  • This month flew by! I’m still chipping away at c25k on a treadmill so I run by time. But today was my last run for the month and the month total came to a little over 30 miles. Hoping to finish c25k in May.
  • Still chipping away at c25k on a treadmill. I just finished week 7. Life got in the way last week. I feel tired just thinking about moving from the treadmill to outside, but I’ll worry about that after I finish the program the first time.
  • I’m so behind on posts again! I’m still going by time rather than distance. I just finished week 6 of c25k. I know I’m supposed to go slow in order to build up endurance but I speed up sometimes ... it kind of feels like my calf muscles get a break when I go a little bit faster. It could be my imagination. I also have a…
  • I’m so behind in posts, but I wanted to say I’m in for April. I still “run” for time rather than distance and I actually only jog using a treadmill (unless you count when I really do run at speed with my dog which is a free-for-all disorganized, unmeasurable mess of frequent cutting laterally with starting and stopping to…
  • Hi again I’m a beginner who still runs by time rather than distance. I had to stop reading this thread when I took a short break because I felt too tempted to get back on a treadmill when I was supposed to be taking a break. I’m back to the treadmill as of today. For March, I ended up walking and jogging on the treadmill…
  • Thanks, everyone! I did not know that static stretching is not the thing to do because I literally had not run a mile since I was forced to in high school more than 20 years ago. Also, I decided that my core is sometimes tired after jogging because it’s easier for me to keep moving if I hold my gut in. I guess I’m not to…
  • I have some new runner questions if anyone is able to cast her mind back to when she was new to running. Or he. You know what I mean. 1) I wanted to stretch before and after running so I just typed “running stretch” in YouTube and followed the first 2 videos I saw. One was a “pre-run” and the other was post. All of the…
  • New runner of the couch potato variety I still run by time rather than distance or speed. I am building endurance with c25k. I use a treadmill at no incline to low incline and dread running outside with elevation and wind resistance. (Really admire the Florida woman who here who started c25k outside!) My goals are to…
  • I thought that article was fascinating! I had no idea low blood sugar and dehydration could trigger a panic attack in someone with a predisposition. The author’s life changed overnight, and it could happen to anyone. I have anxiety, too, that came on very quickly years ago but I never identified a single triggering event.…
  • Thanks! I know there are some running stores in the area so I will check them out. I broke my ankle and foot about 10 years ago and even though it was a long time ago, I don’t want to aggravate an old injury. I might even go to a podiatrist but I think he or she will probably just send me to a running store. Thanks again!
  • Hi. I’m new here and just found this challenge. I don’t know if it’s the right place for me because I’m new to running. I don’t run by distance yet. I use a treadmill on days I don’t do other exercise and go by time. So far in March, I’ve been on the treadmill 222 minutes. That’s 222 more minutes than February. Last night,…
