  • Before all the obvious answers continue, my question was rhetorical. And I'm not on any sort of quest to civilize the internet. But I guess your dripping sarcasm only proved my point.

  • Take the responders with a grain of salt. Many prefer to not read between the lines and understand that did not mean to ask if a protein shake was a magic potion that -poof- weight loss. I believe the between the lines question is "are there low cal protein shakes such as gold standard that can satiate you and help you…
  • Healthy Choice steamers are great. Smartmade is very good as well, and prides itself on all natural ingredients. Also enjoy the Atkins burritos.
  • I've found that eating an apple really helps my sweet tooth. I do my best to pre-plan my snacks.
  • I have an apple and preworkout, plenty of energy to sustain me.
  • What is your caloric intake? Are you logging?
  • I applaud your ambition! Be careful yo not bid off more than you can chew. Baby steps are fine. You don't want to kill yourself when first getting started. 1. You want to acclimate your body, without putting it into too much shock. 2. You don't want to burn yourself out by killing your body. I would give your body…
  • I'm a male as well. I don't really socialize per se. Sometimes I ask for two cents and sometimes chime in with it.
  • Nothing at all wrong with snacking...I actually love it. The issue is being proactive and intentional when at the store. It's been a lifestyle change for me. Smart popcorn mini bags, lightly salted popcorn, popcicles, cliff bar and Atkins snacks, apples....
  • It would be wise to not do that. Anything you spray on your body combine with sweat will be more offensive than "traditional body sweat."
  • Examples from my log: Chicken Atkins chicken and bean burritos Protein shakes and bars Low salt almonds Protein zone naked smoothies
  • Excellent work! As a budding runner myself, I'm very proud of you. I ran regularly years and years ago and got out of the habit. I started about 45 days ago. I've been doing my own private 5k runs and I have participated in one "real one." My first time was 44:27 and now I'm down to 31:11. Listening to adrenaline laced…
  • Don't be shy. Go. Many gyms offer one free personal training consult. Even if you don't sign up for training, they can for sure point you in the righty direction. Also, don't be afraid to ask the gym staff for help. It's their job. Finally, seek advice down the gym goers who are obviously experienced. I've had folks from…
  • There are several things I've stopped consuming, as I've had to make it a lifestyle change. I stopped drinking my calories unless it's something that's loaded with macros and/or nutrients, such as protein shakes or smoothies. I love my homemade protein shakes and naked smoothies now. I'll still have a small soda for a…
  • Almost a loaded question. Foods lower in calories yet higher in protein and or fiber will cause weight loss goals to be much easier and more sustainable. I don't deprive myself of the not so healthy foods. I eat them on special occasions so that they are the exception rather than the rule.
  • This! Go ahead and close the thread now, no one can give you any better advice. Consider lowering your cardio by half and subbing with strength training. I use a free workout I found online that mixes cardio and strength and it changes daily.
  • Don't give up or be discouraged. This app is a very useful tool. Low salt potato chips are still very tasty but are pointless if you eat the entire bag. Only 110 calories if you eat the actual portion size. I'm glad you're finished with the silly gimmicks out there. There's no question they help you lose weight. But the…
  • As said earlier, I'm not sure creatine is really what you're looking for based in what you've told us. My recovery after intense workouts is 1 1/2 scoops of protein mixed regular ole water. I use a higher quality powder to be able to get away with this. Grocery store brands not only contain many fillers, but also don't mix…

  • I myself go through the gym about 4 days a week. On days that I don't, I usually take a 3 mile jog. However, I still give my body one full day of rest. Your body needs that. I mix cardio and strength on each gym day. During gym day, I tend to focus on specific muscle groups. Day 1: biceps and chest Day 2: triceps and back…
  • Suggestions: 1. Consider eating something more filling ham a smoothie at lunchtime. Your body may be telling you it needs more for lunch. 2. Or if you want to stick to the lunchtime smoothie, try playing around with your calories and see if you can squeeze in a satisfying snack. Would you mind showing an example of a days…
  • Give us some help. Do you plan on preparing your own meals for the day? I am very busy and in the run a lot so my meal plan is centered around convenience.
  • It's not accuracy but consistency that counts. I don't weigh myself naked, but always in my gym clothes, and always after my morning poo, and always before breakfast.
  • Those mini Orville bags of course.
  • Keep in mind that I'm not a physical trainer nor a nutritionist. I can tell you what I plan on doing once I reach my ideal weight. I plan on working out just as much, but doing less cardio and more strength training. I also plan on eating at maintenance.
  • I would check yo make sure first that your iPad app is coreftky logged in. If so, make sure that the settings for both devices are set to correctly sync.
  • I assume you plan on jogging your neighborhood? Start at an easy pace. Maybe jog 6 houses and semi brisk walk for 3. And increase from there.
  • I've been at it for right at 45 days. Down 15 lbs so far. A lot of small meals, snacks. Lot of rigorous workouts. I know I don't have to watch my macros, but I do and it helps.

  • I focus on eating foods high in protein and fiber. It helps me lose in an indirect way, as it helps me stay satiated with fewer calories.
  • I would do a mix of cardio and weight training. It's actually what I do myself.
  • I personally don't go by those calories. I do use them as a guide and enter 65% of them. I then feel free to eat back all of those. Bot no, they aren't known to be incredibly accurate.
