Thanks all. Best of luck jesslla/amv91. I’m just not particularly keen on medical interference of any kind unless it’s necessary. I have had my gene test done and have my profile in that regard. My results were concrete in that I am suited to medium - long distance type excercise rather than high intensity burst excercise.…

Thanks for the responses. I think I may need to recalculate my MFP weight loss goals. I have gym membership/trainer I just find there are so many more important tasks that need my attention that are fun ;).

Dear Campfirequeen, I love listening to all the reminiscent food and history monologue. I realise as I'm getting older my taste is changing and I feel the urge to try foods from my past that I detested. Apparently the food our ancestor ate had an impact on our health. I was recently involved in a gene and food project…

Easier for me to offer advice seeing as I'm not v good at taking it!

How do you feel? Are you healthy? Are you happy? How do your clothes feel on you? You know how far you have come and what you've had to do to get there. Look back at the weight and look at your body now, would you have been happy with what you have now when you were bigger? And you cannot necessarily go by sizing. Clothes…

I would like to break the habit. I realise it's no good for me. I'm definitely an emotional eater.

I remember liking chewing gum. There was this really cool American brand and it was sort of spicy. And we used to dare each other to eat it! Can't remember what it was called.

Haven't had chewing gum in yonks! It's worth a try. Pellegrino with a twist of lemon !Hmmmmm ☺️it got to be better than my current addiction to Sicilian Lemonade.

I feel women are more emotional eaters...? Men are lucky they have lots of the hormone 'Testosterone', not only do the lose 2lb approx for every 1lb a woman loses! But 'Testosterone' is linked to less empathic emotions. A recent study conducted by Dr P Bos at the University of Utrecht claims.

Its good to hear you are doing what you need too do for you. Don't ever let anyone put you down (it often shows their insecurity). We're all here doing the best we can and if they can't be nice to you you don't need them. Wish you the best of luck.

Other-halves are brilliant they say it how it is! I know it's boredom eating. Like I said I bribe my ego and use food as a reward! I know that's bad. But convince myself if I get the work done I'll have something that I know I shouldn't.

The worse thing is I discovered a new cheese cake in Waitrose and Ive convinced myself That i buy it for others, except its not really. Having food lying around that's yummy is difficult. "Doesn't lie around for long"!

I have to work to meet tight deadline that involve a lot of research. So normally work late/early into the night. But your right I should go to bed, it's just v hard to get everything done in the few hours at work. I am particularly worried as I have a v dense project coming my way that is likely to last till autumn. So…

Thanks, certainly worth a try. Looks like I'll be visiting the shops. Let's hope I don't come across any cakes along the way ....or any other ...eatables! This willpower thing is a killer....

Thanks. May look into getting scales up until now havent even been looking at the calories in a bid to get through work. Your right: "It probably shouldn't be so much as getting on the wagon rather putting on a pair of shoes and going for a walk!".
