101 days and 39.4 lbs.

I find something little and eat it so I don't over-eat when meal time comes. Pain--actual pain, not just discomfort--is not acceptable to me. I will not stick to something that hurts me.

This is delightful and very chocolate-y and not crazy calorie-wise: http://www.kemps.com/freezer/frozen-yogurt/chocolate-peanut-butter-cup-frozen-yogurt-48oz/ I love it a whole lot as a sometimes treat.

I don't think it's very considerate for people to go in about how "gross" or "disgusting" they are and then state their weight. Chances are, someone reading has worked like crazy to get DOWN to that "disgusting" weight. I get that people need to be real about their feelings and weight gain, but it seems really thoughtless…

Honestly, if you're doing everything you said you are you are doing great, that machine is nonsense, and that trainer may have many great qualities, but expertise in that machine ain't one of them. Switch them up. Maybe in the meantime figure out what you like most about this gym and look for another that has those things…

A lot of those so-called cleansing products are a clay particle suspension. They clay itself is harmless (though the act of cleansing is not), but when it exits your digestive tract, it looks like you just evacuated a sea creature. It's snake oil, trickery, slight of hand. Health entertainment. You been had.

Did they then shove a membership renewal form in front of you? I would be skeptical of these results.

I also just work out a little more than I want to so I can squeeze in a real treat. I am not one for half measures when it comes to sweet things. A banana just won't scratch that itch!

Special K protein granola bars. The chocolate cherry one is as tasty as a candy bar and is only 150 calories. And it has a decent amount of protein--8 grams! Also...I take the gummy or chew version of vitamins whenever possible. I love candy. >_>

Taking another crack at Alan Moore's Jerusalem.

I think they're fine, though I can see the merit of your critiques. I guess I would hesitate to join a challenge if I suspected failure would derail or demoralize me. My attitude is to aim high with challenges, just to see what will happen. And if I fall short of a lofty goal, I still win.

None and I've lost 40 lbs. Riddle me this! :D

@88olds 's post is pure gold. Join us on the determined side! The time will pass and the weight will go--just keep logging and working out. It takes a long time, but you'll take so much pride in the progress you make along the way. :) As you learn other coping mechanisms, the emotional eating will stop too.

^RE: Logo shirts. We (me & male partner) stopped wearing them because of the unwanted attention. It was getting ridiculous! Which isn't to say women don't get chatted up constantly in public--it's just that logos of popular properties apparently trigger the "I must share my enthusiasm with you" response in a lot of people.

A tough week around here. I'm so sorry to hear about you little friend, @bapcarrier , and @GOINSTD12 --I would be scared to get back behind the wheel! Are you okay? My kid was sick last week, so I didn't weigh in last Wednesday. I think I've lost since then--all indications seem to point that way except the scale, which…

You'd be best served if you got closer to your set daily calorie goal, however you choose to get there. Good luck; I'm glad you're not struggling with hunger right now!

It's hard for me too. The "it gets easier" phase doesn't always come for all of us. I just have to tell myself that it's a software issue for me, and I'll be okay NOT doing my favorite thing (eating a lot of whatever whenever). I just have to plan what I'm going to eat, recognize when I do well and to treat myself to keep…

Just dropping by to offer my support! Have a great summer!

You look fabulous in any of them, but 1 is my favorite. How nice is it to have so many great options?
-
@rednote49 Exactly! And thanks for the laugh!
-
I think you're trying to be kind, so I will be kind in return. :) I am fat. I've been fat a so long, in fact, that it's had a significant impact on my socialization and identity. I've worked really hard to build a connection between how I see myself and how others see me and not to let other people's discomfort effect how…

Attraction and is important despite romantic notions about "the one" and "true love" we're all socialized to accept. True love happens through work and mutual compromise. A person is "the one" only because we want them to be. All you can do for the sake of your happiness (and health and possibly your sense of self worth)…

@jessiquoi I've noticed that having din-din outside in the lovely evening sun has been transformative to my days. It's nice to see you all!

^I'm sorry that happened to you, Julie. That is extremely rude and unprofessional, and a nurse should know better than to make a comment about -anyone's- "figure" when they're weighing in. The scale is such a fraught place to be even without a virtual stranger hanging out, making comments.
-
Before you change your post to include pictures, I'm just wondering if you've considered what you're opening yourself up to be asking strangers something like that. While a lot of people here are trustworthy and honest, you may be puting your self image in the hands of cruel people. You really don't know! Google BMI…

34 is absolutely in the "prime" range. You can start feeling a lot better by eating better, drinking less and less often, and exercising using a regular routine that won't exacerbate you past injuries. Don't blame it on age because you're like at least 20 years to the age where you should start feeling run down! You can do…

I've noticed the same thing. I used to wonder how people could stand warm weather, let alone enjoy it. I mean, I still need 1000 spf, but I don't feel that muggy/claustrophobic feeling I used to get in hot temperatures. My front garden looks all the better for it!

FABULOUS work!

I'm so happy for you!

Not an "After" pic, but there's progress. Just realized today that my head is starting to look more like how I always thought my head looked.
