Thanks for being there! As of today, Tuesday, March 24, 2018, I need accountability. I have a two parallel goals, one for physical exercise and one for music practice. This is a two-year dual goal, one day at a time. 1. Active exercise daily, including calesthenics three xs week. 2. Work back up to two hours a day, every…

So glad to find this thread. I need to bust through on my goal to increase exercise and muscle strength. It has been the hardest place of resistance for years. I’ll be 70 in June and, by then, want to be physically fit after sitting behind a desk for years. I know I need daily accountability. It worked on the food. Ready…

Thanks, Barbie, for leading out this thread for more “mature” adults! I do need to connect more on MFP with older women who refuse to atrophy. After six months on MFP and logging every day plus increasing exercise from hardly any to 5,000+ steps a day, I am .8 lb. away from goal! It really helped to log everything. That’s…

Mini-goal: 5,000 steps a day, no excuses Positive, encouraging attitude toward myself Remain on 1200 calories and login every day

The first week is awareness. You found out what it will take. You can sit down now and look at your hurdles and figure out how you can overcome each one. When I first started logging, it was a BIG pain in the bippy. Now, after over two months, it is a small pain in the bippy, but the rewards of weight loss and a stronger…

Thx, Verdenal. My calorie intake is 1,200 and I don't want to go lower. So I'm gradually upping my steps and speed, which I have neglected for many years. I'll get there! Am feeling better about it all. I just hit an emotional speed bump and all the encouragement really helps. What I hear you saying is we do it, motivated…

I'm so new to the community part of MFP that I didn't see these comments until today! But they are just when I needed them. How can any of us succeed without encouragement? Thank you, everybody, for taking time to lift me up. By God's grace, I made it over that hump and am still losing slowly but steadily. It is amazing.…

But you and I are all trying. We are getting in there every day, no matter what the results. We are adjusting and pushing through the hard times. With God's help, we are going to win! I'm so proud of you...and me! Go for it, one day at a time!

Tracking and weighing has been more help than I thought. Even if I go over occasionally, at least I know it and I can't blame the lack of results on too much salt!

Your voice is going to be so powerful in the medical community. PLEASE don't stop speaking out. Sometimes it takes a "death sentence" to motivate a person to change, but even then, like some alchoholics, some will refuse. Still, speak! All we can do is share our experience, strength and hope. Some will listen and be…

You all inspire me! I sit at a computer all day, but I do two things. I set my calories at 1200/day (give or take 50) with no nibbling. I use a Garmin watch which tells me to move if I sit too long. Surprising how much that helps. I'll get up and walk around, go downstairs to get water...short breaks. I run in place when I…

If you eat back your exercise calories, how do you lose weight?
