  • I weigh myself every day (with few exceptions), and only twice have I experienced any kind of "whoosh" where the weight is stagnant for about a week and a half and then just shoots off in a day or two. Mostly it's been very consistent with me. If I stay under target I lose. If I don't, I don't.
  • August 28th: 223.0 Weight -/+ this week: -3.6 Weight -/+ this month: -8.2 Successes / struggles this week: My final weekend of the month was my monthly (until winter) "beer weekend", where I basically pay zero attention to calories from beer and drink all day. Typically that means weight gain, and I expected no different…
  • 17.2 pounds between 2/15 and 3/15.
  • I don't even get 4 a week now!
  • I've had these about 2 weeks and love them more than anything else I've worn. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B073151N42/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  • Took 3 days off after C25K W3D3. Two days of camping, drinking, and hauling heavy stuff around, then one day of recovery. Failed to complete W4D1. Well, I guess if it was always easy, it wouldn't feel so much like success at the end.

  • August 21st: 226.6 August 28th: Weight -/+ this week: +0.2 Weight -/+ this month: -4.6 Successes / struggles this week: Michigan Homebrew Festival. I knew it was going to clobber me. I'm just happy to have not really gained anything this week. Could've been much worse.
  • Maybe you need a more structured approach? I'm not sure what your workouts are like, but I do know that if anybody would have told me 6 months ago that I'd look forward to hopping on a treadmill, I'd have had them committed to a mental ward. I'm now 3 weeks into the C25K program and enjoying Rock My Run for good music…
  • Going camping this weekend, so finished W3D3 early. Two days in a row is rough. This is why we have rest days, I guess. Back to it on Sunday or Monday.
  • Working on week 3 of C25K and decided to give this app a download. How is it? This group seems a bit quiet since March...
  • August 14th: 226.4 August 21st: August 28th: Weight -/+ this week: -0.4 Weight -/+ this month: -4.8 Successes / struggles this week: Broke my goal and bounced back up. It was a rough weekend. Any progress is good progress I guess, but it's frustrating.
  • Hi, everybody! I have never been a runner before. I tried C25K a year or so ago and failed miserably at it, but in February of this year I put my mind in the right place and decided to drop some pounds. So here I am, 68 pounds later, just finishing up week 2 of C25K. My goal for this month is just to keep on with the…
  • Hit my original goal, so.... How you like me now? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVzvRsl4rEM
  • August 7th: 226.8 August 14th: August 21st: August 28th: Weight -/+ this week: -4.4 Weight -/+ this month: -4.4 Successes / struggles this week: Almost hit my goal in a single week! I've actually been annoyed that I'm stuck at 226 for 3 days in a row. Again, the real trick is going to be hitting my goal before August 17th,…
  • I recommend never just having protein powder alone. I mix it into a green smoothie, you get the flavor of the smoothie and the benefit of protein. I also recommend protein bars. There's some good ones out there. Kirkland is great, but probably not available in your area. Combat makes some tasty bars (I've got White…
  • It's possible. I did the math the other day, and I've averaged 2.75 pounds per week, including all the times I went off the rails and basically went nowhere (or even in the wrong direction) for a week. I've already lost my 60+ but still going. Looking for another 30 at least. Good luck to you on your 60!
  • Diet-wise is easy: Go back to your plan. It's water under the bridge. Emotionally is more complicated, because emotions aren't always rational, but it essentially boils down to the same thing. You have to accept that going over your calories for a day, even by a large number, is not the end of the world, it's just a…
  • I'm sure it's already been said, but I'll say it (again). Weight is lost in the kitchen, not the gym. Sure, exercise burns calories, but it's relatively tiny in comparison to your daily intake. Especially if you're not paying attention to what your intake is, because when you exercise you do work up an appetite and tend to…
  • Welcome!
  • Don't "cheat"; give yourself permission to eat whatever you want. It's OK. Really.
  • Mini goal: to drop 4 more pounds and reach THE GOAL that I started out with! Of course, I moved the goalposts on what the ultimate goal weight is, but getting down to 225 will still be an occasion for celebration for me. I also have a new goal of completing C25K. Day one was yesterday, and it went much better than…

  • July 31st: 231.2 Weight -/+ this week: -0.4 Weight -/+ this month: -9.0 Successes / struggles this week: Keep stumbling over that 230 pound mark. I broke it twice this week, but back to 231 today. Should have just logged the month yesterday!
  • PF's "judgement free zone" is a joke, but it's enough gym for me at a good price. Some day I'll outgrow it, but until then the dumbbell racks and benches work just fine. There are definitely people lifting heavier than me that are still there.
  • Wonderfully stated. There's only two types of "bad meals": 1) Meals that make you sick. 2) Meals that taste so bad you don't want to eat them. I'm down 64 pounds as of this morning, and my diet pretty frequently consists of pizza, and slightly less commonly beer. People seem entrenched in the idea that "dieting" means…
  • July 24th: 231.6 July 31st: Weight -/+ this week: -4.6 Weight -/+ this month: -8.6 Successes / struggles this week: Booyah!
  • July 17th: 236.2 July 24th: July 31st: Weight -/+ this week: -1.0 Weight -/+ this month: -4.0 Successes / struggles this week: Another beer weekend brought me back up, but still a pound shy from last Monday, so we call this good, right? I should switch my weigh-in days to Friday, though... Should be nothing but…
  • Down 57 pounds since February. Nothing here really looks like a plateau. Yeah, I've had to retake a hill occasionally, when I went crazy off the rails, but when I'm on track the loss is pretty consistent. This graph is me weighing (almost) every day.
