrots and blueberries — along with some new staples. “Palmini” is a brand that makes hearts of palm into very satisfying versions of noodles, but at incredibly low calorie…

I’ve been on Mounjaro since Thanksgiving. So far I’ve lost about 40 pounds. I do not feel apologetic about using a drug to help me with the weight loss. I don’t think it is entirely my choice to have lived my entire life of over six decades with cravings that approach obsessiveness. There simply are some things that vary…

I just took my 11th dose (2.5, 5.0, now taken third dose at 7.5). Had significant nausea after eating anything but tiny amounts in the second week on 5.0, but other than that, side effects have been very mild or missing entirely. Unquestionably it has reduced both hunger and appetite, though at the end of a week, just…
