  • My trainer is an IFBB Pro and he's been cutting for a competition in 5 weeks. The last 8 weeks he's been having his carbs (Mostly Oats and Rice) Only Pre and Post workout. He says your body really doesnt need many carbs the rest of the day. But he does eat broccoli and stuff in other meals. He's somewhere around 6-7% bf…
  • Eat moar protein.
  • Be honest. Are you posting this because that lady was grilling you about your comment on another thread? Lol
  • My suggestion is ditch the weight gainer powder. Do your own research on it. Most of those are just whey protein shakes with lots of sugar. And cost you a ton per serving. You could be having pasta, rice, potatoes, [insert any carb here] that is probably more nutritious and cheaper.
  • Every time I see one of your posts you are arguing with someone.
  • It looks like it's time to change that username. Seriously though, don't change it. One of my friends changed it and it messed up his account and he lost all friends and history.
  • http://www.ontheregimen.com/2016/04/16/sushi/ Here we go. So I verified most of common fish on MFP are very close to this article. What isn't consistent. Is the size of the slices served at restaurants. A slice of sashimi should be about 1 oz. And the slice over rice for sushi should be about a half oz. I find some places…
  • Easy. Don't eat rolls. Eat a ton of sashimi and a some sushi. But really. If you must. One roll should have about 1 cup of rice. Regardless if they cut it in 6 or 8 pieces. On MFP, most whole rolls are logged as 6 pieces. Give me a minute. I have a great article saved some where. For sashimi and sushi.
  • Yeah just use your 176 as minimal. Probably 200 as a goal when you are on a deficit. Think about it. Do you really want to eat back all the calories you worked off? Not to mention, when calories burned gets over estimated you will be at a surplus.
  • Cardio is not necessary but can help. If you are lifting weights. And muscle retention is a priority. Do light to moderate cardio. Keep your heart rate between 60 to 70% max hr. 20-30 minute sessions. Those are ideal numbers for fat burn minimizing muscle loss.
  • Every day you weigh in... click the plus sign and add weight. You can take a progress photo. You can also add notes to your news feed on the same post as the weigh in photo.
  • Make sure you are highlighting the days of the week you are setting your goals for. You might have set your goals for just 1 day. Also, I recommend this to everyone trying keto. Don't focus so much on high fat everything and adding butter to things just because. Try to increase you protein intake as well, you'll find that…
  • I don't listen to anything. I like listening to my breathing when I lift.
  • Keep protein high everyday. Weekends, up your carbs and lower your fats. Do low carbs on the week days, Under 80g. And preferably eat ur carbs before and after your workouts. You will shred during the week. Lots of water.
  • While losing weight. I wouldn't worry about going out of your way to ADD good fats to your diet. You already have a limited number of calories for the day. No need to blow 340 calories on 2 oz of Almonds just because it's "good" fat. Once you hit your goals you can add those healthy fats to your maintenance calories.
  • 800 calories is way too low. Do you do any kind of exercise? My wife is your size and I have her on 1440 calories a day. High protein. At least 110g. She dropped 7 lbs of Fat in the first 40 days. But goes to the gym 4 times a week and lifts weights. If you don't exercise. Then do at least 1200 calories and be more patient…
  • What does MFP say as far as grams of carbs fats proteins for your breakfast? No way of knowing how lean your protein powder is.
  • My guess is you are right at or just below 15%. I agree with the above. 10-12% is ideal base. I'd just cut another 4 weeks or so and do it right. I'm pretty skinny and I'm cutting to 10-12% before I start I'm 6 feet and I'm going to be about 165 at 10%. I don't care if I look skinny. I plan on cycling from 10 to 16%.
  • Body can't burn that much fat per day. Then body can burn that much fat per day but only if you have a ton of fat. Then if you do intense cardio, the exercise will you 100% calories from what you ate. And the organs will be left with not enough. Even if you ate like 20 hrs ago. Sorry I don't think it's so black and white.…
  • Or if you plan to work out in a fasted state. Other wise don't waste the money. Just eat high protein.
  • If you look at all the latest Broscience that have been backed by real science. That is exactly their recommendation whether losing gaining or maintaining. Calculate calories needed. Set minimum protein for muscles, set minimum fats for hormones and joints, and fill the remaining calories with whatever tickles your fancy.
  • I don't track exercise on mfp. I have an avg 2050 calories. But my maintenance is 2450. Workouts (heavy lifting 60-70 mins followed by 30 minutes cardio at 135 heart rate.) Probably take me near 3000 calories for maintenance. So I been doing close to 1000 calorie deficit almost every day for 55 days. Feeling more energetic…
  • Ladies, only time you should have a shake is after a workout, IF you are anal about trying to minimize muscle loss while you a losing weight. 120g of protein should not be hard to reach with food alone. Just change your mindset when setting your plate. Be generous with your meats. 6-8 oz of chicken breast or fish is…
  • There was a typo on the carbs in the otherone anyways. Calories, 1950, protein 120g, fat 40g, Carb 275. But that's assuming 110 lbs and 22% bodyfat.
  • Oh Look, I missed the female part. NO WAY you are 12% body fat. New numbers. For let's say 22% body fat.
  • Harmonic you need to give us your weight and body fat for us to give you a more accurate number. But I'll give you an example assuming you weight 110 and are really low body fat, 12%. Assuming you are going to hit the gym and lift heavy at least 4 times a week. 2150 calories. Minimum 120g of protein. Minimum 43g of fat.…
  • If you are on a deficit, trying to retain muscle while you lean out. Lift then 20-30 mins of cardio at 60-70% max heart rate. That's like 135 bpm for a 30 year old. Get your heart rate too high for too long and you go catabolic real quick.
  • It would be a lot easier to determine if it is an issue if you gave us details of how many calories you ate. How much exercise you did and how many calories MFP is saying you burned.
  • I've lost 14. Got about 13 to go.
