  • I saw a photo of myself at my highest weight and knew something had to change. I was sick of crying while trying on clothes. Sick of having to unbutton my pants because they were too tight and digging into my fat gut. Sick of feeling like I was in someone else's skin. I didn't feel like myself anymore.
  • If you're drinking bulletproof coffee and not logging it, sure that would sabotage your weight loss. But that can be around 300 calories and not what the typical coffee drinker drinks. I don't see how black coffee or coffee with low calorie sweeteners would be detrimental whatsoever though. I'd love to see some of these…
  • Rinse, seasoning, cooking in stock, I'm sure you know those things. The restaurants are probably also cooking it in tons of flavor like butter, oil, etc. Would you add tons of butter to your own? Probably not. Restaurants make things more flavorful by adding those flavor enhancers.
  • Can anyone tell me the opposite? I started almost 60 lbs ago at a D cup and I'm still at a D cup....this doesn't seem that difficult to me...
  • Yeah, but I feel like I'll be much happier having maintenance calories of around 1700 versus my current weight loss calories of only 1200.
  • Thanks! I love Kari. She's so adorable, so I take that as a compliment! :)
  • The first 30-40 lbs gone I was feeling healthier and happier. Ten months total now and 55 lbs down, I feel like it's a never ending journey and I'll be dieting forever. I only have 15 lbs left to lose, but it's seeming farther and farther away for some reason. I think I'm just absolutely sick of weight loss, dieting,…
  • As a fellow natural redhead (although not at the moment), I'd say we're even. :)
  • If you ENJOY drinking, just do it in moderation. I subbed beer for vodka soda and it's really helped. If I remember correctly, vodka is about 70 calories per ounce. Just work it into your calories for the day. Do an extra workout in the morning etc. You can have a few drinks and still lose weight.
  • I really don't work out much. The only thing I do is Zumba occasionally. For the first 45 lbs, my diet mainly consisted of whatever I felt like eating that kept me under 1200 calories. This was usually Lean Cuisines for lunch and lean meat and veggies for dinner. The last 10 lbs I've been doing Keto. So right now I'm…
  • I found another "before" picture from when I was about 165.
  • I don't hate it every day. It's usually fine, but I started it because my husband is doing it and I don't want to cook two different types of meals every day. Once I hit my goal weight, I'll probably move up to low carb and work up to moderate carb so I don't gain a ton of weight back right away. I don't foresee it as a…
  • I've lost almost 60 lbs, but I've only last the last 7 on Keto. I've been doing it for about 2 months. My husband has been doing it for 3 months and has lost 40 lbs. He enjoys it more than I do. I'm not loving it, to be honest, but I'm still doing it because it seems to be working for the moment. But I almost cried at the…
  • Thanks! I'm sure you look fantastic. Congrats on the loss so far!! Don't post until you feel comfortable, but I can't wait to see your transformation.
  • Thanks, everyone! I'd like to get back down to where I was when I got married almost 10 years ago. I was about 118 and a size 0. For being not even quite 5'2" (I'm actually 5'1.5") I carry my weight surprisingly well for my small frame. I'm not very muscular, but I can look pretty thin at around 120.
  • Thanks! I think most of it is hips, boobs, and thighs. Haha!
  • It's a wig, but it's why I went from red to blonde. One more session at the salon and it'll be platinum with pastel rainbow colors just like the avi. :)
  • I use cottage cheese in lasagna instead of ricotta, and it's AMAZING, so that doesn't seem weird to me.
  • Thanks! I eat a high fat breakfast, and I'm hungry at about 1pm until 2am lol I usually have eggs, bacon, avocado and coffee with MCT oil - at least 350 calories worth of breakfast. Then I'm full until lunchtime, but after that I stay hungry the rest of the day and my stomach growls while I'm trying to sleep. It's…
  • I've been doing it for almost 2 months now. My husband has been doing it a little longer. He's lost almost 40 lbs. I've lost about 5 (but I'm a lot closer to my goal). I like keto, but everyone else goes on and on about how they stopped feeling hungry after doing keto and they "forget to eat" etc....but I'm hungry ALL THE…
  • It's on the low end of a normal BMI so it's not "too low" necessarily. But everyone's body is different and carries weight differently, so what you might look like at 125 at 5'7" could be COMPLETELY different from another person with the same height and weight.
  • I eat pizza, candy, Taco Bell, etc. when I have room for it in my daily calories, and I just had my blood drawn for insurance purposes (I get $1000 off annually if I get a blood panel done) and the lady said I had the best numbers she had seen all day. I'm not thin. I'm 139 lbs at 5'2". Still overweight. But you can be…
  • No matter what you weigh, you can still lose weight eating Snickers every now and then if you are in a calorie deficit for the day. If you only have 100 calories left for the day, don't eat the snickers. If you have 500 calories left, go for it if that's what you are craving and want to use your calories on. If you have…
  • Add me to the "Snickers are amazing" group. Second only to Reese's peanut butter cups.
  • It's more of the "drama queen", "read a book", and speaking in condescending tones that I'm referring to. Challenging inaccurate information is great as long as people are doing it in a constructive way.
  • All of this fighting is probably not helpful to the OP and is probably turning her off from reading all of the helpful comments that people are making. It's not productive.
  • The biggest change for me was to stop trying to "diet" and to start eating the things I enjoy but in moderation. I don't deprive myself of any of the things I love to eat, I just make room for them in my daily calories. If I really want that cookie but I'm low on calories left for the day, I might have to do a 10 minute…
  • 50 lbs down - January and August 2017
  • I don't drive either. I have treadmill and a workout area in my basement. I mainly just do Zumba DVDs. lol Honestly though, I don't really work out too much. I figure I'll focus on working out and toning up once I've lost most the fat.
  • I would, but unfortunately it wouldn't be too helpful since I mainly just calculate the calories in my head. Sometimes I log breakfast and lunch but not dinner because I know I've only eaten within the calorie amount I had left etc. For breakfast every day I usually just eat a turkey sausage bagel or English muffin with…
