Here is a video of a bit of classical conditioning at play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTWopzBJFyY

As I don't have Apple I can not help you with syncing your watch to Pacer but to sync and unsync from your phone to MFP you do it using the Apps tab from MFP.
-
It isn't the watch or app itself which is buggy with calorie burn, but the way the app syncs with MFP to determine the calorie adjustments where there are issues.
-
There is a bug with syncing between Apple watch and MFP so with the two synced together your estimated burn will be way off. To get around this install Pacer onto your phone. Unsync your Apple watch from here and sync it to Pacer instead. Sync Pacer to MFP. This will give you a more accurate amount of calories you need to…

Pick me, pick me. I lost almost 80 pounds and have kept it off for over 2 years simply by counting calories. Keto was never going to work for me as it wasn't sustainable long term. It is also not an advisable way for me to eat when I am at a high risk of bowel cancer.

The first thing you should do is start to weigh every single thing that enters your mouth. No guessing, no using measuring cups and spoons, but using a digital kitchen scale. When I say weigh everything, I mean everything including prepackaged foods, oil etc using for cooking, sauces, dressings and other condiments. Why?…

You can view yourself as being a victim or a survivor. Rather than thinking that everything isn't fair, think of it as "I have survived this so far and can come out the other end". Look at all of your strengths rather than where you feel you are a failure. Counselling to change that mindset would be beneficial. You could…

This is exactly what I was thinking. Just logging my food made me aware of what I was eating and when and this alone made a huge difference. I didn't need a reduced eating time to do this, but I understand that this could be beneficial for others.

As a weight loss product apple cider vinegar is a great cleaning product.

I didn't woo you but I would argue the point you made that hunger makes you sharper. This might be the case for some people, but hunger can also affect a persons ability to concentrate and sometimes even the ability to think straight. I would never say I am of a sharper frame of mind when I am hungry because the opposite…

I have only glanced through some of these comments but I wonder whether you clarified with the doctor what he/she meant by low carb. Low carb can be anything under 150 grams of carbs a day by definition and does not have to be keto. If that is the only information you got then I'd be seeking further advice, either from the…

Did you stay within your calories for maintenance? Did you enjoy spending that time cooking with your children? Did you enjoy eating the cookies together afterwards? If you are answering yes then you haven't messed up. You have created some fond memories to treasure.

I'd so love to be 16 years old again. It was at that age where I knew everything. Weird how the older I get, the more I come to realise how much I don't know!
-
I really wonder how I managed to lose weight and keep it off for several years while having something to eat not long before bed. It must be a miracle. That or you have no idea between fact and fiction.
-
I suspect that is actually NEAT at sedentary. I just put my stats into MFP and it came back with a NEAT of 1210. Granted I am 5 cm shorter than OP and already at maintenance but it wouldn't be far fetched if the OP got a NEAT calorie allowance of 1348 to maintain her current weight. OP when you are short you really have to…

Personally, I would start by buying a cheap secondhand one first to see how much you will actually use it. Many spend megabucks on exercise equipment only for them to become dust collectors.

Well, you learn something new every day. The saturated fat amounts wouldn't work for many protein bars though that are whey-based. In saying that, none of my protein bars listed vegetable oil anyway. They tended to list sunflower or canola oil instead. The best thing is that the Lindt chocolate doesn't have any oil in its…
-
I just did the same after reading your post. I went through all the processed foods that I have in the house that I regularly consume, from icecream, protein bars, protein powder, almond milk, and chocolate (gotta love Lindt) and not a single one of them contains palm oil. Things could be different in Australia though.

There are plenty of dressings that are anything but evil! In fact, evil is really a silly thing to say about any food. Psst lime, black pepper and a pinch of salt is still, by definition a dressing.

People are saying it is a lot because it is more than double the standard serving. Having such a high carb breakfast is also crowding out both fat and protein, both of which are typically more satiating. You should be aiming for at least 20 grams of protein with every meal. Not only will this most likely help with hunger…
-
If it were me I'd first be looking at adding more protein and volume. 85 grams oatmeal is a large serving. Reduce that to 50 grams at most and add egg whites and greek yoghurt to it. I personally would find it much more filling. For lunch I would half the amount of cheese and add in double, if not more, of the amount of…

Those smaller strides might be easier for you but there is a huge difference between the distance covered with a small stride for you and a small stride for me when I am not even 5 foot. While it would not make much difference for me whether I walked the mile with smaller strides or larger strides it would make a…
-
I partially agree with where you are coming from but can't fully agree with that. So much depends on your height which will affect your stride length. If you and I were exactly the same weight but you were a foot taller, who would burn the most after walking a mile? I would have to take a much larger number of steps to…

This is really something that only a doctor can answer because it is easy for us to be in denial about many aspects of our lives.

How can spending some quality time with family celebrating, not be worth at most 1 pound in weight gain? This tiny amount of weight can be lost in no time but those special memories will last forever.

What I have many mornings

This happens to me also. It is because 1200 at lightly active is less than 500 calorie deficit. Changing it to a higher activity level is still less than a 500 calorie a day deficit. For me, I had to go to very active with a 1/2 pound a week loss before it increased it above 1200. In the end, I stuck with the 1200 calories…
-
No it didn't. MFP will never give you a goal under 1200 calories.

It does make sense, I just don't know how accurate it is. Meat loses moisture when it is cooking. This is saying that 150 grams of raw meat would weigh 100 grams once it is cooked ie 50 grams of water is lost. To be most accurate though you would need to weigh your piece of meat raw, as how much weight is lost will depend…
