  • I totally understand this feeling! Congratulations! Can't wait to get there myself as I've been bouncing around 199/200 for over a week now and am so eager to get down there where you are. How long did it take you between 200 and 189?
  • @mmultanen Ugh, sorry you suffered that, I feel for you. Glad you were able to ditch it.
  • I've been at around 1,500 cals, 20 net carbs since March 8. Last week I added Level One 30 Day Shred 3x a week. My weight has been very even since I started exercising (2 weeks) & I'm concerned I'm exercising my calories too low & slowed my metabolism accidentally. Is there a threshold where that happens? Or is it, like…
  • @Dragonwolf Aha. I didn't do a ton of research before I tried it but I knew it was causing me trouble by day 2. Oh well!
  • I'm premenopausal but tried fenugreek to see if it would help me around my TOM and it made me so depressed and anxious for three days I had to stop. After I stopped taking it I went right back to normal so I guess it isn't for me, at least not right now :(
  • @KickboxDiva butting in to say I've been taking the collagen hydrolysate for years, 2 tbs a day. It's the only thing that helped a painful knee problem when nothing else would. That knee hurt for two years and the pain stopped completely 2 weeks after starting collagen & never returned. I do have a genetic collagen…
  • I think you look great in both pics tbh! FWIW I didn't look my age until my early 40s and it had nothing to do with weight. I think I just got away with looking young a long time lol but eventually some years are gonna catch up  But I don't mind looking whatever age because I'm just glad to be on this side of the dirt!
  • In 2003 I went on Atkins after my older brother was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, that scared me & I worked hard & lost 60lbs. Over the years I've stayed relatively low carb/Paleo but the weight started creeping back on. Then earlier this year my older sister was diagnosed with diabetes as well and that scared the heck…
  • Today is exercise an day. This will be my third 30 Day Shred Level 1 session in May. It's so hard to get started each time but just putting on my workout outfit seems to be key so here I go  Good luck to everyone trying for their goals today! Oh! Also, I mark it on a wall calendar every time I exercise, seeing the…
  • @cstehansen Haha! I've always said that about acne & gray hair at the same time being totally unfair lol  I've been eating whole foods & strictly grain free for 13 years with my only carb creep coming from fruits, veg, and small amounts of maple syrup/honey, sometimes legumes. So it was a huge surprise to me to have…

  • I'm 47 & I've had acne since I was a teen. I know it's hormonal but nothing I did ever helped. Add in that I suffer from the addictive condition Dermatillomania (compulsive skin picking) and it's been a lifelong struggle. I've been low carb to varying degrees since 2003 but I went full Keto March 8 & today, May 8, my skin…

  • I was going to say chiropractor, massage therapist, or physical therapist, too.
  • Well my 1st Shred in a while on Thursday did cause a 3 day cramp in my calf (which I massaged with magnesium oil) but I did the exercises again today (carefully) so I wouldn't wait so long that I'd be back at square one. It went fine today, plan to do it again Tuesday. 3 days a week or every other day is my goal, whichever…
  • Went down a notch on my belt

  • Today is a rest day as I got very sore from my first day back doing level one of 30 day Shred. But I did take "before" pictures & measurements because when I get frustrated with this process, as I assume I will, I will need proof I have made strides. Everyone's progress pictures have been so inspiring & motivating!

  • Before garlic turned on me, I found this product very effective: https://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/yeast-fend-100-capsules/vs-1594 It has garlic in it so I can't use it anymore. My dad used it very successfully to get rid of a case of thrush he got from some powerful antibiotics.
  • From April 2015 through most of 2016 I did the Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred Level 1 over 130 times (the higher levels are too hard on me). I got much more fit & grew some muscles but I didn't budge the scale. Now I know muscle weighs more than fat but I doubt I was 204 lbs of pure muscle lololol so yeah. I needed to lower…
  • Yes! And way back in the 90s I remember being that clueless person asking an Atkins guy "You mean you can eat bacon but not pretzels??" And thinking that was nuts, lol. Boy did I have a lot to learn
  • I had to move the car seat further forward because my butt is smaller & I couldn't reach the pedals as comfortably anymore

  • Looks like you got your answers but I'll chime in to say back when I was 180 lbs a few years ago (I'm 5'8") I got cold all the time! And it hurt to sit on a hard chair for very long, and it was hard to nest my knees for sleeping. But I'll take all that over worrying about my health I guess, lol
  • @macchiatto Thanks! And good luck on your race
  • @PaulaJSchiller sounds like a good goal, I think I'll aim for 160 though that sounds like a fantasy lol. Hang in there & keep at it! Don't fret about the pounds, I bet you are shrinking anyway because of exercise.
  • @my4andme333 It's just incredible what you've accomplished, I know you worked so hard for it.
  • @Steph_Maks Thanks for sharing your experience! I appreciate it.
  • 47 yo woman 5' 8" SW 210 March 8, 2017 CW 198.6 May 2, 2017 GW ??? lol I have no idea how much I'm supposed to weigh. I've always been overweight! I was probably 260 at my heaviest in 2003 before I started Atkins & lost 60 lbs. I lost another 20 a few years ago & got down to 180 but then it crept back up and here I am. I'm…
  • @auntstephie321 Thank you, so sweet! Love the white fingers
  • We lost Chet a little over a year ago and I'll never get over it but I love looking at pictures of him, and other people's pets too!
  • Ok due to you all inspiring me, I did 30 minutes on my Nordic Track, it's been quite a while but I felt fine. Waiting to see if I stiffen up tonight but in the meantime I'm off to drink electrolytes & feel accomplished lol  cc: @my4andme333
