  • I was the same way, I started weighing once a week, then it went to two, then everyday. I got upset anytime the scale showed a gain. Instead of going back to once a week, I decided to start a spreadsheet and start seriously tracking my weight each day. It totally changed my way of thinking as far as the scale is concerned.…
  • Greek yogurt for breakfast and tuna fish for lunch everyday for the last 4 weeks
  • I have over 150lbs to lose...I'm down 22 so far. I can always use more female friends for motivation and support. I'll send you a request.

  • I have a goal of 150 pounds. Can use all the support/motivation I can get as well. :)
  • CT only height on their licenses not weight. But to answer your question, I have a main goal of losing 150lbs, but I look at each 10lbs as a milestone loss. Each 50Lbs will be a medium sized goal. This makes it much less overwhelming when I think about what I have to lose.
  • Hi Lucy...We have a lot in common! I'm trying to do the same thing...feel healthy. I also looked in to WLS but nope, insurance won't cover it. I had convinced myself that I would do it in 2 years, when I think I'd be able to cover the cost, but have since decided to give it one more go at trying on my own first. So far…

  • That's so true. I really try not to look to far ahead, but sometimes I can't help thinking about what I'm going to be able to do once the weight is gone. I REALLY want to go on a zip line...so that will be my reward to myself once I've lost the weight. I do have smaller goals...I only look 10lbs ahead...every 10 is a…
  • Such a mix of genres. I love it! Goes to show what works for one may not work for another! My playlist for today included some 50's - Wake up Little Susie, Rockin Robin, Book of Love, etc. and some 80's - Gloria by Laura Branigan, White Wedding by Billie Idol, Karma Chameleon, etc.
  • I'm still in the beginning stages but so far, the food diary has helped so much. And I was really (pleasantly) surprised by how nice people are on here and how genuinely supportive everyone seems to be. That is going to be invaluable when things start to get harder. But that doesn't really answer your question. I think…
  • Hi James. This time is it. I'm finally taking things seriously. I think MFP is going to be a life changer. I've only been here just over a week and have already spoken with several people that are in similar situations to me. In my home/work life I am the biggest person I know so having people that I can talk to that…
  • You got it...adding you now :)
  • Hi Kristen - According to the charts, I need to lose about 200lbs, though I have set my goal at 150. I'm going to see how I feel once I get there. Oh my god the pain is horrible at this weight. It hurts just to stand up, much less go for a walk! This is my first week on MFP, but I started trying to lose a couple of months…

  • About 10 years ago I lost 85lbs (I have since gained it all back plus). I felt amazing!! I was wearing tank tops in the summer, hell I even put on shorts (they went down to my knees, but that was a huge milestone for me). The negative was that I was told I need to gain weight. That I was more attractive/prettier when I was…
  • I don't check my weight everyday, once a week is good enough for me, but I do use the food diary, check my newsfeed, make sure I comment or post something everyday. This is still new for me, I've only been on MFP now for a week, but I've lost 2lbs this week, so I'm happy. I am finding that I am becoming slightly obsessed…
  • Connecticut - Looking for friends who can motivate!
  • Surprisingly, as cheesy as it may sound, I have found it works for me. I hope you find that it does for you too!
  • Hello - I'm Jenn, from CT. I've been big all my life but a couple months ago I weighed in at my heaviest...334. I've gone up and down through the years, most recently losing fifty pounds two years ago, but gained it back plus 24lbs! My motivation at this point is my health. With high blood pressure, a thyroid condition,…
  • I've just started on here, but the food diary is very motivational to me. It helps me focus and helps keep me on track. I'm actually eating more now knowing how many calories, carbs, protein, etc. that I can have to accomplish my goal. Another trick I use is when they have treats at work I take a peak at my diary for the…
  • Thank you for the kind words and well wishes. I am really looking forward to this. :) :)
