  • We, Canadians, deserve more allowed calories per day in order to survive that insane cold weather (-31 deg C this morning)
  • This picked my curiosity and it appears that you are correct. https://www.becel.ca/en/products/becel-light-margarine Then I learn that you can't bake, cook or fry with Becel Light... I used it in my broccoli & mushrooms casserole, to enhance the taste. For what I do, now I know that I should not use Becel Light but…
  • I prefer butter but I typically go with Becel light margarine just because of low calorie. Technically margarine has this little "problem" as coming with trans-fat but overall, assuming a relatively low consumption in either case, it is hair-splitting.
  • Well some people just can't deal that others have a different point of view. Whether they have the capacity to recognize them as 'legitimate' or not is not really a point.
  • I am no vegan, but I did cut my meat/dairies consumption by factor and also eat less eggs. I have two meat meal per week and I enjoy my Feta 2-3 times per week.
  • Indoor is better than nothing. APR to NOV I use my bicycle almost daily. For the rest I do indoor cycling. One thing I observed is that going outdoor I maintain a pace of 135-140bpm easily. Indoor I get tired quick maintaining above 125. I control the humidity, I suspect the CO concentration is the factor.
  • I rest my case. There should have been more type of fats in the 6th graph.
  • The graph you are probably referring to says "Except for fats".
  • "Salad and cooking oils"? I think that the listing in the 6thgraph is really too short... Where is fat from Cheese and meat.
  • Tried both Pure and Kirkland in the last days. Kirkland wins hand down.
  • IMO, despite some glitches he got the essential right (and died at the enviable age of past 96yo mind you).
  • Success with just the egg whites. It even creates a better texture .
  • janejellyroll... you can continue alone, we'll agree to disagree. Next thing we'll know, we'll put amateurs as University teachers because they have good arguments. Guess what? Won't happen.... lol.
  • There is a minimum. She has a total lack of credentials. She described her qualifications as "23-year-old Minger lists her educational and professional qualifications on her Facebook page as writer, Catholic school teacher, summer camp instructor, and "Professional Sock Puppeteer."" Come on...
  • Can you be even more vague? lol. Some people did accuse him with fallacious arguments and he replied to everything. The most aggressive revealed to be an amateur. http://www.vegsource.com/news/2010/07/china-study-author-colin-campbell-slaps-down-critic-denise-minger.html Anyway I value multiple sources. This one is not…
  • There is definitely scientific ground to limit dairies. This video is about a doctor who turns tumors ON and OFF just by varying the level of dairies proteins 20% and 5%. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udAYXxczdyk&feature=youtu.be&t=79 I limit my intake to 2-3oz of Feta per week. Two years ago, I replaced cow mil by…
  • I read extensively on it, arguments from Dr Mosley and I fail to see a benefit of 5:2 vs keeping an average. For my sanity and to cope with occasional social happenings, I aim at 13:1. 13 days at 1560 cal and 1 day as a cheating day. Overall is probably 1800-1850 and I still lose weight.
  • Re-read my very first sentence in this thread. I disagree with your statement (actually incorrect) and it will be for another debate.
  • Evil is in the details! ignatca, I read about the seeds. But guess what? They [flax seeds] have been part of my recipe, for a long time. I didn't know that to use them as egg substitutes, they would need to soak for so long, though. You add baking powder just at the last minute? Maybe this is one reason why my mixture gets…
  • Here is a pal for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFp1tQttgAo
  • Because of trend, not explicit in MFP. I thought that was the question.
  • trendweight.com is awesome. no app to install just a web page
  • Kaizen is one that I keep buying.
  • Keto=good way to increase the cholesterol, including the one that you don't want high.
  • Short answer: yes (and possibly resistance training exercise)
  • I have been a nutritionfacts.org follower (youtube channel) for years. The MD behind it is a strong vegan advocate. I can say that I lowered my dairy/meat intake by 75%. But I also think that those fans are wrong regarding the fat intake - some vegan doctors don't even want you to consume any oil. So if it is possible, my…
  • lol ... that's my style as well (although I have no problem being strict with net calories counting). Wish me luck for the week-end. ;)
  • Giant TCX2 2012 (cyclocross). Great bike. I replaced the large tires for narrower ones.
  • The 'plan' is to limit alcohol on my bi-weekly cheating day (1/14) and in my annual 4 weeks of vacation. Just returned from the Caribbeans .... 4-6 drinks a day was the norm. This is the 'recovering week'. Overall my alcohol consumption is still to high.
