I congratulate you. That's not easy! I haven't read 100% of the replies in this thread so I apologize if I'm repeating but I felt it was harder to lose my big chunk of weight (90 pounds) vs. keeping it off. I've kept it off for 4 years. The reason I feel like it was harder to lose than maintain is because I think back to…

I can see how this would work in the beginning stages of weight loss when a person has more to lose. I have to echo what some others here have shared and agree that this might be challenging to maintain long term. BUT, maybe he won't have to eat this way long term since once he reaches his goal he can take more liberties…

Round 1 is exciting because every pound & inch lost and every new piece of clothing further motivates you. Round 2+ is more like, "I suck because I did this to myself again and I know how hard this is going to be." Anyone can do it but it ain't easy.

I'm not sure if you're only looking for female input but I'm the same age as you and have had a similar history. I got in shape back in 2011 and had a great time doing it & actually ENJOYED it but eventually let it slip away and ended up as large as I started. I decided "enough is enough" back in 2017 and lost lots of…

You will (hopefully) only have one honeymoon. You will have the rest of your life to exercise and eat reasonably. Enjoy it! Like someone else said, you don't have to eat like you're never going to eat again at every meal but the reason we can occasionally splurge is because it's the exception and the norm. HAVE FUN! You'll…

Yep, Scott pretty much summed it up perfectly. You can't target fat loss. You lose where you lose and the more you lose the better the chances of it coming off where you want. If your skin is stretched out it may never look totally flat like a person who has never been fat.

You're definitely doing something right. Congrats!

You're 64?

Something where you don't have to think. A DVD to follow is great because you don't use up time leaving your house and you can do it in a small space. Rent a couple DVDs from the library and see which works for you. I've lost and kept off 85 pounds with Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30. Half an hour time…

P.S. My stomach doesn't look inflated, it looks like flab on the lower area. Some other parts of my body are like that too but again, it's just because I was so big and I don't think anything short of surgery (which I'm against) would "fix" it. I wear that flab like battle scars.

I went from 270 pounds to 181 and I have kept it there for a year. I have visible upper abs and if I stretch just right visible lower abs but I stretched my skin out so much being so huge that I will always have loose skin. That's just kind of the way it goes.

My uncle had one of those procedures years ago and lost a good chunk of weight (initially). Since it basically makes you lose by starvation a good amount of his weight is back. He never dealt with the actual issues that made him obese in the first place PLUS he has issues related to the surgery where he eats as much as he…

Regardless of how it was done, that is an amazing achievement. Keep it up.

I'll try to keep this short so you don't have to read another novel. You have accomplished a GREAT amount regarding weight loss and your career. You are a stable guy and I hate to say it but the solid bank account and 401k are going to help you with the ladies (especially if you date ones around your age). Don't advertise…

We established what kind of face it is. It DOES involve lifting but not at the gym. Lifting brownies all up on to my face IIRC.

Is "brownies" a euphemism for female genitalia or something?
