I know exactly what you mean. When I don't cheat and stick strictly to keto, I have to find ways to add more calories because I feel so stuffed by the end of the day. I LOVE IT! I would rather struggle with trying to eat more than fight temptation and try to eat less. But for someone who has spent her whole life fighting…

@SCoil123 , probably because they were hoping someone could convince them it's all worth it in the end and that it would get easier. Or give them ideas on alternative exercises they might enjoy better where they don't feel like they are killing themselves. I despise traditional exercise and I always wonder if anyone who…

I do not lump private schools in with government funded public schools. Though my kids did have ONE good experience at a certain public school that actually went against the current laws and taped up bible verses and Christian quotes all over the school. They believed in pushing kids to achieve more than just their grade…

How old is this study? What demographic was it focusing on? How many participants in this study? Age group? How is a child more socialized sitting with similar aged children in an environment that requires them to sit quietly and listen almost the entire time they are there with only an hour of break in between? And part…

You really focused on one word? Did you skim my posts to look for something to use against me and found I misspelled a word? GJ! Gold star for you!

And you..what? Chose to ignore the sequence of events that led to my defense of homeschooling? Had my decision to homeschool not been attacked, and the only commenters had been other homeschoolers with lists I asked for and not opinionated nosy haters who felt inclined to defend their choice to public school when the topic…

Everyone here is right.. Chill. Don't over do it. Find something you enjoy doing that won't feel like exercise. Window shopping counts! Swimming leisurely counts! You don't have to run a marathon or do laps in a pool. Eat under maintenance. Your deficient doesn't have to be huge. Count a .2 loss a win. Count no loss but…

Sheesh.. all I asked for was free sites to add to my list!

The few good teachers can't make up for the load of BS that goes on in the system. My kids went to a wealthier school district where my son learned that boys can wear dresses if they want.. while he was in the first grade. Talk about damage control. And they refused to accept that he was gifted. They wanted to medicate him…

It isn't for everyone but it irks me that someone has the nerve to condemn homeschooling when they are clueless and uneducated to what actually goes on and how adjusted these kids can be. I frankly think my sister in law SHOULD have sent her son to public school.. for at least 5 years. She had no clue and tried to baby him…

@Lounmoun Awesome. Thank you! Some of these I haven't heard of. Khan is on my list as well as dulingo.. I'm not a fan of dulingo, but I know many other parents love it so I listed it. I can't wait to look up these others and add them to the lists.

Pro's of homeschooling? .Interest led education .Focus on passions instead of filling their minds with useless information .Higher self-esteems; don't know the word "can't" .Schooling is on going/ year round. .I can school them at the park, zoo, beach, amusement park.. Everything is a lesson! .We can drop everything and…

Homeschooled children are better adjusted socially than public schooled children, tend to make higher grades in college, are usually more successful in their chosen careers, and are less likely to suffer from mental disabilities in the future. My son just graduated from homeschool. He aced the ACT's and is headed to…

Seriously. I live at the beach. I'm thinking maybe they just don't do it here? Or as often? Or in public? But then I never saw anyone chew gum in Colorado either.. lots did in Texas.. Must be certain areas with certain quirks. Gum chewing doesn't bother me.. or at least I don't think it would.. But I haven't been plagued…

Lol.. Chewing gum doesn't bother me.. I just never met an adult who does it.. or at least no one in public. Could be a location thing. Some locations do it while others just don't? Or not as much? As for what will I do? Stop the kids car and demand to know where their parents are and why they are behind the wheel without a…

My daughter got "fluffy" during puberty. She leveled out as she got older. She too has a healthy self image. I'd just get her more active rather than form an unhealthy image of food. If she is eating healthy already, she should start to level out as she goes through growth spurts. Teach her through example, not through…

My sister in law likes it and talks about the high she would get going to the gym in her youth. My daughter also seems to enjoy it. The only thing I liked was the rush of running and running. Like I could run forever and never get winded. That's LONG gone! My sons like me. Hates the soreness, hates sweat.. maybe it's…

Huh.. I've never met anyone who chews gum? Kids did in school but I've never seen an adult do it. Weird. Seemed like a kids candy.. Lots of things irk me. Overly cautious drivers.. Rude drivers.. Fat kids.. Rude kids.. People trying to talk to me when I'm trying to read or write. People who only see in black and white and…

Didn't get that far in my plans. I dunno.. read a book or something? Take a karate class? Frown menacingly at gawkers? Life's good. So many options.

I like Earl Nightingales quote, "Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyways." The time will pass no matter what path you chose to follow or fall off of. Might as well chose to use that time to improve upon you.

I hate exercise too, except walking.. So like others are suggesting, do something you like. Swimming burns a lot of calories! Walking in the sand on the beach just looking for shells burns 30%-50% more calories that hitting the pavement. I couldn't do dancing because I hate music, but I LOVE hiking and fishing and camping.

When I first cut sodas, it was cold turkey. I had always drank soda and coffee and as much as I wanted. I..was..pure..evil! For a month I was in some serious withdrawal. At the same time I had cut ALL junk food. This was the hardest thing I had ever done and I was 22 when I had done it. I hear it gets harder with age. But…

No. That's why I never log when I DO actually work out. I walk nearly every day for 30min or more (dog walking business) but sometimes I swim or walk on the beach. My diary makes me look lazy though.

Agreed on making it at home. Then you control the ingredient. Chicken salad is generally healthy..

Mine are teens and my nephew is in the 3rd grade. My oldest is graduated.

Pfft! When I decided to do keto, my family got stuck doing keto too! I DO put my family first, and part of doing that is making sure they grow up healthy and making good choices too! It's a parents job to give then the building blocks they need to succeed. As for waiting on their support?? I don't need others validation to…

Hmm my anxiety is lower since starting low carb (under 100g) but the nightmares are more entertaining. When I have too many carbs for the day, (over100g), that's when I start having anxiety and regret issues. Definitely get that checked out. Each person is different.
