  • That's a good idea. I think I am just over that adjustment period, since I am finally losing weight and am getting less and less sore from workouts. Thanks!
  • I maintain on 3000 and I'm 5'5.5, not THAT much taller. fairly unusual among the normal population, but not those who work out regularly/hard.
  • Thanks! I loooove cottage cheese but I totally forgot about it. Eggs are awesome but I'm not that into the whites only so the fat puts a limit on how many I can eat :expressionless:
  • I am at the point of not concentrating well and being very irritable but, I'm averaging more like 1700 this past week, not 2000. Net burn from activity generally 800-1200. So I am definitely in a deficit but I feel like it's more of a psychological trap - if I can get myself out of it I will be ok. My brain is freaking out…
  • LOL excellent question. That was very much an approximation. I let myself have a treat every week, whether it's a meal or some ice cream or whatever.
  • Yeah I'm eating about 95% clean right now. I'll try to increase protein and see if that helps! I'm finding it harder than expected to hit 120-140g per day though... Lots of chicken I guess
  • Thanks for all the suggestions. Currently: Female, early 20s 151 lbs 5'5.5 24% bf according to my home scale (but who knows if that has any accuracy at all). Goal is 130, 20% bf (I know I will have to lose some muscle for this but I'm a little bulky now imo). Looking at what I was eating before, I was maintaining on 3000…
  • I'm sure I am less active than I was in college... So that's a fair point. But I do wear a fitbit and my calorie burn is still 2400+ every day. I am in my 20s so fortunately not dealing with a decline in metabolism etc yet :)
  • That's a really smart idea! I have used food scales in the past but usually lack the discipline to use them all the time. I will give it a shot though. That's interesting, I have heard a lot of varying things about what causes weight gain. I know some meds I tried (for example seroquel) made me ravenous and crave sugar.…
  • That's interesting that you mentioned weight gain from lifting. I did just start lifting and strength training again although my overall volume of activity hasn't changed. I'm technically at week 2 right now, but I don't know if it applies to me since I take continuous birth control for my PMDD.
  • I too take a mood stabilizer + antipsychotic. I've been eating 1500-2000 calories which has been successful for me at this activity level in the past. I'm eating almost all Whole Foods with the exception of protein bars. I'm glad it worked for him but I don't know what else to do!
  • That is an AMAZING transformation, congrats! I think you guys are right, in that a more gradual weight loss to shed 10-15 pounds would be a better place to start.
  • Very helpful. Thank you. I ranged from 110-120 in high school with the 120 my senior year. But I didn't finish growing till I was 18 or so, so my ideal weight may be closer to 130. I've pretty much always been a C/D but keep in mind it's a 32 band size so that doesn't implicate anything huge LOL. Pretty much all of the…
  • Yeah that does sound a little weird. It's not an entirely frequent thing but I was a rower through a good deal of college so we sort of had to discuss weight in terms of the boat's balance and how much we're pulling. Not a normal human topic of conversation.
  • That's a good idea. I lack discipline but I do need something to kick my butt into a specific program. Do you have any suggestions? According to my scale my BF% right now is around 24% but I don't know how accurate that is, hence why I didn't post it above.
  • I guess I am just tired of people being like "wow! you weigh over 150!? dang" and showing up as overweight on the BMI scales. For a guy it's not as big of a deal but in the community I'm in makes me feel kind of gross. You're right about the performance thing - I'd like to get back into running but I know I am…
  • You're right. I realize that it might be deceptive and I'm not as healthy as I think, and that's been the basis for me making an account and starting up here in the first place. I'll look into how much a pod assessment is. Thanks.
  • Lol I do work out 6 days a week. I do not lift all of those days but I do a combination of steady state cardio, HIIT circuits + lifting. Idk what my maxes are right now but I did leg press 300+ pounds the other day. I do have a body type that tends towards muscle gain (as much as a lot of males, oddly).
