I found that setting some smaller goals worked better for me in terms of motivation. Like I am going to walk 15 minutes a day or I am going to give up soda. Making small manageable goals will keep you focused on the big picture which is to get healthier!

Kids should be taught to eat healthy and to be active. Counting calories seems like a bit much.
-
I started my exercise goals small. I began by saying I will walk twice a day. It was only around the block because that was all I could do but I started a habit I could build on. You can do this...just start with manageable baby steps.

I'm in

Drink water and take a walk or eat something low cal high fiber (like veggies)

You can add me. I have lost 30 and have 70 to go before maintenance. I have logged in every day except when I was on vacation and didn't have wifi. My diary is open to friends!

I leave my macros set at the default but I almost always need more protein to feel full and I never get even close. Honestly the thing I am concerned with is how many calories I eat because that is what affects weight.
-
Increase water and protein. Try going for a walk when the need to munch hits and see if that decreases it. Have a piece of dark chocolate and include it in your calorie count.

I quit smoking cold turkey after a 40 year habit. Your mind is the most powerful tool you have so you make the decision and do it. Drink a lot of water and when the urge get bad take a power walk! good luck.

100 to lose total. 30 down

It should be on the container

I agree with the other posters. USE mfp to record everything and eat real food to keep it sustainable.

I'm good with shorts and a t-shirt but when I drop my weight(30 down 70 to go) my reward will be a nice workout outfit lol!
-
You got this. Just get started eating less and moving more. Track it here! Remember you didn't gain it overnight you won't lose it overnight and stick with it no matter what!

I do not understand any benefit in fasting

I am also a teacher. Feel free to add me if you want honest support. I am 30 pounds down and 70 to go!

No pic but I make a hash of zucchini, onion, red and green peppers sauteed in a skillet using no stick spray with a couple of fried eggs on top. Around 200 calories and amazingly filling. If you have the calories throw on some cheese!

You are doing an amazing job! Thanks for sharing...gives me hope!

You should be able to plug in your info and have mfp calculate it for you.

The best time to start is today. If you are worried about caffeine withdrawal headaches switch to tea or diet soda. Maybe add a couple of 15 minute walks a day (huge stress reliever). I find summer easier because the weather is more conducive to outdoor activities.
-
You got this! When I started I set my exercise goal as I will walk 2 times a day. I didn't set a time or a distance because I was super out of shape. In the beginning it was just around the block but I starting building that habit and that mindset and as that got easier I went further for longer. Keep it simple!

Glad you are doing something now. I complained about how out of shape I was for years while I got fatter and more out of shape. We got this now!!!!

I have chosen to skip the alcohol at events. Two reasons for this: alcohol has a lot of calories and when I drink I don't manage how much food I eat. I save calories the day of and eat a snack before I go.

Thinking about my 2 day old grand daughter...Good grief I am a grandma!
-
You can. I choose not to because I don't totally trust the database numbers and I have a lot of weight to lose so I eat my 1200 and I am golden.

Have you cut back on your sleep to fit in exercise? A mid morning cup of coffee or green tea might help
