Wish I could help you, Dawn, but have no idea what you might safely use. That sounds miserable. I decided to avoid all sweeteners when I started this program, not even in my coffee. It's been a tough adjustment but found that it really got rid of that desire to have a sweet treat. It's not easy, but that might be the best…

Another week done, a 0.8 pound loss this time, along with an inch off my bust. Since I overindulged a bit this week, I'm happy to take this. @raspberrybishop2012, congrats on all of your victories. I love that your wrists, hands and feet are looking more streamlined - mine are still pretty puffy so looking forward to that…

@RhiannonBecks , congrats on such a great start! I measure 3 places, fullest part of bust, narrowest part of waist (just above belly button) and fullest part of the hips. I'm not sure how exact I am every time, but it is definitely encouraging to see rough measurements diminish, even just a little.

Wow, Kelly, you're a star! Isn't it wonderful how your mood and attitude are improved so quickly?

This article was really helpful and encouraging for me as a type 2 diabetic. I find I've been eating more protein than expected and I had this nagging worry that perhaps I was doing more harm than good - but reading this helped me calm down a bit over my protein intake.

Finally a bit of weight loss, down 2.6 pounds. I was a little frustrated those weeks where I did not lose, but staying the course has finally resulted in a bit of loss, plus another half-inch off the hips, so it's all to the good. Keepin' on is the right thing to do, even when not seeing results. You will eventually!

Once again no weight loss, have stayed steady for 2 weeks now. But once again I lost half an inch off the waist and half an inch off the bust. Losing inches makes me happy! By the way, I would love it if others contribute to this thread and post their successes, whether they are on the scale or some other metric. Improved…

Well, I'll report in again. At the end of my second week of keto, no additional weight loss, but I did lose some inches. Biggest loss was 2 inches in the hips, only half an inch off the waist. But that's definitely a victory. I thought my jeans were fitting a little looser. It's nice to at least feel that it's working,…

I think simple food is a great idea. Trying to balance macros across meals and days is hard! Right now I'm following a very specific program that provides semi-not-simple meals, but the recipe is calculated out and they provide the shopping list as well. So not-so-simple becomes fairly simple this way. And keto food taste…

Hi there, nice to meet a fellow newbie. Good luck!

It's so easy to cave, isn't it? Good luck on your fresh start!

I think 60% fat is a good starting point but since you're not used to it maybe be flexible on the macros. They're always adjustable. Some folks go much higher on the fat and drop others accordingly. By the way, the macro numbers you listed don't add up to 100%. My macros are currently set at 60/25/15, for comparison.

Apparently today is cheerleader day for me. It's my official Day 2 on keto (unofficially 3 days) and so far so good. I'm happy to be following a prescribed diet which outlines exact meals, takes a lot of the planning and macro balancing out of the picture. I got a tiny bit hungry last night, but was out watching the…

Hi, Mercedes and Jenny. I'm kind of a newbie (well, a comeback kid) and trying to work through the first few days myself. Let's all hang in there. Jenny, do you travel a lot?

Outstanding! I'm so excited to hear success stories. 20 pounds is a BIG loss! No cravings? I still have sweet cravings but am hoping that goes away.

That's great - six months on keto! Are you seeing a lot of improvements and benefits? I'm getting back on the wagon after many months of carbage and it's tough getting traction. Best of luck to you!

Rats, I forgot to click post. I don't have a whole lot of advice because I'm in the same boat. Right now I'm trying a very specific 2 week keto challenge and I will not deviate from it, not letting myself even think about something else. I'm not hungry, that's for sure. As for celebrations, maybe eating a keto meal before…

So sorry to learn of your losses and trials, but am filled with admiration for your courage and determination to keep moving forward.

It's really exciting to hear these success stories. I'm diabetic too - crossing fingers that I can also achieve some of these wonderful results. My next doctor visit is in two weeks, kinda worried what the lab results will show. But maybe the appointment after that will be really good.
