What an interesting article, Kim! I can't begin to understand how AI works and have never used it, so I found his efforts of questioning fascinating. It's like he dialogued with it. I also fear how AI could progress and become more inaccurate or corrupt as time goes on.

This has been a great spring! Back in Atlanta, the temps were like summertime in May or even earlier, so east TN weather has been a blessing. Gentle showers occasionally and upper 60s most of the week. I walked in the neighborhood today, hoping to gradually increase my distance. Also trying to drink more water.

What were your favorites, Connie? Has anyone read Fisher's book?
-
Thanks for posting this, Kim. There's so much false teaching out there, and it's only going to get worse I fear. Jesus willingly suffered unimaginable pain and agony - for us! On this day between, I love to reflect on the African pastor's sermon, It's Friday, but Sunday's Coming!

Happy Resurrection weekend everyone! It's been a busy few days, mainly focusing on taxes through late Tuesday night. Then several church activities. I didn't have to play for any of them, so I could just relax and enjoy. I didn't want to get out on Thursday night, so I enjoyed a "Service of Darkness" online. Very moving…

Connie - I love how your pastor has been mentoring the Myanmar pastor and that he was able to easily pass the test. The earthquake has got to be so hard on the members and their loved ones back there. I heard that the death count is up to 1,600, with more than that injured. Praying for all involved, and please keep us…

I'm thankful you weren't in the middle of those storms, Connie. I wanted to see if you had posted anything yesterday, but my Internet was down most of the day. We had thunder storms for about 3 hours during the night, but no major problems other than high winds. Cindy and Kim, thanks for the helpful Christmas cactus…

Connie, how is your pastor doing? I'm glad you mentioned Frankincense oil because I've never heard of it. Sometimes I have muscle pain in my hands, so that might be of help rather than always relying on Tylenol, etc. Did you try it, Kim? I hate the spring time change, although I do like more evening hours of light. I'm…

Wow, that picture says it all, Kim. And yes, I also think that it's the true Christians that are the target of Satan's attacks. Some popular church pastors seem to be on shaky ground, yet they draw huge followings. There's a lesson for us there. It's good to be like the Bereans and compare what's being taught against the…

We are so different in our veggie likes/dislikes, which I totally expected. I'm not crazy about raw spinach, but love it cooked almost any way. Simply steamed is my favorite. I also love turnip greens and often buy them in bags. I used to cut the stems off, but finally gave up and just eat them. A huge NO to broccoli,…

Thanks for posting those books, Kim. The Linda Ford book was new to me until I clicked on the link and saw that I got it in 2020, probably free then also. It's somewhere in my Kindle archives!
-
I cannot stand broccoli! I hate not liking something that's so healthy, but just the smell turns me off. And I've never found a way to mask it, Kim. I try to make up for it by eating a lot of spinach, which I love any way it's prepared. Thanks for your prayers, Kim. Weather is good here so far. Woke up to a beautiful…

I love how the Message uses "passion" in the first phrase of the Matthew 22 passage. I find that translation very helpful at times.
-
So much richness in that passage, Kim. I love it! That was one of my first memory assignments way back in my Christian Doctrine class in Bible college. And I'm so glad you shared those Puritan cards. The second one is so funny - and probably very realistic. Did you get snow today, Connie? Our snow is supposed to start in a…

Connie, I'm enjoying your word of the month. Especially "passion," which is fun to explore. My first thought was "The Passion of the Christ" and all the rich biblical meaning behind that phrase. Then there's the meaning Kim alluded to - things about which we have strong feelings, fervor, devotion, etc. There's also the…

I'm so glad you were able to figure it out, Connie! It's amazing what you can learn on YouTube. When my dryer started making loud noises a few months ago, our retired pastor said to let him try repairing it rather than calling someone. When I walked by to see if he needed anything, he was watching a YouTube video. And he…

Lynndy - Does your church do short-term mission trips? My church back in Atlanta did 1-2 trips a year, with several people taking vacation time to go. Often a parent and teen would go together. One of my goals is to be more active, like taking regular walks in the neighborhood. It's a beautiful area with mountain views,…

I've been sick for what seems like the longest time - not Covid, thankfully - probably my normal cold/sinus stuff. It's so good to finally feel better and be back with you. Life here in east Tennessee has been pretty routine otherwise. Winter storms have come close, but gone around us for the most part. However, cold…
-
Welcome, Lynndy! It's good to have you here. I read a lot of fiction, but am trying to increase my non-fiction reading this year. My son-in-law wrote a book about the faith of Richard Nixon that was published last August, ONE LOST SOUL, and I'm slowly reading that. This isn't a book exactly, but I'm enjoying the…

I finished Elizabeth Camden's WHILE THE CITY SLEEPS. Her strength is historical detail, and NYC of 1913 was fascinating. I enjoyed it overall, but one theme was connected to the Mafia, which I don't care for. Camden handled it well, though. Not sure what I'll read next. I got Melody Carlson's A ROYAL CHRISTMAS through…

We're having a winter storm in East Tennessee! Not like you had, Connie, but a good snow for us. Has your snow started melting yet? It began falling here around noon today and is supposed to end by morning. I got home before it started sticking on the streets and don't plan on leaving the house anytime soon. Temps won't…

Connie, I can't believe you didn't lose power. What a blessing that is! Even back when I was in graduate school in NW Kansas, I don't believe we ever had that much snow. Like you said, I think it would be beautiful - until I needed to go out, or until it started to melt. Praying the city gets you cleared soon. Kim, isn't…

I love your collage, Connie! Really makes your favorites stand out. You've got me eager to read Michelle Shocklee now. I'm hoping to read many more books this year. I'm still reading shorter Christmas-themed books, but I did start WHILE THE CITY SLEEPS by Elizabeth Camden. Really enjoying it so far.
-
Connie, I only used book funnel back when I was reviewing books whenever the author delivered manuscripts that way, so I didn't have any negative experiences.
-
Connie - I pray you and Bill are surviving the storm without loss of power, etc. Ice can be so destructive! Snow was predicted for our area in east TN, but I believe it has gone slightly north of us. That can change tomorrow, of course, but we're just having rain at the moment and temps are above freezing. And I'm thrilled…

Connie, that's great! Did you miss any states? I plan on tracking state settings this year, but not to try and catch every state. It's just interesting to see where I've visited. Kim, I'm sure you learn a lot about the countries in those biographies. Fantasy can be fun too!
-
Happy New Year to all! I'm having a quiet evening, exactly what I enjoy most. I picked up some chicken pot pie soup at Publix today, which is really good, so I'll sit down with that and a good book shortly. It's been interesting to watch tributes to President Carter on TV. I remember his presidency well, and it wasn't…

I'm reading a couple of Christmas books right now, both very good - KEEPING CHRISTMAS by Dan Walsh and A WREATH OF SNOW by Liz Curtis Higgs. I thought I had read all of Walsh's Christmas books, but apparently missed this one.
-
I love how you group your 5-star and WOW reads, Connie. I hope to read some of these soon. Thank you!
-
It's quiet here too, Kim. Your Christmas day sounds delightful. Beth and Daniel came for brunch, and I'm just relaxing now. Daniel makes the best 3-egg omelets! I had bacon/sausage and grits cooked, then laid out the omelet fixings and he did the rest. I'm making three meals out of mine. Last night's service was so sweet.…
