  • Name: Kim How long in maintenance: 1 year, 2 months Goal maintenance range: 127-131 Current weight: 130.2 Recent success: Heck, yes! I lost that stinky pound and now I’m fitting very comfortably in the bridesmaid-dress-in-question! I feel pretty good at this weight, aside from loose skin bumming me out. The TREND LINE in…
  • Good point here. You may still be healing, depending on you! I know I didn't feel myself for many months after my second. She was also waking up in the night for almost 2 years! I found it easier to control my eating and skip the exercise due to exhaustion. I think I started to diet 6 months post partum. Be kind to…
  • How do you feel about freezing your bread and thawing it out one slice at a time? That might help you moderate.
  • I don't have an endocrinologist. Unfortunately, I have an issue with my insurance right now and I don't think I'm going to be able to go to one any time soon.
  • Good luck! Congratulations on making a decision to change! I have a long history of eating to feel better when depressed. I just try to remember that the food may taste good while I'm eating it, but as soon as it's gone the bad feelings will come back. It's a hard habit to break. I've been on this journey for over 2 years…
  • Thanks for responding. He says since I'm done having kids my TSH doesn't need to be as low. This doesn't seem like a good enough reason to me. But I'm going to take meticulous notes about how I feel to show him.
  • I’m hypo and I have been on 25 mcg synthroid since 2013 and now my doctor (family physician) wants me to go off of it for 3 months and get my levels tested. I’m really worried about this but he’s not refilling my prescription. Am I gonna gain a bunch of weight? Should I decrease my intake? Has anyone been on synthroid and…
  • Here's some meals I had this month that I just pulled out of my diary: (daily intake ~1650 calories) Chick-fil-a: small fry + cobb salad with no cheese + 8 grilled nuggets + half package fat free honey mustard = 745 calories (estimated the salad) Chipotle: white rice + barbacoa + guac + green salsa + lettuce = 630 calories…
  • When I was starting out, I set a time limit for when I was allowed to eat. I had to stop at 8 pm. That helped a lot initially, and it wasn't forever. I no longer get the late night munchies, unless I'm PMSing.
  • Why not eat maintenance until you're better?
  • Hi everybody! Been wanting to join a maintenance group for a while now. I’m so glad I found this. Name: Kim How long in maintenance: 1+ year Goal maintenance range: 127-131 Current weight: 131 Current goals:* Lose weight: The bridesmaid dress I ordered for my sister’s wedding came in pretty tight. I was sitting around 133…
  • NO LIE, I covet things from the girls' department at Target all the time. Maybe I will sneak an XL in my cart between some misses things and try it on next time I'm there. B)
  • I’ve maintained "the new me" for one year! Hit my goal weight the day after Easter last year. I logged my intake every day for two years. Today is day 737! Finally, Easter was 8 days ago & there are still 3 big bags of candy on top of my fridge. I eat a few pieces of it every day and have NOT had anything resembling a…
  • I eat low gluten and low dairy due to IBS and lactose intolerance. An easy way to find meals online I’ve found is to search for paleo recipes and then add a side of rice or potatoes (I do not eat low carb). I eat eggs or oatmeal for breakfast, and drink cashew milk occasionally in my hot chocolate or cereal. Dinner is…
  • Back in my size 4s after eating too much Halloween and Christmas candy for about 3 months straight. Also have been bemoaning my shrinking cup size but have embraced the bright side - I was able to buy a wire free bra size medium and actually wear it confidently out in public!
  • I’m 5’5” medium frame and usually maintain between 129-132 (trying to loose a few extra lbs from the holidays but that’s another story). I once got down to 127 but I felt unusually hungry and felt I was looking a little skeletal in the chest area. So you’re not alone in thinking 125 is low. That used to be my goa but I…
  • I made a bacon and potato quiche this week for dinner. It’s something that I would never have the time or patience to make in the morning so it was fun to do in the evening. It was very filling and hearty!
  • A hot chocolate or hot tea after dinner helps me. I also turn off the lights in the kitchen and close the baby gate. :D Brush teeth, and if all that fails I go to bed early.
  • Unfortunately, chronic fatigue might be your new normal. I was never very hungry when I was pregnant, but I was tired ALL. THE. TIME. If you wanna eat high fat, eat high fat. Follow your cravings. There is no satisfaction in life greater than appeasing a pregnancy craving. Enjoy it because I swear after the baby is born,…
  • All the food ads on instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Can’t get away!!
  • This is seriously the best feeling! This isn't recent – it happened about 10 years ago the first time I lost weight. I was browsing swimsuits in the plus section and a saleslady came up to me and said, "Honey, these are women's. Your section is over here!" and pointed to the regular size section. I still remember that…
  • I was just reading about these in the "New products that caught your eye thread" and I had no idea these things existed! I've got to get some. I need the peppermint!
  • Also, a LOT of ketchup on those fries.
  • Yeah, if you're gonna be miserable either way, why not pick the route that helps you reach your goals? (I say now, on the second week of my cycle HA)
  • Tuna melts with tomato soup – yum! And maybe a spinach salad.
  • @oat_bran made another great point which is that even when you give in and feed the beast, YOU STILL FEEL HUNGRY! That is so true and I can’t believe I never realized it before. That really puts the hormonal cravings and hunger in perspective for me. That it’s not really grounded in reality and I have to wait it out. My…
  • Minestrone is also delicious! I just made this one https://anaffairfromtheheart.com/crock-pot-minestrone-fallforflavor-giveaway-included/ but next time I would leave out the pasta. Also hot chocolate and hot tea alllll winter long.
  • I use Pepperplate to store all my recipes. I also do my meal planning from there for the week, and then you can add all the ingredients to your shopping list which I can access from my phone. I’ve used it for years.
  • You could add it as coconut cream.
  • I'm thiiiiiiiiis close to conquering my own Dragon Dress. It's a lot clingier than the clothes I usually wear, so I haven't quite been brave enough to wear it out yet. I tried it on today and felt pretty good, though.
