  • My daughter is a mad anime fan. Funny story from her first day at uni... they played an ice-breaker game called "Me too!" where each person would stand up and say something they liked, and then anyone else who liked it would raise their hand and say "me too". Most people were saying things like art, or reading, or music…
  • I'm a chronic asthmatic with pre-emphysemic lung tissue and 60% lung capacity. I also have three chikdren in school/uni and as a massage therapist I spend an hour at a time in a small closed room with each client, touching their hands and faces etc, so I am at a high risk of exposure to whatever bug is going around. Given…
  • We have a filter on our tap, and refrigerate the water to make it taste better. Sometimes I add a slice of lemon or orange, a handful of frozen berries, or a bunch of mint leaves.
  • Thank to all who helped. Have multiplied the "per serve" numbers by 3.4 (which is how many serves in the can) then deducted the calories, fat and protein from 210ml of milk. Yay! :)
  • Ivhad no idea you could add a negative! Thanks!
  • Thanks! I wish I could "30 seconds of google" but my teen ate all our internet allowance so we are at dialup speed and it takes 5 minutes just to open the search page.
  • It doesnt have "soup only" data unfortunately. The can says to add 1/2 can if whole milk... the can is 420g.
  • We love runny yolks here too, and I suspect for some cafes etc the sight of the yolk dribbling out over your food is a bit of an "aesthetic" touch yannow? The main trouble I have is finding a place that can deliver runny yolks at all... around here they are usually either overcooked, or cookedperfect then left sitting on…
  • I'm having watermelon for my evening snack... low cal, njce and sweet, and the high water content leaves me feeling full (and hydrated, since it was 30degC here today). Sometimes I top it with a spoonful of greek yoghurt.
  • My 7yr old is also severely underweight... he is hovering on the 1st percentile at 19.3kg/43lbs. Has a good appetite for "yummy" food but refuses to eat more than 2 tablespoons of "real" food at dinner time. I find it really hard to get nutritious food into him. He lives on muesli, oatmeal, yoghurt, milk, nuts and fruit.…
  • I picked a spot in the middle of my BMI ideal range.
  • Sorry that wasn't meant to look like shaming... apologies to the OP if I came across too blunt. I was trying to make the point that the internet is not the safest place to get medical advice, especially given the OP's concerns with previous miscarriage and the amount of conflicting (and potentially unsafe) advice already…
  • My advice is to stop taking advice from random internet people who do not know your medical history, and instead talk to a dietician/nutritionist who can advise you best practice for YOUR pregnancy.
  • Sounds like a great start!
  • Honestly? I would wait until things are a little more "normal". With so much going on and a lot of stress associated with that, adding calorie counting or a diet plan to the mix will add additional demands on your time and energy. I would just have 2 goals for each day: 1. To swap one food item out with a better choice…
  • Ditched school to hang with a bunch of losers, smoking, drinking and taking other stuff. Ended up getting expelled at 15 and lived on the street for a few months before I dragged myself up by the bootlaces, got a job and cleaned myself up. (It helped that I moved to a different city where no one knew me). I'm now an…
  • It takes about an hour for water to reach your bladder and if you sip your water over time rather than gulp down a whole glass, your bladder fills up gradually rather than suddenly having a whole lot in it. I use to commute over an hour and would drink 500mls - 1 litre in that time just sipping as I drove. I also kept a…
  • I have a fitbit flex and find the sync takes a while to catch up. Often the counts are totally different so I will open the fitbit app and force it to sync, then close both apps, and when I reopen MFP it will sync after a minute or two, to the correct step count.
  • Only 0.8kg LOL Hard to get an accurate weight though as I started iron supplements at the same time which makes my food take twice as long to pass through. Plus my scales were faulty and I hadn't realised until I was weighing flour for a bread dough recipe and it said the entire 1kg pack only weighed 500g... got new ones…
  • Almost 2 weeks on MFP for me. Started out 59kg... I'm not overweight but need to increase my iron and reduce my cholesterol so this seemed a good way to be more mindful of what I eat. Ifeally I'd like to feel more comfy in my current clothes as they are a little tight in the waist and arms. I felt good at 55kg so I guess…
  • Yum! Bacon and banana pancakes?
  • My dinner last night was a HUGE bowl of asian-inspired salad, included shredded chicken, cashew nuts, crispy noodles and a dressing, and it totalled 461 calories. The dressing was a mix of brown sugar, sesame oil, olive oil and soy sauce and a tablespoon of the dressing was roughly 50cals. Not sure how to add pics but it…
  • Yep... three. My gran, my step-ma, and a decomposing body that washed up on a riverbank behind our house.
  • My hunny is 6'7" and after dinner will happily eat everybodies leftovers, the "saving for the freezer" leftovers from the pot, followed by a huge bowl of weetbix, a bowl of crisps, cheese and crackers etc. Given his height and weight he needs shiteloads more calories than I do but I get a bit peeved when he keeps offering…
  • Talk to your boss. This is clearly sexual harassment and it is your bosses duty to provide you a safe working environment. You can ask it be made anonymous, e.g. the boss can say "we have had complaints about your behaviour" without having to tell him it was you who complained. If you can, it would be even better to be…
  • I only just started a couple of weeks ago and MFP has me on 1200 cals with a goal of 0.5kg/wk (1 lb?). I have oatmeal for breakfast, either a boiled egg or a tin of sardines for lunch and some fruit with yoghurt. Dinner is usually around 400cals (meat and salads/veges). I can't eat much bread, pasta, rice or potatoes so I…
  • I hate mornings and usually wake up in pain and take a while to get moving. I have a 6yr and 7yr old to get to school but hubby does the lions share which is a life saver for me, as Miss 6 wakes up at the crack of dawn and needs supervision from 5ish. 7:30 Hubby wakes me up 7:40 Stumble bleary eyed to the litchen to make…
