Congrats @ContraryMaryMary on your 10K PR! I too can't wait to see you run a 10K on fresh legs! @PastorVincent well done on your 26 mi run!
-
@martaindale Way to get that PR on your 10K! Yes, Houston knows how to organize a race, I have always been impressed how well the marathon is run every year. @eleanorhawkins really good that you are doing run/walk intervals. The Galloway method had been proven time after time to increase pace and lengthen distance. Keep it…

11 miles 5his evening. Supposed to rain ALL DAY Saturday, so decided to get out for a few tonight, and maybe do a few more miles Sunday. Was a nice easy run, and a couple sprints crossing busy streets was kinda fun. Hit 5:14/mi.

I fifth this (Ah, look at me band-wagoning again :p ). @quilteryoyo I'm glad your prognosis is positive and you are not letting it keep you down. @MegaMooseEsq happy late 36th birthday!
-
8 miles this evening. Great run. Felt nice and easy. Happy Spring.
-
Don't want to sound like a band-wagoner (I know that's probably not a real word), but I 100% agree with this!!
-
Wooow @7lenny7 and @rusgolden, that is impressive!!!!
-
@Lazy_Bones_85 sorry for the loss of your beautiful cat! It is hard to believe you could train her (training and cat rarely are seen in the same sentence ;) ) Welcome @yvonneangelgoh. @mobycarp 17th of 1000 overall, and 1st of 64 in my age group is FANTASTIC! You the man! @midwesterner85 welcome back from gall bladder…

Absolutely glorious run! I feel like I have been asleep or living under a rock for the past 6.5 years. The last half of Saturday's run I finally got the 'go slow' philosophy to get through my thick skull. Today I kept that going, and even played a game trying to go as slow as possible (without walking). It felt so relaxing…

Pretty sure you know how to control this ^^^ ;) And if you can't, well just set your priorities. As for the other possible life events, just try to be as careful and smart as you can, and be confident you will make the race.
-
@Mobycarp great race! So awesome that you had Meb to pace you, and you can actually say you past Meb Keflezighi in a race! @HonuNui congrats on your 10K. That is impressive that you just wake up, sign up, and run a race. @simcon1 way to go on your first 5K race! Just over :30 is a great time! @eleanorhawkins congrats on…

@workaholic_nurse! Oh my! Based on the car pics, you are EXTREMELY lucky to have walked away with those minor injuries! So sorry for your almost paid off car too! Just try to take it easy and heal. Hopefully insurance will be of some help (for you and your car). Guessing the cattle didn't fair too well either :'(

@Elise4270 0.5 mile 'race' just doesn't seem worth the trouble (even though it is for charity)
-
Great race @MobyCarp! Hope you do well and have fun tomorrow!

11 miles this morning. Took it easy for the first 5 miles. Right knee started hurting again, so slowed down even more. It felt better, and I can't remember running and feeling that easy in a long time. Have been told to slow down 472 times, but it didn't sink in until now. Just wanted to stay out as long as I could in the…

Happy Birthday @amirahdaboss and @ContraryMaryMary!!
-
Thanks! I'll try that.

6.2 miles this evening. Was supposed to be an easy run, but 24 mph wind made it feel a lot harder than it should have been. And ALL the uphills were against the wind 😫 Oh well, hopefully the weekend long run won't be too windy so it can be done at an easy effort.

In case you are like me and don't pay for runner's world subscription, that link for the article is blocked. I think a good summary of strides vs sprints can be summed up as follows: Sprints. A sprint means going all-out for as long as you can hold it. ...but not more than a couple hundred meters Strides. Strides involve…

@kristinegift sounds like you took all the right precautions. Knees >:) :s >:) :'( >:)

@lporter229 it would be very easy for the courts to get a replacement juror for you....but it would be impossible to get a replacement for you to run Boston. Tell THAT to the judge!
-
Really great weather (63F 9mph wind 63% humidity). Only right knee started talking to me after mile 2, but only whispering. Started easy at 9:21/mi, negative split all 5 miles, and ended last mile at 8:07/mi. Oddly, knee was totally quiet for the last mile 🤔
-
@ContraryMaryMary congrats on the team win. Nice bling!
-
@amymoreorless great job getting through that slog of heat and humidity to finish your HM. Breakfast tacos and mimosas are be a great motivator.
-
@katharmonic Well done! Sounds like a lot of work, but fun! Way to go!
-
@Elise4270 I was also going to suggest Umbrella Academy. It was surprisingly good. @PastorVincent for president!! Feeling sluggish, both knees hurting, and 22mph sustained wind, I gave myself permission to ignore pace and stride length today. Ended up finally hitting 13 miles. Hadn't done that in over a month.
-
8.2 miles this evening. Was a nice preview to Spring...72F with 16mph wind. 1 week into the month and I am at 27 miles. Looks like I am on track to meet goal this month.
-
@amymoreorless I have seen these two marathons on your list for a few months now, and I kept meaning to ask...You are running a marathon in Wisconsin on 5/4, and then another in Kalamazoo the very next day??? Huge respect!!! By the way, my wife and all her family are from Kalamazoo. Her mom and sister still live in the…

@elise4270 good thoughts and prayers for your surgery!

Over dressed for 44 °F, but didn't want to take any chances 😁 Was an easy 7 miles, but first 3 felt like a struggle. But no white fingers! Yay me!
