  • Thanks for sharing these. I’m learning I have a lot to learn!
  • Yes, thanks. Next time I’ll change my wording to “junk food” 😄
  • Thanks for the clarification. My experience with myself was if I eat the same number of calories but it’s crap I’ll maintain, but if it’s high quality I lose. If I ate a few fewer calories of crap, I suppose I’d still ultimately lose. You did a better job of phrasing it.
  • Yes & no. @Fitnessflexibility has a good point. The quality of the calories matter. If you’re not able to make drastic changes overnight, just take one thing each week or so to change. So, say you’re drinking 3-5 sodas a day. If all you do is change that to one soda a day and replace the other 2-4 with water, that’s saving…
  • Yup, there now with WW. I’m proud to be a ww “failure.” I still have about a month left in my three month membership but won’t be renewing. The first day the leader told me to “learn how to eat the foods that got you here.” I took that to heart...but weight watchers’ current program is set at eating fat free & sugar free…
  • I’ve been steadily losing (I’m at 19.6 down) and haven’t taken up a specific exercise program. Occasionally I’ll go for a long walk but it probably averages once every couple weeks.
  • I totally understand the “being on 24/7,” even when you’re “off.” There’s no off when you’re the sole caregiver. Do you have any local in-person-flesh & blood support? Someone up the thread mentioned respite care. Is it possible to take advantage of that, if only for a few hours? As far as weight loss goes, I’ve found it…
  • I love the idea of intuitive eating but the living it out...yeah, I fall flat on my face every time. I do great tracking and 95% of the time have no problem staying at or just under my daily calorie goal, but any time I have decided to eat intuitively I suddenly intuit my body needs the entire pint of ice cream and a few…
  • I’m a fulltime carer, too, and it can be very isolating. It’s also hard not having local support. If you’re ever interested, we could talk via Skype. Obviously I can’t take the day to day load off, but maybe talking with someone in a similar position could help with a bit of the emotional load.
  • Yup! I’ve been losing way too fast for my comfort (tbh, it’s been a good newbie incentive to keep going, but soooo not how I wanna be losing weight over the long haul). The week I set it for “maintain” and then ate all my weeklies plus all my fitpoints and still lost .6lbs was when I realized it was time to start looking…
  • That’s been my biggest issue with it. I’m tired of hard boiled eggs, never been a fan of chicken, and I’m not touching sugar-free anything except gum! I don’t do fat free, either, bit that’s because fat fills me up and I typically donate like the flavor of fat free. Those two things mean the past couple days tracking I’ve…
  • When I started I put together a list of healthy foods that I enjoy. From there I made a list of things I wanted at the store. That was week one. The next time I went to the store I pulled out that list again and decided on some new things and a few repeats. When I make meals I just make sure I eat a large portion of…
  • Late 30’s here. Working on overcoming dysfunctional eating habits I’ve had since childhood. Good to be here. I’ve been with Weight Watchers for a couple months but lately my goals for myself are the meshing well with their program so when my three months is up I’m not renewing.
  • I’m trying, too. I’ve been on ww since late July. I’ve experienced good weight loss but yesterday started doing this, too. I’m wanting to track things I can’t with ww. I’ve used mfp before and I’m glad for ww to help in certain ways but I’m starting to consider not renewing my membership when it expires in Oct and using…
