It should recognize it, but you can also add the exercise manually and it will adjust the calories based on the start time and duration you list. i tend to just leave mine on and let it do it's thing unless I'm doing something that will skew the results (pushing something, swimming, etc.)

Life is all about moderation! I tend to eat a fairly unprocessed diet, but I don't stress when I eat something processed (like the reese puffs cereal I had for breakfast this morning...). It's about finding a balance that's sustainable for you instead of a flash diet you're going to have trouble maintaining.

I would say that it's included as part of the "lightly active". I know that a lot of people set themselves as sedentary and then add in all exercise manually.
