  • I'm 5'8" and I experienced this too! I must have been stuffing myself into my 14s because I lost 40 pounds and I'm still only in 12s lol. Oh well! My mom is 5"3" and she always said "Every ten pounds is a size" Uh, nope!
  • @KnitOrMiss Thank you! Yes, I am keto for life so I'm still hopeful that the hormones are working their things out lol. Or maybe I'll hit menopause first, whichever! I know my hormones are still screwy because I get acne sometimes and other skin issues, plus random breast tenderness in the wrong part of my cycle. I've been…
  • I have been strict Keto since March. I notice maybe slightly fewer migraines? I expect to get them once a month tied to my cycle and since I went Keto there have been maybe 2 or 3 months where I didn't get one. I had really hoped they would be totally gone. Oh well!
  • I've lost 37 pounds and the comforter covers me better on the bed lol. It's so funny what you notice. Since my bum and legs are slimmer, all my pants have become too long.
  • Love these NSVs everyone! I realized that I probably wouldn't have fit into the driver's seat in our new car at the weight I was before I started Keto in March. As it was, my thigh draped off the left side when we got the car in May and the seat buckle dug into me on the right. Yesterday I noticed my bum is now even with…
  • I love your story and I'm so glad you are sharing it with us!
  • @debodom1962 Right on!
  • I like the Well Fed books but they are Paleo and might need to be adjusted, some of the recipes are overly fussy but I like the mix and match approach she has
  • @RalfLott I got a lot of totally unsweet margaritas, with salted rims, of course, lol. I had a whiskey sour with no syrup. I had something with bourbon and lemon that wasn't a whiskey sour, he made it up on the spot. They would warn: it's going to be really tart! And I'm like nahhhh haha! I don't use sweeteners so tart is…
  • I was excited to be a cheap date lol but I seem to have the opposite reaction as some Keto folks do, of alcohol not having much effect at all anymore. Oh well! I drink tequila or burbon & stop at one to keep calories down. Even though the buzz is minimal, it's still nice to have a special occasion cocktail while my husband…
  • Following to see if you get any relief & what works.
  • Congratulations on your fantastic achievement! Thanks so much for writing up your experience, it's accounts like yours that are so helpful in figuring out how I want to approach eating & fasting. Your experience is a valuable resource. I look forward to following your next fast!
  • Hi! Sounds like you are doing great! You may need to tweak something to be more comfortable but overall you sound successful at this way of eating. I didn't take a look at your diary yet, just wanted to get my first thoughts down. I don't have a lot of hunger either. I'm 5'8", 47 yo, CW 187. I figure my body is getting…
  • @mandycat223 In the LCHF fasting community there are plenty of folks who derive great benefits from water only fasts of various durations.
  • I aim for 20 net, you are welcome to add me. Keep in mind I was on vacation last week tho lol
  • Are you hungry? If you are still hungry after eating what you can then I'd say try to add fats into your meals if you can stand it; cooking oils, salad dressing oils, butter, fattier cuts of meat. Try fatty dairy if you can tolerate it. Or make fat bombs with like, cacao butter & cocoa powder, very mild tasting & smooth…
  • @Steph_Maks I feel like I've only just started scratching the surface! But Jason Fung & Megan Ramos are my gurus. You probably already know but just to post a reference Jason's blog is: https://intensivedietarymanagement.com I haven't read his book specifically about fasting yet, The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your…
  • Filet mignon with Roquefort mousse, had them hold the mashed potatoes
  • I do IF variously 16:8, 18:6, 20:4. I mix it up to keep my body guessing. I disagree what was stated above that it's only good for calorie restriction as I believe the science shows it helps heal insulin resistance by reducing the number of hours your body has to be processing foods. I plan to do longer fasts in the future…
  • @RalfLott I'm self diagnosed but from what I've read it's similar but not as intense as EDS, fewer complications. I had become almost incapacitated last summer with stiffness & soreness. Since researching I started a protocol with gelatin, MSM, hyaluronic acid, fat soluble vit C, and other minerals & vitamins. I completely…
  • My collagen experience is I have a collagen production disorder (joint hypermobility syndrome) and adding 2 tbs of collagen daily to my diet healed a knee in 2 weeks that had been painful for over a year. I had done chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage on that knee with no results. 2 weeks of collagen (Great lakes…
  • I'm Keto & my diary is open to friends, I'm on vacation this week though so my logging has a few more indulgent items right now
  • @RalfLott I definitely try to think about all the healing and swapping of white fat to brown and the taking up of excess skin, hopefully, that could be happening! At the same time I'm always concerned I'm doing something slightly wrong & that if I knew about it I could tweak it & get better, more consistent results. It's…
  • I'm terrified of a stall even though I understand healing/reconfiguring might be happening inside. I'm Keto for life regardless. But I really, really want to reach goal weight, still at least 30 lbs away. I've stalled in the past, and started regaining, on other weight loss journeys, & I'm still a bit traumatized from…
  • @mesaint This is how it goes for me too, makes me so impatient!! I try things like eliminating dairy, mixing up my intermittent fasting schedule so I don't get into a routine, then I wait. And wait. And the scale goes down then right back up! Omg it's maddening. I don't have any advice except to hang in there & switch…
  • I can't say if anyone who sees me in this knows what it means but I sure enjoy wearing it!
  • You buy this ridiculously expensive salt because mmmm, snackin size!
  • I'm sensitive to vinegars so I make my own dressing with olive oil, lemon juice, and Italian spices. Sometimes I add Dijon mustard.
  • Alcohol for sure stalls me out. I read that while you metabolize it you can't burn fat too. I hope you find out the reason! Stalls drive me nuts. But also, I lose super slowly with lots of scale bounces up and down so I always have to wait at least two weeks before I figure out if my body is just rearranging the furniture…
  • @binkviv thank you!
