That's what I thought I might need to do. Thank you!

I used to ride quite a bit both as a kid growing up (road and yard), then got into in my 20s (singletrack, and other paths available!) Yesterday I got back on after about 17 years and 100 more lbs. I was really embarrassed about having to stop to rest a couple times on only a 5 mile ride, but it still felt so good...and so…

Mostly water (tap, from a spring-fed well.) Water with breakfast then coffee for the morning, then back to water. Occasionally decaf iced tea (that I brewed with my well water.) I've always preferred water, but I'm sure I'm still not drinking enough. I wish standard (i.e.cheap) water bottles had measurements on them so I…

I was just curious, because it has been suggested that stress can affect weight loss in a negative way, not necessarily because of stress eating itself, but the body just doesn't cooperate and hangs onto the pounds, and I wondered if anyone had experienced that. Thank you for all the suggestions! It is pretty stressful at…

Down 3.4 this morning. Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it! Haha! Still haven't made the progress I should have, but I'm very, very impatient when it comes to this!! Really only down about 6 pounds and it's been almost 3 months. I think maybe I sabatoged myself when I started diving into the 45 minute Zumba plus…

Seeing pictures of what I used to look like, and inheriting my grandmother's furniture - lots of mirrors that I didn't have before!! I have a very active daughter, and I really miss being active myself, particularly mountain biking. It would also be nice to fit in an auditorium seat again, find clothes that fit right, and…

I went off the grid for a couple weeks...I'm Orthodox so we had a lot of church during Holy Week, and I felt my focus should be there, then the next week I found I was just plain tired. Looks like I already gained 4.5 lbs back. Yikes! Took me 2 months to take 7 off! We'll try and get back on track now, though I'm still…

I've been slowly gaining a lot of weight since my 20s (even when I was in the Army.) I've known it, I've made attempts to lose it with very little success - gained a lot more very quickly over the last year at the same time they discovered a thyroid nodule. Passed a threshold I never thought I'd ever see in my entire life.…

I crave sodium. For me, sodium is like chocolate is for other people. When I started tracking my sodium I was a little blown away at how much I consume every day, but my blood pressure's great, despite my weight. Just concerned about water retention with the amount I eat every day so I'm trying to watch that now, too.

I've surprisingly been at the same weight 3 days in a row (give or take a tenth of a pound). That's the first time I haven't had a rollercoaster up or down, at least since I've been regularly paying attention. Hoping that means my body's adjusting, and I'll see a dip here soon. I'm only cautiously optimistic though!…

I'm in the same boat! I'm finishing up my 2nd month...so tired, getting hungrier, and I don't feel like I have much to show for it! Thyroid may be part of my issue but I did wonder if my body's going through an adjustment period.

I knew what you meant, and I'm taking the same approach as well!
-
@CallaLilyNess Haha - I'll admit I barely made it to the end, and I've only done it once...usually it's more like 20 minutes. I'm hoping to do 45 at least a couple times a week until I can build up to doing it every day! Survived a 12 year old roller skating party...boy have they changed since I was 12. Half the girls…

Will do on the recipes! Good news on the scale today...finally back down (almost...within a few tenths of a pound.) Aaannnd...tonight is my daughter's official birthday dinner at my parents' place with her choice...Grandpa's country barbecued ribs, mashed potatoes, etc. Just in time!! HAHA! Not to mention her party…

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't really have to eat soup at all, it was just fairly low-calorie and easy to heat up at work. Hit the spot after my walks in the snow too, but I'll want something else for the summer anyway. I'll look around and see what lunchtime recipes I can find!

Holy sodium!! I hadn't been tracking sodium because I was focusing on other things, but when I switched it to start tracking it today, discovered I'm doubling, some days even tripling my recommended sodium intake. There might be part of my problem! Even when I'm 300 net calories under my goal, and way under in the sugars,…

In all seriousness, I think one of mine is the fact that I'm always really hungry when I get home from work. If we have leftovers (which we often do since it's just me and my daughter), no problem - we eat shortly after I get home. If not, the wait while I make dinner is difficult - I have to resist snacking and I often…

Maybe this doesn't belong in this thread, but is there somewhere to get a comparison for your net calorie consumption just like the exercise diary has for your daily and weekly exercise goals vs completed? It's a nice little snapshot - I'd be interested in seeing a comparison just like that for the food. I realize you can…

Time, patience, money, staying away from salty chips...oh wait, only two? ;)
-
Whew! Haha! :) As much as I love Chinese food/chips (not as crazy about pizza, but it was pizza and movie weekend for my daughter) I wasn't hungry enough to eat THAT far over my goal, so that makes me feel much better!

We've tried pretty much everything out there. This is just where we are right now - I was more or less empathizing with other parents dealing with ADHD and the stress that can go along with it in relationship to the weight loss journey. I do appreciate the suggestions, it's just been a long 6 years of trial and error.

Ugh...I had finally seen the scale start to move, and my daughter's 12th birthday was this weekend. Yes, it's my fault...it was a cheat weekend. We had cheesy breadsticks and pizza (though in my defense, I really didn't eat much for each meal at one time!), a piece of cake, veggie chips, etc, and last night my parents took…

I'm just curious - does anyone else find it challenging to measure yourself? On my end, getting accurate, consistent measurements while working around all the lumps and curves is frustrating at times! Hard to keep the tape measure straight :)

Mine has ADHD as well. I still struggle with it from time to time. I'm not a medication person so it's hard for me to grasp the fact that we haven't gotten to the root of the problem and fixed it (she was also diagnosed at 6), rather than just make it possible for her to function, but that's where we are. Mobile therapy…

Single working mom of pre-teen here (turns 12 on St. Patrick's Day!) Most of my days are a bit frazzled - she has some extra challenges so it's been really hard to work in much of a routine. I'm very, very tired at times, but things seem to be smoothing out, at least somewhat so hopefully I can get back into dedicating a…

Thanks for all the feedback! It's good to know that option is out there - I don't need to lose 70 pounds before I think about getting back to running again. Never enjoyed it 100% but after discovering a couple health-related issues in recent years, I think I know why I never enjoyed it. Anxious to get back to mountain…

I used to run when I was in the military (and much smaller!) As much as I love running (note the sarcasm), I know it's better cardio than just walking, so it's good to know I may have been overly concerned about that. My concern wasn't the weight alone, it's the fact that it's all concentrated in one area in my body, on my…

That makes sense - (though what's funny is, I like to eat, so it's surprising I'm that far under, but my appetite has decreased a TON so I've really cut back my portions naturally, and cut out the Doritos.) So if my goal is 1500 and I'm burning 450, I should really be eating about 1725 to keep me at around 1500 so my…

When I pulled my report for the week, it looks like it happened on a few days last week. The other couple days I had a net of around 1300.

I think they're making clothes smaller (and as she said it might be a manufacturer issue as well). I went looking for a new coat at the beginning of winter...the one I'm still wearing is a 1X. It actually fits fairly well, just can't button the bottom button because of where all my weight is. The coats I tried on this time…
