Hey everyone, I'm currently on Week 1 of the C25K program. If you don't know what it is, it's an app you can download that basically trains you to run 5Km in 2 months I think lol.

Anyways, is anyone else doing it rn?

I just did Week 2 Day 1 today. So far so good! I have never been a runner, so the idea of working towards being able to run 5K is pretty exciting right now.

I finished it on Wednesday. Although I wasn't able to do a 5K in the time provided by the app, I did an actual 5K in week 8 and I was able to run the entire race. I'm going to start a 5K to 10K program next week. It's a great program.

I just finished week 3! I feel I am doing MUCH better than I thought I would be at this point! I will be repeating week 3 though, started it with a friend and she missed this week due to unforeseen circumstances. Either way we are KILLING it!!

Wk6D1 for me! I had hip surgery end October so am building up slowly.. I was previously regularly running 5-7 miles but I don't expect to get back to those distances until the end of this year ☺️

I'm 57 years old, and today I'll be doing Day 1 of Week 2. I'm pretty proud that I've started. The app is great. So are my new running shoes, which are a huge improvement over my one-year-old shoes. I'm motivated to finish this program!

W6D1 this morning, plus about 10 minutes of extra walking added at the end.

Plenty of time today, and I hate making my turnaround in the middle of a run leg, so didn't turn around until after the 8 minute run. Except I hit the end immediately after meeting the only other pedestrians I'd seen this morning, walking in the other direction. Didn't want to turn around and be right behind them, so walked another minute first. They were also doing a walk / run combination, so were actually quite far in front of me at that point.

Vacation next week, so I will run again on the 19th or 20th, depending on how late we get home on the 18th.

I love C25k. I did it a few years ago and ended up going on to train for the Disney half marathon. Good luck with the program. Have fun!

Love C25K! I completed it a while ago and have been running 5K on my treadmill a couple of times a week ever since. I just ran my first 5K outdoors yesterday (on trails near my house). Before I started on C25K, I never in a million years would have thought I could do that. It really has changed my life.

W3D1 today! It went really well, but I still haven't figured out how to avoid getting a stitch in my right side every time I run! It doesn't seem to matter how slow I go, how I breath, that my stomach is empty besides a bit of water, if my left foot hits the ground as I exhale, it happens every time. Any suggestions? I'm in good shape and done losing weight, my legs and body want to run but I always get that annoying pain in my side!

W4, D3. Still lumbering, but still doing it.

The last one I did at night, and boy, was that a game changer. It was 69 degrees For, not 90-95, no blazing sun, no traffic, no noise. Me, my breathing, and my footsteps.

It was Nike-commercial motivating. Best one yet. If you are somewhere hottish and have that option, you may find out it is daytime, not you, that is slowing you down.

I may need some mace and a headlamp.

I'm in California and run when I get off work. There is a significant difference in my performance depending on whether it is hot or cool. I ran once in the early morning, and it was so nice. It's starting to get really hot now, so I'm probably going to have to push my runs until later in the evening. But, yeah, temperature matters.

Add some core work to your exercise routine. Strong abs/back will help. Also, try breathing deeply when you run. Shallow quick breaths can cause issues.

    Good luck.

Will do W2D1 tomorrow morning. Totally worth getting up that early in the morning. I splurged on good running shoes this weekend too. They're pretty :).

I didn't think I'd be able to but I finished W2D1. It was 90 seconds of jogging and I can't believe I was able to do it.

Im kind of skeptical tho.... can i actually be able to run 5km at the end of the program? Time will only tell I guess.

Side note, In addition to C25K, I also do 6 workouts a week and am trying to eat healthier and less. I'm really excited on one hand, but I've failed so many times that's I'm just naturally skeptical and pessimistic of everything.

Anyways, I actually like this program. Half an hour isn't bad and I love the feeling of accomplishment. My legs however are always sore after, and my right side feels like it squeezes tighlty at times during the run. Hopefully it's nothing and gets better.

why are you running on consecutive days....?

you should have a rest day in between running days while you're doing C25K
