I did, I'm 5'6 and 137 lbs. I'm not big by any means, however I no longer fit in a lot of my clothes so I was hoping to go back down to 120 lbs. To lose 2 lbs a week MFP is saying to eat 1200 calories a day. I don't really exercise much, so usually I don't have any to log.

It isn't that I really found unhealthy food filling, I just ate it in large quantities. MFP is recommending I eat 1200 calories, so I'm trying to think of what to eat. I had some cereal for breakfast, pitas with jam for lunch, two cookies for snack, and some noodles for dinner the other day, but I wasn't very full. However…

I find that I can be torn at times, and that some things are more case specific than others. I do think that bodies of different shapes and sizes should be represented in the media, however I do believe that they should be healthy. Now I'm not only talking your perfect gym body kind of person, but there are plenty of us…

In terms of weight loss, it matters in certain senses. If you only eat 500 calories of pizza you will still lose weight (don't actually do that, haha). But the thing is certain foods are generally unhealthy for your body, even if you do lose weight (alcohol or processed foods for example). As well, certain foods lead to…

Feel free to add me, I'm looking for some supportive friends as well!

I don't like peanut butter...

I'm no expert, but from what I know, no, it doesn't matter when you eat what. A calorie is a calorie. However note that eating at different times may make you want to eat more. For example if I have breakfast super early I will end up craving a morning snack and will end up eating more than usual. Something to note.

Light hot chocolate. It satisfies my sweet tooth for only 45 calories! Better than a cookie that's for sure.

I ate well today so I'm pretty proud! Breakfast: Plain cheerios with skin milk in a small bowl (same everyday). Lunch: Pita with strawberry jam and a couple of grapes. Snack: 2 homemade chocolate chip cookies (I know these aren't healthy but I legit used to eat about 10 a day so 2 is amazing for me). Dinner: Noodles with…

I hate prepping and love sweet things so I'm a sucker for granola bars of different types. If you watch the nutrition label you can avoid the junk ones (that are basically candy bars) and find some healthy options! I quite enjoy the Made Good bars/bites, as well as Kashi bars at the moment. Just make sure you try and look…

I try to avoid carbonated drinks, sugar/calories or not, just because it stimulates the brain into wanting more sugar/sweets and doesn't fill you up. When I'm craving one though I do enjoy Sparkling Ice drinks. They are fizzy like pop and have lots of good flavours (that aren't watery in my opinion). They are no…

Thanks so much for all of your insights everyone! I'm going to follow MFP and try to shave some calories off and see if that helps. I haven't lost much weight before (this is the first time I've really gained a lot) so I'm not sure how it will go, but hopefully I will be successful!

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I'm a lady, and I'm happy to hear that is usually where the weight will come off first. I'll do my best to eat less calories and maybe I can try some cardio or something too. Wish me luck!

Nothing yet, that's the problem! I need to figure out how to lose that weight so I can fit in my clothes.

I want to be able to love my body. I wish I could say "again", but I've never loved myself. I just want to look in the mirror and be happy with what I see, get through a day without saying "I hate you" to myself. I'm hoping to lose some weight and tone up to maybe do this, but I'm not sure if I'll be able too. I'll cross…

Thanks for the insight guys, I've been doing the opposite, which is why it probably isn't working! I'll try to motivate myself in that way. Thank you! :)
-
Hey there, I'm doing the same! I had the same problem (Feel free to add me if you want a buddy!). I try to take pictures instead of the scale. It isn't as exact as a scale of course, but you can tell when you have lost over time or gained muscle.
-
I could, but I feel like they wouldn't offer any help either with worries of relapse. But like I said, I'm not trying to go back to that, I just want to get more in shape (I have like no muscle) and maybe lose like 10 lbs. I just don't know what to do, I feel very unconfident and am not sure how I'm supposed to leave the…

Feeling the same way, also looking for buddies and support. We can do this!

Personally, I'm not for daily weigh ins, just because I find it can be discouraging when really you might have only gained water weight, plus it can lead to more obsessive habits. Also it makes it feel like the pounds are taking forever to shred off. It's more exciting and motivating to see that you lost a pound at the end…

I'm trying some out now, good idea!

Wow you look great! I find it hard to reduce my calories that much, but I'm working on it! I should take some pictures as well, I didn't realize how good of an idea it was! I think that would make me feel better and give me more motivation!

My mini goal is to have a stable and healthy lunch schedule! University starts again tomorrow and I always struggle with what to pack for lunches. I'm hoping to find some healthy and filling ideas so I won't be tempted to buy junk food on campus! 🙂

Hoping to do some yoga/stretching everyday in 2019! It's a big goal (for me at least) but I've already started working towards it. Can't wait to see how it changes me, mentally and physically! 💪🏻
-
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I tend to have the all or nothing mindset, which is why when every holiday hits I reverse all of my progress. I'll try to get half portions, and to continue keeping track instead of saying "screw it" and pretending like nothing counts.
-
Thanks for the ideas! I will try keeping track of how often I meet my goal. 😊

Yoga is a new one for me! I am totally inflexible, so I was always hesitant to try. But now I'm in love with it! I just use a yoga poses app to get started, and do them in my bedroom. Even if you only have 15 minutes to spare it's a very nice way to de-stress, and feel like you are getting fit at the same time (without a…

I have been using MyFitnessPal for a while, but I really want to start focusing on my overall health in the new year, not just the calories! I used to spend my calories on junk food and wondered why I was starving all of the time. Now I want to begin to focus on WHAT I eat and try to make choices that are both filling and…
