  • The soulution may not be for the original poster to change her behavior to accommodate her partner's suspicions. My husband was raised to believe that a woman who loses weight and dresses better is cheating--no other options. The solution is not maintaining a high weight or cutting off all contact with everyone else. This…
  • @robynsg2014 sorry you got jumped on for an innocent question. The MFP folks are generally great, but the claws sure come out if we sniff any hint if acceptance for surgical or pharmeceutically-assisted weight loss. That is not what you were suggesting, and you didn't deserve what felt like a group pile on, even if…
  • @JeromeBarry1 "Womanly fluctuations" is totally understandable, but also unintentionally hilarious to me. I am totally stealing this as my explanation for everything I do. ☺️
  • This may be stupid, but wouldn't that be a pear shape? Waist bigger than chest? I thought ruler shape would require you to have equal measurements at the hips, waist, and bust---straight up and down like a ruler.
  • Your coworker is concerned that you are deathly ill just because you didn't eat a doughnut from a box someone brought in. You feel badly that it is a foregone conclusion that you'll eat them, so you have 2 to cheer you up.
  • One more: I just did W4, D3, then sat on the couch (C25K is not just a clever name) to suck down some water and enjoy the air-conditioning. I was still sweaty but figured it had to be minimal, and that my seat on the edge of the couch meant I wasn't ruining it. I'm, yeah, then I looked down to the big puddle of sweat on…
  • W4, D3. Still lumbering, but still doing it. The last one I did at night, and boy, was that a game changer. It was 69 degrees For, not 90-95, no blazing sun, no traffic, no noise. Me, my breathing, and my footsteps. It was Nike-commercial motivating. Best one yet. If you are somewhere hottish and have that option, you may…
  • Congrats, you just lost 150 pounds of jerk. Honestly, better you know now that he is a shallow, terrible person. What if you realized at age 45 or 60, and were starting over then instead of when you are young? Get healthy for you, not him or revenge. Then, go scoop up so early guy who also got rid of a jerk. Live happily…
  • I love it. Even the "jumps" in time that seem daunting are doable. I had trouble with 30 seconds of running, but I am doing fine now that I get that it isn't a sprint. And I was NEVER athletic, so it isn't like I have hidden muscle or endurance.
  • Just took three giant bags of clothes to Goodwill. These are the contractor size, not kitchen size. They are way too big, and I am not keeping them "in case." There will be no "in case," no safety net.
  • @wellnesschaser I totally forgot eggs! When he was really little, I would scramble eggs with cottage cheese. The texture is great, and it increases the protein and calcium. More importantly, it is ready in 2 minutes! @Numericmama373 just tried to message you, but MFP ate it. (Probably didn't log it either.) I can't wait to…
  • I almost skipped this because I don't call myself a mommy. Women I meet who describe themselves as mommies instead of mom's or parents tend to build their lives around trying to acheive perfect motherhood instead of, ya' know, a well-rounded life. That makes it easy to see healthy eating and exercise as "to e not being a…
  • You literally look like you old self's teenage daughter. I don't know ow how do you are, but you look like you went from 40 to 17. Nice work! I am down 47, with another 50 to go to get to your weight. I am so excited to see what an amazing transformation this can be. You worked your butt off (literally) and you are…
  • Leslie Sansone, who does all the Walk Away the Pounds stuff, has yoga DVDs. Libraries tend to have these 'cause her DVDs work for everybody who isn't hardcore yet. She does slow basics and suggests modifications if you aren't quite with her. Her Walk Away the Pounds 1, 2, and 3 mile DVDs are really worth owning if you're…
  • @girlinahat @tinkerbellang83 I think the run speed was the issue then, 'cause I normally do a brisk 4-mile walk with random 30 second sprints. I probably tried that pace for C25K, but 30 seconds of sprinting doesn't mean one minute is doable repeatedly the next day. You have both been very helpful, because I wouldn't have…
  • I started but then realized I need Bed to 5K. Seriously, I only got through the first three run minutes before my body was all, "Nope." I am going to lose some more weight, keep walking with some 30-second running, then try again. I felt terrible about failing till I saw that the people my weight who were doing it mostly…
  • @estherdragonbat what's your fandom, dare I ask?
  • I am 37, an editor, and a mom. I try to stick to 40 hours of work per week, but I have a 3-hour commute, so I don't get TV time either. Forty pounds into (god willing) a 100-pound loss. My preschooler payted my tummy and said, "What made these rolls?" I told him, "You." Then, I felt like monster and said, "Cookies,"…
  • This happens to me, too, when I lose weight. I am down about 40 pounds, and I literally wore gloves when I took my kid to the park Thursday. I am only warm enough when exercising and, even then, my fingers are the last thing to get warm. When I don't list weight, I am always too warm. No winning.
  • I love both your username and your TL;DR. You've got a good attitude and the right tools. You've got this!
  • I second "Walk at Home." Lots if levels and durations, and no scary or hard-to-learn stuff.
  • If your disgust with yourself is good motivation, use it. But if it starts to make you want to quit, realize that you did not "let yourself go." You carried two babies and are raising them. The lack of sleep with an infant mimics depression, which leads to overeating and no energy for exercise. You cared for them so much,…

  • You are not alone! My husband had Type 1 diabetes, so he indulges in empty carbs and uses insulin to compensate. When I was single, I lost 50 pounds easily because I just didn't have fatty, sugary foods in my house. But now.... I tried not buying his sweets. He would go get them. Now, I volunteer to add them to my shopping…
