Today I ran in a 10 mile (running) road race. The NSVs are twofold: 1) an ugly spring cold found me last week and I wasn't sure I would even be able to run in the event; and 2) my gun time was just over 2 minutes faster than the last time I ran this race 13 years ago. Older and faster - quite delighted with it all!

Agree with those that said to get a gait analysis at a reputable running store. Everyone has their favourites - mine are Saucony Kinvaras.

Quite honestly, I just cannot understand how people (strangers) somehow feel they have a right to judge another person. If you are going to be rude to me, don't go all big-eyed when I'm rude right back to you! So sorry for your friend.

Somewhat to the point made by @JerSchmare, being active at 60 means something very different to me than it did at 30, 40 or even 50. At 40, I could and did run a 9 minute mile and regularly cycled 100k. Now, at 60, I am quite happy with an 11 minute mile and 50k bike rides. This is partially due to having less energy, but…

Used a night splint - same idea as the Strassburg sock - and has good results with that.

I turned 60 in December. Active in outdoor sports: running, cycling, golf, kayaking, hiking and some pool swimming. Do I consider myself an athlete? Certainly - I will claim the label @AnnPT77 !

I just cannot comprehend how anyone would think it's okay to comment on a stranger's choices - food or otherwise. :s :* They deserve the rudest response possible!

I turned 60 in December, retired in January. Joined MFP in January 2017 and have lost 45ish lbs. The last 4-5 to goal seem the be the most difficult - been struggling with those for the last 6 months! Pretty active (running, cycling, hiking, kayaking) but my challenge is balancing that with other commitments.

I'm in for this challenge. I've been struggling with the last 4 lbs for the last 6 months (!!!) and a lot of that struggle relates to late night snacking...... This month so far: Me: 0 LNS: 2

@tammierlewis - exactly that! I'm stubbornly hanging on to my goal (156) because deciding to accept my current weight feels too much like giving up!

Signed up for a 10 mile/16 km running event in late May. Last time I ran this event was about 10 years ago and am now actually slightly lighter and certainly healthier than I was then. Hoping to complete in under two hours.

Spent the morning thrift shop clothing shopping with a girlfriend. I keep a list of things that I am looking for and, today, was able to find most of the things on my list (NSV #1) .....in the smallest sizes I've worn for a long time (NSV # 2)! My friend has also lost some weight and she was delighted to find a few things…

Get (and use) a food scale. That was the biggest eye-opener ever!
