  • To be fair, I used to do that (wearing a hoodie. AND a scarf) at my previous gym... after I noticed that every single time I resumed going there, I stopped going soon after because I had caught a cold... I didn't really have a choice in the end. Sometimes I think people in charge of AC in buildings shouldn't be allowed to…
  • I never saw any actual justification for it. IMHO what matters is how you as an individual reacts to it. If you go to bed at 1 am, eating at 6-7 pm sounds like a sure way to midnight snacking, since 5 hours later it's normal to be hungry. If you feel bloated, perhaps eat a lighter dinner? I'd say it's a matter of trial and…
  • Sounds borderline dangerous to me, in a 'recipe to pass out' way. :/
  • Try a few things, maybe, like eggs/protein rather than carbs (cereals can be quite a downfall). And if it doesn't work and you do better without breakfast, well, maybe that's just the way for you. Nothing wrong with that. :) I used to have a large breakfast, but have learnt I actually need to go with a light one. (I don't…
  • 5'2" here, and MFP puts me at ~1300 / day to lose a crummy .25 a week. That's just ridiculous but I don't really have a choice right XD (Also the classic '2000/days for women for maintenance' is bull in my case. Sure, if I ran 2 hours every single day, I guess.) Sometimes I eat back my exercise calories, but I try to keep…
  • Yep. All the more if the stressful situation implies that I'm very busy. (But then, I'm a 'boredom eater', so it makes sense.)
  • I set mine as sedentary because I know I can't log accurately, so this hopefully compensates a little. I only log the exercise for which I go out of my way, like going for a run. Also because, to be honest, walking 5 mins from home to Tube station then from station to work doesn't register as 'lightly active' to me (or it…
  • Hi, feel free to friend me if you like. I'm mostly recovered, but still walking the tight rope at times, and definitely still remembering all too vividly my most crappy BED days. -_-
  • I said no to the green tea cake served at lunch at work today, AND to the chocolate brownie served at 3 pm for the June birthdays celebration, all the while sitting some 3 metres from said plate of cake. For me, this is serious wow. :)
  • @als797 It's definitely a disorder, but a lot of people will say 'binge eating' when what they actually mean is 'I eat too much in general' or 'sometimes I polish off a pack of biscuits'. I've been through both and I can tell the difference now. Not that I enjoyed the experience. So eating too much =/= binge eating. BED is…
  • Haha, so true. Because when you're not tall and MFP has you at less than 1300 calories/day (and that's to lose a puny 0.25 lbs/week...), it's pretty depressing to tell yourself you may not be able to have that yoghurt at the end of the day. -_- So yeah, health and all, but not only physical... Mental/psychological as well…
  • Nope. My body does weird things anyway. Like, if I drink 1 glass of water, suddenly I've gained 1 lbs on the scale. XD So I just don't bother.
  • I've been wondering the same thing for myself , and I have no idea what the answer is, to be honest. :/ If it can help, here's what I'd consider: - Are you seeing a therapist regarding your ED? What's their opinion on this? (If you never addressed the ED issue with a specialist, it'd probably be good to do that first.) -…
  • I eat back some of it. Since I don't cook my meals, I can only go with rough estimates, so hopefully keeping a buffer of exercise calories offsets the logging mistakes I'm bound to make.
  • Thank you! :) Yeah, moderation is the big problem with binge eating. I absolutely need to remain in a state of mind like 'moderation / if you really must, then buy your cupcake in a super chic French bakery and enjoy it', rather than 'deprivation'. Sounds so obvious. Is much less obvious when your mind works the wrong way.…
  • Feel free to add me as well. Recovering binge eater here (and hopefully I'm not making a grave mistake by doing that whole calorie counting again!). I do battle with body dysmorphia as well, although mine is more gender- than weight-related, to be fair. Yet a whole other challenge. Oh frabjous joy.
