  • These are such great ideas. I love the community here and appreciate all the stories you've shared. I switched out a couple of cardio days with cize, a dance workout. It's much more fun. Definitely look forward to it more. I think I also just might try an audiobook with longer walks to keep active on non lift days.…
  • Thank you for all these ideas. I think I'm going to be much more gentle on myself and just focus on logging something on a cardio day rather than spending all day dreading it.
  • This is really inspiring! Thank you for this! I've always wanted to try Zumba. Plus I think that maybe part of the problem is ive been going for 60 minutes and I need to start smaller. 20-30 min would be much more sustainable for me.
  • I've seen weights mentioned a couple of times now. In case you're unfamiliar, P90X has three very weight-focused days on the major muscle groups. So I'm already doing some decent lifting, albeit with barbells and pull-ups instead of a bar. I'm only referring to how to sustain cardio on the three "non-weight" days, which I…
  • Thank you for this message! It's definitely the tedium. I think I lack the mental strength/tenacity for running. I used to be a very regular hiker/backpacker but I moved to a city where that's much harder to access. Now cardio feels like a chore and I have trouble zoning out or even getting myself excited in some way.…
  • I'd like to join! How does it work?
  • First of all, good for you because Barre classes kick my butt. I would think you'd want to find a calories-burned estimate from an online calculator and enter the duration as an exercise you create on mfp. You'd enter it as a cardio exercise to do this. This is what I do with HIIT workouts and P90x workouts.
  • I am not a strict vegetarian/vegan, though I've had a vegan diet for several months at a time. There are two supplements I highly recommend: iron and a calcium, magnesium, zinc combo. Sometimes vitamin D is also important for your calcium absorption. I take those 3 daily. Iron is difficult to get from vegan/veggie diet. I…
  • I didn't know you could log your workouts there, aside from tracking exercise. But I like the sound of this! I just have to figure out how to do it lol.
  • Just to clarify, my overall calorie allotment did decrease to 1200, but my overall calories remaining increased when switching to sedentary because, as @kaylajane11 said, I get added calories around ~2500. This works for me since I start the day with a lengthy HIIT session, but have an otherwise sedentary day. I'll try to…
  • That's true in mfp alone. But my understanding from the suggestion (and the result I got) is it changes how Fitbit makes adjustments to your mfp diary.
  • Changing my mfp setting to sedentary just boosted my remaining calories from ~450 to 917 which is more than enough to survive the rest of my at-the-desk day! I'm not going to eat all of those, but that's definitely the difference between making it to dinner with a snack and passing out. It seems like dropping my weight…
  • I had no idea about the time of day thing with manual entries vs the Fitbit data. This is very helpful! Thank you.
