There are a bunch of different "keto calculators" online. From what I've seen/read in my (limited) research the weight loss keto percentages seem to usually be around 75% fats, 20% proteins, 5% carbs of your total daily calories. But, of course everyone is different.

I've heard different things on this. Maria Emmerich says in her book Quick and Easy Ketogenic Cooking that anything over 50 calories will break your fast during the intermittent fasting phase. So, if you can go without your caffeine your lemon water is for sure ok if you want to go that route. I've read other resources…

Just make sure you drink A LOT of water with this. I never had "digestive" issues but started taking this after running into a friend . She was like a different person- her skin was gorgeous, her energy level was up, her "pooch" was gone. She swore up and down it was because she was after taking this stuff for the last two…

LOL! Heaven's no! Only a whisper of vermouth and 2 olives please :)

Sorry to hear of your problems. I personally would not take "not extremely concerned" as the final answer if it is something that you are worried about. Look for another MD. Or, If you have the money to do so, you could have additional tests done at lab. You do not need a doctor's prescription to have lab work done - but…

Love it! Totally stealing it - All that's missing is a little bottle of vermouth so I can have my martini's exactly the way I like them :)

You could always tell him he can take carbs and either proteins OR fats with him to a desert island. You get to take fats and proteins. Ask him to guess who will die first? Maybe he has discovered a secret "essential carbohydrate" that is necessary for human life. He better get off Facebook and accept his Nobel prize....

Day 1 Total Net Carbs: 14 Went over on my calories a bit but that's ok. I set my calories pretty low ( 1200 ) It's a weird phycological trick I play on myself - LOL! See ya tomorrow!

That's awesome!

Hi there! May I join in the fun too? I started a keto diet about a week and half ago and it's taken me that long to figure out my macros etc... and just kind of settle into it. I was looking for just this sort of daily exchange with other members - Whoo Hoo! I have 20 lbs to lose. I'm older (55) and starting "The…

Hi Jkens! Good for you!! Yes, I have noticed the energy uptick as well. You may have done this already but have you had a doctor visit to be sure you are not going through some thyroid issues? It's pretty common for menopause and thyroid issues to happen around the same time. I went in and had a bunch of tests done. My…

I'm experiencing similar issues. I have always been a big believer in the science behind a low carb lifestyle but as I've hit 55 and started menopause symptoms and it's not doing the trick. After quite a few women I know ( having similar issues) told me about going more on a ketogenic diet the scale is moving again and I…

It sounds ridiculous in a way but I am one of those people who tried EVERYTHING hoping something would "stick". I'm the Queen of "inconsistent consistency" LOL My best results have been with home workout DVD/Streaming. But, as of January I joined an Orange Theory studio and it has really clicked with me. I figured out that…

So impressed!! Great job!

Brilliant idea to order a cocktail that you don't really like! I'm going to steal that one. You can still feel like you are "participating" and ward off any comments/pestering about "Just order ONE drink!" from your friends LOL! What is a Colorado bulldog by the way? I think I'll throw a ton of salt into my margarita at…

Thanks for sharing everyone! As I'm a "newbie" I so appreciate hearing everyone's ups and downs. I was wondering if I could get some comments on my plan from some of the long time keto members on this challenge. I'm 55 and have about another 20lbs to lose. I was always a low carb person but this past Holiday Season I put…

I'm not really sure what dewd2 is talking about but maybe he's just easily influenced by advertisers. LOL. It's really not that different than walking into a gym and having water bottles or t-shirts with studio logos displayed to buy. They advertise their stuff at the end of the DVD's, no big deal - just turn it off. I've…

Hi Digiducky - Thanks for starting the page! Welcome back and best wishes for getting your macros back on track :)

Hi there - New to My Fitness Pal as of yesterday - Whoo Hoo! Started Keto 4 days ago. I have about 20 lbs to lose. I struggled with losing just 10lbs since January while keeping my Low Carb routine. I'm 55 and just starting menopause - FUN! I've always been able to stay slim and healthy on a Low Carb diet but decided to…

Hello! I have a HUGE library of fantastic DVD workouts that now have a 1/2" layer of dust on them. :( About 5 years ago I was doing DVD workouts at home every day. I felt great and was in fantastic shape. I totally fell off the wagon and am really back to square one. I would LOVE to join this group and have a little…

I've been really happy with Quest Multi-Purpose Protein Powder: 100 cals, 24g pro, 0 fat, 1 carb per serving. It's completely plain so easy to "doctor up" and make whatever flavor you feel like, add good fats etc... It makes fantastic low carb/high protein pancakes etc... too.

Let's do it!

Thanks for the suggestion Mary. I'm going to spend some time today tweaking my meal ideas to be sure that I'm keeping my fat numbers high and protein numbers lower. It's still a little counter intuitive. It takes a bit of time to run numbers and double check % etc... but know it's worth it going into a busy week. Have a…

I just wanted to add that I know it is atypical to worry about calories per say on LC or Keto but for me - At 5'3", 55, hitting menopause - keeping my calories low around 1200-1300 on Keto is ideal. I used to keep my weight/health under control just fine eating low carb and never worrying about calorie totals but that has…

Hi there - New to My Fitness Pal as of yesterday! Whoo Hoo! Started Keto 4 days ago and was thrilled to see this group! I have about 20 lbs to lose. I struggled with losing just 10lbs since January on and off Low Carb so decided to make the leap to full Keto. I've lost another 2lbs thus far. I'm starting menopause and know…
