I eat 1200 a day (I had 100 pounds to lose) and eat 3 meals plus 2 or 3 snacks a day. If you are having a hard time eating 1200 calories I don't get it but would suggest you add some calorie dense foods like nuts and cheese and oil.

I do include alcohol but only at the most two days a month. For those social events I save my calories and I choose lower calorie drinks and only have a couple or I will make bad food choices too. When I choose to drink I figure it in to my calorie allotment and choose lower calorie drinks. When I go to a party I take water with me. I think people who qualify for assistance should be allowed to manage how they use it to buy groceries the same as the rest of us.

It increases your appetite not your weight...that increase from eating too much and not moving enough.

Add some higher calorie foods or use some olive oil or butter to cook with. It isn't healthy to go below 1,000 calories. It would suck if your hair started falling out or worse.

I am at a 1200 calorie a day goal. I usually eat half of those during the day and save half for dinner.

I am 5'8 currently 205 started at 250. I do 1200 calories a day and most days I manage ok on that. Your picture doesn't look like you have a lot to lose so 1200 is probably low. Hard to know without your stats. I would start higher and adjust depending on if you are losing or not.

I include the "good stuff" in my life. I have just learned one slice versus a half a pizza or manage calories and exercise differently on days I have social events.
