Amazing changes, well done!! I'm finding it easier to lose in my 40's than when I was in my 30's. I think my determination and outlook on life has changed though.

Day 7 done - I did 30 squats & 20 lunges at the gym (as well as plenty of crunches & push ups so no break with those). So only a few extra I did at home.

Absolutely! So many people tell me I must be used to this being from Australia, but it's very different. You can't escape it here, and 32 degrees here is more like 40 back home.
-
I am also Australian and used to that kind of heat, but not used to no air con. Completely sleepless nights, stinking hot and can ever escape it. Much rather Australian heat than this.

Day 4 done! I can't imagine doing 100 crunches at the end of this, but luckily slow steps.

I'm in! I'll start with day 3 today.

I'm interested

I will sometimes go around 300-500 calories over my goal one day (around maintenance) on the weekend, just to allow for eating out and some wine. I then go 50-100 below goal for the rest of the week. I've still always had a loss that week. It's about the full week's CICO not just one day.

I know how you feel! Last weekend I had 3 social events where I didn't want to continually worry about what I was eating and drinking, I just wanted to enjoy it. These social events in the past were the reason I gave up. I just limit what I eat and drink to a small extent but just accept I'll mostly be eating at…

My PT always told me that after a heavy gym session it's good to have a rest day, but if you've just done a light jog, cycle lighter session you wouldn't need it.

Awesome!! Well done!

I'm from Melbourne but living in London at the moment.

You're the same height & weight as me with the same aim. I'll be so thrilled when I get below 140.

I've had a very alcohol-heavy weekend. Lots of fun with old friends but I know what the scales will say. I need these weekends every so often though. Every other time I've tried losing I've thought I had to give up those kinds of boozy social weekends. Now I know to just get back on track and not feel bad about it. I'm…

I'm currently living in London & have done a few trips to the continent, & agree that portion sizes are much smaller over here which really helps. Enjoy the local food but just limit the amounts. Keep logging & do lots of walking. Most importantly- enjoy!!

Congratulations!! Sorry to hear about the cheating! You done brilliantly, keep going!

I'm 43! Feel free to add me.

Me too! With summer coming and lots more social events the wine is creeping back in.

Thanks so much everyone for sharing your experiences. You have convinced me to keep going. I think I'll see a physio too to make sure I don't injure myself further.

How do you edit your post?

We eat out at least once a week. At first I found it tricky, even picking the meals that would be the lowest calories and making sure to eat less if it was a big portion. What I find tricky is knowing what to log it as, and knowing that my week probably won't be as accurate as I can't be sure what I've logged is correct. I…

Yep I'm with you there! I'm 43 and never had to worry about my weight until I hit 40. Occasionally in my 30's I'd get a bit heavier than I liked but could drop the weight easily. I've now been going 7 weeks and lost 13 lbs (most of that in the first 4 weeks though, very little recently). Nothing's going to stop me though,…

My girls both do dancing & I wonder whether any of the body images issues may come from that. Dancers are so focused on their body because body type is considered such a big thing, particularly in ballet. So many girls who love dancing are told they're too big to be a good dancer. I worry about this too.

Please add me too! I'm 43 from Australia currently living in London. Mother of 2 girls. I had 30lbs to lose, currently down 12 after 6 weeks. I need motivation and connections with other mums in a similar situation.

I currently weigh 156 lbs (down from 168) and am 5'5". I'm only slightly overweight but I'd like to get down to 140. I've only said to my girls that I want to be healthier, and eat healthier. I have mentioned to other people in their presence that I wasn't happy with all the weight I'd put on recently, so they do know I'd…
