Lovely post. @flumi_f I hope you get a nice power nap or something. Today is a fast day for me. I approach my fast days with the intention of eating max 500 but allowing room to get to 700 cal if need be. Really hopeful that this will work! Proof is in the pudding I suppose. Also I am aiming for 4:3, but will be…

Awesome all around! Today is a non-fast day for me. (Unless I surprise myself...but I think I'll have dinner tonight so there's that.) I'm keeping it controlled; moderate calories and a good amount of water are how I'm proceeding. Speaking of water, I have been experimenting with this infra-red sauna spa by my house. They…

Annnnnd I ended up having a "normal day." Pretty light though! I ate under 1100 calories today. :)
-
Awesome! @Meghan509 and @flumi_f thanks for the warm welcome. I'll keep you posted on how many light days I actually get through. Glad to hear about the fun in the sun! Light day (aka FD) going good so far over here in California. It's 1:20 and I've only had an apple and some coffee with almond breeze (30 cal).

Oh and, I hope you're all having a lovely week! Sweet dreams. :)

Hi folks! May I please chime in? I'm joining the 5:2/4:3 fasting approach with cautious optimism. Tomorrow will be a fast day for me. This week I have consumed pretty moderately. I want to squeeze in 2 fast days, though, and see if I can make 5:2 a regular thing. When I'm feeling really super, I'd even like to do 4:3 --…

You guys are great. Thanks for all this feedback. :)
-
Awesome feedback! I feel great about fitting Halo top into my daily intake now.

I like this new guideline. This definitely makes it more doable for me. I'm entering an April challenge for 5:2 and will likely aim for 500 on my FDs but knowing I can have up to 700 gives me hope! Also, it means that I'll be less likely to go overboard on my NFDs, as I really want to shed the weight. Somehow, I think this…

Very cool. Good luck to you on this fresh start! Sounds like you know exactly what to do. I hope you find it effortless!
-
@cazbit I relate! I've done it too! Doing it all over for the - honestly can't say if it's 5th or 6th time now. It's a strange thing, right? We work hard and somehow get into the groove, lose all the weight, feel awesome, and then somehow we gain it back. I've done this so many times! It's not fun at all and can be…

Someone might have said this, but there are phases when Weight just kinda doesn't move much. It can pass. Not sure if that's what's happening here in your case, but maybe it could be a temporary thing. I've read a few folks on here say they were stuck at a plateau for a month or two, and then started dropping weight again.…

@Ck103084 I'm sorry to hear it's hard. They say cleaning out the kitchen makes a big difference and I realize that's near impossible to do when you share it with other people. I wish the weight would just magically melt away! I ain't ashamed to say that either! Lol. I know the struggle! The struggle is real! Lol. But it…

Wow! MFP community, you guys are great! Thanks everyone!
-
@jen_092 I appreciate your sincerity! Yeah it's tough when you live together. My boyfriend has seen me fit, overweight, and all the in between as well! But he loves me and isn't turned off by the ups and downs. I wish you the best of luck when you move in together!

@WinoGelato I often wonder if I have somehow weakened my metabolism over the years of yo-yo weight fluctuations and dieting. This too makes me think I might have to take in 1200 or so. But hey, I'll be super pleased to discover I'm wrong and I can eat more!
-
@WinoGelato those professionals were nutritionists, personal trainers, and nurse practitioners. This is advice I had received again and again over the years...at first I was upset by the advice, but lately I think maybe it's applicable. I am trying to get my step tracker back online (it's battery is drained so I am…
-
@SusanMFindlay wow. I never thought of it that way! Maybe there's hope for me after all. I appreciate this information. I have an old step tracker I might start using again... Cheers! :)
-
@genpopadopolous keeping your snacks separate is smart! :) I used to do that when I lived with more people. Now, however, with my boyfriend, there's no need.
-
And again, thanks to you guys for the feedback and support. Guess what?! My boyfriend offered to cook me a vegetarian favorite that's diet-friendly that I could have on hand through the week. He's cooking his own separate meal too, but he made an effort to have something tasty on hand for me. We got the recipe from Skinny…

@SusanMFindlay that's valuable insight. I do get in some movement, walk on lunch breaks, occasion the gym, and try to do little things here and there. Once upon a time I would work out like a beast! When I was 7 years younger, I was able to drop off body fat by spending a lot of time at the gym doing cardio and weights…
-
Awww thanks guys. Your support means a lot to me! It's helping me feel more grounded.
-
@CoachJen71 exactly! Thank you.
-
Yup. Thanks for all that. Cheers!
-
Anyways, thanks everyone for your insight. I honestly just needed to vent. I know what I gotta do, but last night was one of those tough ones. I read here that you can reach out to the community when feeling stressed or struggling so that's what I did. It's not every day, but some days are harder than others! Thanks to…

Ha! Nope. No salad in that corner... just quiet contemplation and water. Sometimes tea.

@WinoGelato I think I missed a few questions.. Goal Weight Range: 135-145lbs Yes I use a food scale. I log as accurately as I can but I know there are bound to be errors! That's why I try to goal myself lower than my actual recommendation. (i.e., if I wanna only eat 1500, I aim for 1300 for the day etc). I've lose and…
-
@WinoGelato yes I hear ya. I am aware that my problem has been sticking to a diet. I try to do it for a while and then fall off track. So I lose rather slowly. Fitting his foods into my day, through, would be tough. He consumes meals and foods that are pretty heavy in fat and carbs, which works fine for him! But a bite of…
-
Wow this was a wonderful thread of support to wake up to! Thanks everyone. I'm just gonna stick to my diet and deal with it. He certainly means well. I guess in the long run, I'd feel bad if he stopped enjoying foods and all the stuff he craves for me. I did try to eat what I wanted and have foods like his -- this resulted…

I value all the feedback. At least we're not alone! And yes, having a super high metabolism is a challenge that I will never truly know. (Of course, it sounds like a good problem to have from where I'm standing!) As for cooking meals for us-- that usually goes south. He can really cook tasty rich foods. I don't have the…
