An apple or potato that comes in a bag or container is no different than one without packaging. Your jerky is unlikely to be very different than jerky from a package. As for washing - I don't wash meat or nuts but they're still natural. There are a lot of healthy foods which come in packages and/or don't require washing.…

There are a lot of people who don't make changes (of one sort or another) because they're afraid of what the results might be. If this is something you want to get a handle on it you might want to talk to someone about it (a therapist maybe?) Other than that, some positive thinking might help. If you stop putting yourself…

Eating slowly is supposed to help you realise when you've reached satiation. But at the same time, there was a diet craze in the early twentieth century that had people chewing each bite a lot and that didn't help people loose weight. So I really don't know. If it helps you do it I guess?

All they're doing is reporting a study that's been done. How can it be "fake"? Whether or not it works for people in general is another matter. I've read other articles that say similar things so I'd say it'd work well enough as long as people only took the break they intended and didn't go back to eating what they we're…

Walking's one of the few types of exercise that I'm able to do. I usually walk five or six days a week and it helps a lot (the amount of kilojoules I'm allotted is fairly low so increasing them helps me to stay on track. It's also good for my health.)

Everything I've read in the last few years says that you can skip periods for as long as you want perfectly safely. This article says that the only side effect is break through bleeding or spotting. http://www.arhp.org/Publications-and-Resources/Patient-Resources/fact-sheets/Understanding-Menstrual-Suppression This article…

I don't get enough fibre. I often go over in sugar and sometimes salt but that doesn't bother me.
-
I like porridge (using ordinary rolled oats) made with milk and a little cinnamon. Sometimes I add a few berries.
-
I used to use a cup and didn't find it made a difference. Some people say it helped them though.

I'm actually pretty great at eating intuitively. Unfortunately, I like sweet things that have a lot of kilojoules and I'm pretty sedentary. If I cut out most the sweet things I would loose weight easily (I've done it before) but it's not sustainable for me so therefor I need to count kilojoules.

I was "naturally thin" and never had to think about what I ate. Back then I was pretty active (I walked a lot and generally had a lot going on). I also tended to miss meals because I was busy. I also hated being full and stopped eating when I was pleasantly comfortable. These days I'm not well so I'm pretty sedentary and I…

I get snacky in the evenings and could easily eat as many kilojoules as a snack as I do for dinner. It's easier for me to just not eat after a certain time. I usually have a small snack before that time and then I know I can't have anything else. It also helps me sleep better if I haven't eaten too much to close to bedtime.

Agreed. I wouldn't bother. It seems like another fad designed to make money.

Honestly, from what I can see via google, most waist trainers aren't reducing the waist by much, if at all. They're more like spanx than a corset so organ displacement isn't a factor. Even if it was, whilst organ displacement sounds horrific your body is quite capable of it as it's necessary during pregnancy. Whether it's…

I don't really know anything about waist trainers so I'm going to talk about corsets which I do know about. If your waist trainer isn't made with steel bones and non-stretchy fabric then it will have less effect than a corset. It's impossible to train your waist permanently. People have reduced their waists using corsets…

I go approximately every three days. Because that's normal for me it's not a problem. It's when that changes that it becomes uncomfortable! If the OP isn't constipated I would advise not worrying about it.

I had been losing weight when I got mine (I only did it once). I didn't gain weight but I couldn't seem to keep losing either. Once the shot wore off I went back to losing as I had been.

I was on this medication a while back and didn't have any trouble with weight gain. I don't have any advice, sorry, but try to remember that people who post about that sort of thing are the ones who've had trouble. There's a whole lot of people out there who haven't had trouble so they're not posting. Side effects (even…

For me saving less healthy foods for "special occasions" is what will make me fail because I feel deprived. I try to eat a fairly balanced diet in general but I also eat something sweet everyday. I just make sure it fits into my kilojoule count.

That sounds really horrible! I would ask your doctor to be honest. Even if they're not sure precisely, they'd have a better idea than most exactly how much nutrition is actually being absorbed by you. I would also ask if you need to get blood tests to make sure you're getting an adequate amount of key vitamins etc. (I…

I did for the first few weeks but after that I stopped being quite so obsessed.

Not for everyone, which I think is the problem really. Before I became ill (my energy levels slumped and I was put on a medication that meant I gained quite a lot of weight) I maintained a healthy weight without really thinking about it (despite the fact that I've got an incredible sweet tooth and didn't worry about how…

As long as you eat less than you burn (calories in and out) you'll loose weight. Macros may affect your satiety but not your weight loss. Personally, I eat pretty much the same as I always did just less of it (except that some treats no longer seem worth the kilojoules). I'm more satiated by volume than fats, protein or…

Well there's really only so much they can do. Surgery or hormones through the different birth control methods. I had really terrible periods during which I tried all the hormonal birth control methods except the pill (because it makes my migraines worse.) In the end I had an ablation which was one of the best things I ever…

I take B-12 (and had to have an injection to start me off when my deficiency was first discovered) because I can't absorb it properly. I was seriously deficient at the time and take a really high dose to maintain normal levels but it hasn't done anything for my weight. I was told it would make me less tired (B-12…

I assume you're taking codiene. If so, I'd go to the chemist and ask for a stool softener. Other than that, keep well hydrated.

If you eat the same meals often it helps. I eat three different breakfasts and have them all recorded as "meals" so I can record them quickly, about three or four different lunches, also recorded as "meals". The dinners I eat with any regularity are also recorded as "meals". It only takes a second to put them into mfp.…

Food is pretty morally neutral actually. That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with egg yolks (it's where most of the nutrients are) and coconut oil is really high in saturated fat. (Higher than butter.) Which is not to say that you shouldn't eat egg whites and coconut oil if you like them but depending on your…

I go for a walk every day. That gets me enough kilojoules to eat a bit more which helps. Some people find emphasizing different macros helps (eating higher fat/lower carb or higher carb/low fat or eating more protein.) Personally, I find if a meal has some protein, some carbohydrate, and some fats in it and if I can bulk…
