I just fit in more sweets with my calories, don't exercise during the heavy/painful days, and will eat maintenance on the one extra hungry day I know I'm going to have. The first one after starting I had was in December, days before the holidays, so I ended up eating at maintenance for like 4 days because.. chocolate. It…

Thanks for taking the time to write all that out! I have been tested for Celiac, and it was negative. Since you can't take the test unless you're eating gluten, she wanted to test me first before cutting it out. So that's the good news. This is basically the first step in figuring out my (assumed) food sensitivities. And…

Lots of great ideas, thanks everyone! It's mostly for my skin (rosacea) as we try to figure out all my triggers. Unfortunately, sweat is one of them, but not much I can do to stop sweating during workouts. The dermatologist next wants to check the most common foods that tend to cause flare-ups, which are gluten and dairy.…

When I was in the 140s, I was between an 8 and 10, depending on the style. I'm 5'6. It's crazy how different women's bodies can be! Right now, my sister and I are close to the same height, weigh the same, and our clothes sizes are wayyyy different just because our bodies are shaped differently.

Using products without sulfates and parabens is a good start, and you can find a lot of affordable products that don't have them. Shea Moisture has quite a few that are awesome for curly hair. You don't have to do the curly girl method, but you can definitely try it. My hair is naturally curly/wavy, and I straighten it…

No no no no no. Ignore anyone who tells you anything "is the enemy". You know when I stopped binging every day? When I stopped restricting entire food groups. When I got off Weight Watchers and I stopped trying to do Keto and Paleo and Whole30. With the exception of food allergies or sensitivities, this is completely…

I have protein shakes most mornings, but it's not the only part of my breakfast. It's usually with my coffee (I mix them together), then I will also have a banana, sometimes banana and almond butter, eggs, etc. That together is usually enough to keep me full for a few hours. If you blend yours instead of using the premade…

Yes and no, but not because I'm eating out. It's more that I have become picky about where I use my calories if I'm not eating at home. I will save calories for something I absolutely LOVE, but 500+ calorie crappy fast food burgers are no longer worth it to me. Unless it's more of a convenience thing, like that's all I can…

Lol you're not the only one. I think it's funny :P LIterally the only reason is because I thought of it, it made me laugh, and it represents my (sarcastic) personality a lot.

I don't really have a "this is rock bottom" moment. I had tried for years and years, just because of how I felt and I didn't feel confident in my own skin. This time around, I think I just ran out of reasons NOT to.

I watch sugar, but only because my rosacea acts up if I have too much of it. And when I do have it, I try to have it from natural sources (like fruit and veg). The last few days it has been a bit higher, and i can feel the difference. It's annoying having another macro to track, but also my skin burns and itches when it…

Thanks! I am starting next week since i wanted to get through all the groceries I had literally JUST bought before going to the doctor. I agree, I don't really want to just use substitute products. Even if I only end up doing the 2 weeks, my stomach would probably like a little less processed food anyway.

To answer your question, yes it can be different each time. this was totally me. 10-ish years ago, I would always lose like 7-10 lbs the first week. ALWAYS. Now, it's a little different. This time around I lost maybe 1-2 lbs the first week, almost nothing weeks 2 and 3, and then back to around 2 lbs a week after that. I…

I'm on week 8 and I have mini wooshes every week pretty much. If that's what you call them. Basically I will be the same weight for like 5 of 6 days (I weigh daily obviously), then around day 7 or sometimes the next week, my weight goes down 2-4 pounds. I still average a loss of 2 lbs a week, but it's not like a slow…

I also recommend a doctor visit and maybe keeping a food diary. Your doctor will want to see it so they can figure out if you are having a reaction to certain foods or what is going on.

Yes! I was honestly surprised because I ate enough to be more than the 250-260 I always found myself at. And you do get comfortable - you feel ok at that size because you're used to it, you know what size clothes you wear and where to buy them. It's that much harder to make the decision to do something about it.

Wow so amazing!!!

Motivation is temporary, unfortunately. Everyone gets to a certain point where you just have to be determined and dedicated and try your best, without the motivation. I can say that for me, I have started and stopped millions of times over the last 10 years, and one day, it just worked and I stuck to it. It's been 8 weeks,…

Oh hell. Honestly, someone who ate as much as me should have been at least twice my size. It wasn't a lot in each meal (not a volume eater unless I'm snacking), but 99% of my diet was either fried food, fast food, or sugar, sugar and tons of sugar. Almost no fruits and vegetables, never had whole grains, if I ate at home…

Fruit is my favorite snack. Bananas are super filling and around 100 calories (Depending on the size). Sometimes I'll grab a Justin's nut butter pack since they're portioned into individual servings. They're a little more at like 190 calories, but at least there is no weighing or measuring you have to do.

Yikes

Hah yeah super true. Whenever I read about why people like it, they almost always say they love that it helps them to control their calories haha.

Dr. Berg comes to mind lol. I don't even think he's a doctor. Isn't he like a chiropractic or something? I used to watch his videos when I was doing Keto (ugh), but when he claimed you could avoid loose skin by doing Keto, I was like umm dude no.

Dr Fung pushes intermittent fasting, which naturally reduces your calories anyway. Most of these diets where "Calories don't matter" still restrict your calories without you realizing it, so that's kind of when I accepted it was all calories in, calories out.
-
I have found personally the amount I eat overall helps way more than any individual food choices. My compulsive overeating and binging comes from not eating enough or over-restricting, then I'm starving, and lose all self-control. When I eat the amount of calories i am supposed to eat (including exercise calories), I have…

Hi Rose. Feel free to add me! I am a compulsive eater and binge eater, that is *mostly* under control over the last 6-ish weeks. I think I have had a few bad days in that amount of time. My diary is open to friends.

Gaining weight is not "so much easier" than losing weight for people who are genetically predisposed to being thinner. I have many friends who struggle to gain weight just as much as I struggle to lose weight. That rhetoric needs to stop right there. Nobody should be talking about anyone else's size, weight, workouts, or…

Making a decision. Small talk. Riding in an elevator with a stranger and not having a panic attack out of pure awkwardness.

Same! I do ok now with most foods, but get some liquor in me, and it's over.
