From what I gathered, about everything non-genetic about cancer is related to time & exposure, a very gradual thing. With +150lbs, I would be more concerned about my heart, blood pressure and glycaemia. Any weight loss with the right food will improve thiem probably much quicker than the cancer risk.

On what basis you think you need more proteins? What is your parameter? Actual proteins deficiency is extremely rare.

You made a broad generalization and your source seems to refer to refined grains, not all of them. 'Natural' carbs are fine. One of the most fit 'population' in the world are the Sherpas in the Himalayans; they are relying heavily on carbs, even processed. I found this short video interesting @ 6:45…

I tried to find a substitute for YEARS.... came back with the original one.... butter.... 40-50g a week. It just fits nicely in my log. I don't use it in a pan for example, I prefer canola oil in spray or vegetable broth.

In January I tested four alcohol-free beers and here are my ratings. Heineken 0.0; 7/10 53kcal 250ml Beck; 7/10 only 45kcal 330ml Carlsberg ; 8/10 bet bang for the buck, 70kcal for 500ml Krombacher: 9/10 this one came as a surprise, the most normal tasting beer, 90kcal for 330ml

Another dry January...let's drink to that!...not. :p

En route for another dry January this year (3 days to go!). :) I had the same phenomenon as last year; I started being 'bloated' for more than 2 weeks, up to Jan 17th my weight was a plateau, and then it came down 4 lbs in the last 11 days. Another important change I made more recently; cut the cafeine. I was drinking 5-6…

You can get a cheaper Apple Watch 4 or 5, if 6 sounds expensive. I would not go with the Fitbit option if you already have an Iphone - the Apple Watch is a better overall package with better BPM accuracy. Being in the Android's world, I am pleased with my Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch 46mm. Almost as well-rounded as the Apple…

So true. In the meantime, there is no objective evidence that masks wearing and social distancing even worked. They made litterally no dent or change in the curves. I have some cases my family. Trump, Macron and Johnson all got it with no complications. I am at the point that we must stop all those…

True. We now know that your intake of calories is early in the day, there will be less absorption than if you take everything in the night for example. CICO is a good rule of thumb, but requires some nuances.

I am not happy that my weight loss has mysteriously stopped since the Holidays. I WAS losing weight last even if I drank (too much) all the fall. Then I turned Turkey dry.... no more weight loss in 12 days lol.... my log is duly maintained and I weight even food like the butter and peanut butter. I started doing…

Unbelievable how bloated I am almost 2 weeks after being AF and recording everything. I was losing weight in the fall, not since.

Why Santa Claus has no child? Becoming he is coming once a year and using the back door.

I prefer the taste of the meat but I don't trust much what is inside these burgers. I eat them at the restaurants. At home I found one that I am very pleased with; Sol Cuisine Black Beans burgers. It has not much proteins though. But 90 cal is hard to beat. https://solcuisine.com/products/spicy-black-bean-burger/

x2. I just watched it on Netflix. It is only one side, which annoys me. Nonetheless it is very well done.

Absolutely. "More plant-based" as opposed as exclusively plant-based. I found nutritionfacts.org on youtube back in 2015, after having lost 85lbs. About 80% made sense and I quickly detected the agenda which makes the site name half truths, with cherry pickings here and there. Still very relevant in my opinion and I…

There is a already a good thread on this. ;) https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10782402/if-a-calorie-is-a-calorie-why-do-we-see-this#latest

Today I tried the Walmart's Ultimate Meatless Burger. It is inexpensive compared to others. https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/great-value-the-ultimate-meatless-burger/6000200049103 Not bad for what it is. The only burger of this type that I really enjoyed was the Impossible Burger in a BK's Whopper.

No, not all illnesses only infectious ones. Did you open the link? First line; Infectious diseases kill over 17 million people a year:
-
Infectious diseases are common. WHO mentions 17 millions of person in a year (a while ago). https://www.who.int/whr/1996/media_centre/press_release/en/ This is on the high side, but I have seen between 5-10M elsewhere. Just tuberculosis is probably 1.5-2.0M. This site mentions 2.56M because of pneumonia, another infectious…

It comes from misinformation or fear. Japan is often considered the golden standard. However according to Worldometers, there are 40% of the countries in the world that have less deaths by M. All the Asian zone is low death, masks or not. And they have no idea what is social distancing either, as they are stacked up. You…

I had a dry January, not excessive February and March. April and May, all hell broke loose...my goal is no more alcohol unless we have invitees or out for social occasions.

Here is a different view on the same subject. The young man is a good presenter and his personal experience is also a good testimony, although all his cited references were already mentioned above. More on this starting at 4:00m, but the thermogenesis part earlier in his video is also interesting.…

Looking for an AF May like I did in January. Doable. I can't think enough that by-products of digested alcohol can be bad if always present in the body.

OP, even without premium you still have access to the daily cholesterol intake (max recommended 300mg daily). When done with your day ---> at the bottom [Complete his entry] ---> next page you'll see [View Full Report] I am a believer in low total cholesterol in blood. When the subjects are at a <150 level, coronary…

Sunny side up, and the yolk goes in the thrash.

I'd buy an Apple Watch 4 or 5 in a minute.... if I was already in the Apple world. Criteria for me would the accuracy of the heart monitor, durability of a charge (a week please) and interface. I didn't find my ideal smartwatch yet so I continue to use my trusty Wahoo chest wrap with my cell.

Looks like an honeymoon moment. :) I think a plant-based diet (not veganism - too controversy) is a great idea.... that I don't follow. I eat little meat, typically two times a week. To maintain a low cholesterol (sub 150) is also another goal of mine. 131 is gold,
-
Just maintaining an healthy weight according to the recommended ranges won't do that. You have to be more aggressive than that and aim for closer to the lower limit.
